Ruder did need the playing time/experience in the system and a starter wasn't announced...just speculating. Why not put him out there for 3 quarters and see if he can keep the team afloat against an FCS team?

Yeah I don't know what the deal was but the refs definitely did not like us.

Torrey doing KO returns was a huge red flag for me. Under no circumstances should Torrey be doing punt or KO returns.

The defense hasn't been perfect by any means but they are in much better position compared to last year.

Carson Camp had an up and down game...but he showed way more poise in the pocket with a lot more decisiveness than Bean did, just comparing QB to QB. And apparently he's only a Freshman. Not trying to hate on Bean, but he showed off his happy feat(it was late sue me) feet once again. To be fair, Bean was basically KU's offense and that is on KU, not Bean. I think Bean got better as the game went on too. Interested to follow his KU journey.

They went 1 - 5 last year. If we can't beat them in our sleep it's going to be a rough year.

Also announcer just said Wadley isn't playing, so hard to tell how good their run game will be based on this game alone.

UTEP's Oline has not impressed me. Multiple big hits on UTEP's QB by an anemic NMSU defense. If our defense has improved, that is a good sign. Otherwise UTEP's offense does look improved though. Hardison can make good, accurate passes if unpressured . UTEP's defense looks solid as well.

I hope you're right. I'm not that optimistic though.

He's on the practice squad so...I don't know CFL rules, but I don't think it is a possibility.

They're probably switching off like they did last off season.

I would bet a large sum of money that Darden is going to make some huge, game breaking plays for the Bucs this season.

It's a start. When they signed Paxton Lynch I knew that was bad news for Mason. Hopefully, if Lynch sees playing time, he implodes like he did in the NFL. Otherwise, as others have mentioned, he might find a new home on a QB needy team.

"We don’t even know if a guy will bounce back if he gets sacked." We know Mason did this routinely.

I mean, do we really think Boise State's 3rd stringer is going to come in and make a bid difference next season?

We don't need another qb. We need to work with the ones we have.
