He didn't do anything with authority last year so that would be a welcome change. Well, other than throw it to the other team with authority. Edit: I'll take it a step further. Earle showed more decisiveness and moxy in one single series than Ruder did in four games last year.

Ruder would throw it to the other team and get an endzone pick 6 in that situation based on last year's performance. Would be glad to be proven wrong. SL said that Ruder got the nod to start last year because of his QB smarts. Would be nice to have a guy like that on the field as long as he can handle the pressure, which is the biggest question in my mind with Ruder.

Not sure which play, but if I had to guess it was the almost TD (that I still think was a TD). Got slammed pretty hard.

Takeaway for our defense, Frank Harris threw 3 INTs tonight, all because of pressure. If we want to win this game, we have got to generate pressure on Harris while also having a spy. It will be tough sledding for our defense.

Well we're 1-1 in conference play so we're not out of that race yet. Though I have been watching the replay (couldn't watch live). Aune only had 2 INTs but he should have had more and I'm only in the 1st quarter.

Shouldn't we all be? I'm not saying it will happen, but we started the first half of last season 1-5. If we manage to get to 3-3 next weekend, we're in a better place than we were last year. My main point is I see no evidence that any other QB on our team is going to do better or spark the team to play better.
