Not too long ago - SEC made fun of Big 12 Scores

Defense takes more preparation than offense. The lack of spring ball and little fall practice hurt that.- 1 reply

Has he had errant throws? Yes, so has Aune. Has he been inconsistent in the passing game? Yes, so has Aune. I challenge you to look at Mason Fine's starting year stats and compare them to Bean's. He can play the position and you morons that are trying to shift him to receiver or somewhere else are the same assholes that would try to shift Lamar Jackson to receiver or running back. I don't know who our QB1 will be next year, but if you think it is a transfer, you're dumb and wrong. It is a QB on our roster and I think it's Aune, Bean, or Martin, but Bean absolutely deserves to be in that conversation and F you if you think otherwise.

Potential Transfers from the Current Team

Bean is not a receiver you ****. He's a QB. He's got the talent. Just like when UT split time with David Ash and Case McCoy, neither benefited and the program suffered. I like Aune, but he tore apart a terrible defense. Even worse than our own. I think Aune is the stronger passer, but Bean's scrambling abilities cannot be overlooked. Not only that, BOTH QBs consistently overthrew wide open receivers. We need a QB coach to coach them on the technical side. And we need an off season where the DC can actually implement their system that challenges the offense.- 36 replies

He had his arm inside the defenders arms. Unless he jumped in front of the ball it wouldn't have mattered. Wilson has shown he is viable as a second tier running back (obviously I think he can be a starter, but given his current resume, he likely won't be hired as one), and those are always valuable in the NFL. I'm not worried about his job security, especially over that one play. I'm more worried about the fumble he had last game in that regard.

Bruh the ball was thrown right into the defenders hands. He had no chance on that. Bad throw by Mullins.

Sarah Fuller - SEC Special Teams Player of the Week

Not taking issue or agreeing with your other arguments, but this is a disingenuous claim. First the pros are funneled the best talent. Second, if they lose key players they can replace them via trade or free agents. -
I'll take his talent if he wants to shop it here but I doubt it. I still think we have our future QB on the roster. I do think something people are overlooking is we don't have an *actual* qb coach. Shanbour is awesome as a GA and I know he helps that group, but I don't know if he has the technical knowledge to guide our QBs on why they keep overthrowing wide open receivers. And we know fullback SL certainly doesn't know the nuance of throwing the football with the precision his offensive scheme requires. TLDR We need a QB coach. To be clear, I'm glad we fired the last one, but not filling the position has been a big mistake.

I hereby demand UNT forfeit the Sun Bowl as the current resident ****poster.

No, he overthrew that one too. Darren could have grabbed it but he was having to reach for it

Despite some impressive moments, yeah, they sucked. Neutralizing the Bean run game was obvious too. The fact that Bean can't exploit a spy is indicative of a coaching deficiency. Taking a defender out of the rush AND the pass defense game (at least initially) should leave someone uncovered downfield or make for a qb rush route post snap.

Under his first year here? After not having spring ball? Our defense is a patchwork of our last system (and players) and his system. There were glaring deficiencies which has me worried, but Ref would have f'd it up too. Edit: Already got an eyeroll. If you can honestly tell me Ref's defenses were better than this (with much more preparation than this defense got considering the loss of spring ball) you really need to go watch film of the past two year.

Opinion on Martin? Why not. Dude has worked well with good receivers in the past. Coach's kid. Give him a damn shot.

Bean overthrew Darden like three times before being benched. Both have issues on the long ball.

Well good.

I'm sad that Pirtle was so under utilized. His selflessness to do whatever is best for the team is obvious and would have been beneficial on the field in 2018. I know he was hampered by injury last year. Hopefully with the Covid stuff he gets another year?

Saw that. That's the only way they could stop Novil.
