  1. Have I said he didn't play well today? Aside from a few throws, he did. I just don't trust it and I expect he will be a completely different passer next week. No consistency and a tendency toward bad decision making over his career. Again, would gladly be wrong.
  2. I will say this, if he starts the rest of the season and we get into the conference championship game or win a bowl, fine by me if he gets in.
  3. Literally impossible. Aune couldn't pitch a perfect game if his life depended on it.
  4. All y'all have the green glasses on. Aune will lose us this season, mark my words. He has PROVEN he will **** things up. I'd gladly be wrong, but I don't think I will be.
  5. Guess you missed those two passes he threw into the dirt in a row for no reason in the 3rd quarter.
  6. We would have beat UTSA if Aune wasn't a pussy and just ran the damn rock a couple of times when he had 15 yards of open field in front of him. Not saying he should be precluded, just saying that just because his stats for this game and his career stats are good doesn't mean it tells the whole story.
  7. Nope, Dak can actually run the ball, just like Earle, who had 20 yards on 3 attempts.
  8. Unfortunately stats don't mean shit if you lost games because of terrible QB play, no matter the numbers.
  9. Earle was better in his limited action.
  10. I'm okay with physical play, but the refs were tickytacky all night. Should have been called based on how the refs were calling the game previously. There were some PIs earlier that were BS too if you go by the physical play standard. Should be based on how they called PI in the game. See previous.
  11. Oh no, you caught me, my title was a bit dramatic. Not an argument for why he should start.
  12. We have a shot, but we couldn't even beat a severely wounded UTSA team. I'm not that optimistic. As always, would gladly be proven wrong.
  13. Yup. Less than ideal, but we can't get to a conference championship if WKU loads the box like UTSA did, and that is exactly what WKU did against UAB. I don't think WKU can contain the run as well as UTSA did, but they certainly did a good job against UAB. Aune can't win us the game through the air. The UNLV, SMU, Memphis, and UTSA games have proven that. I think we have to make a switch. That said, SL isn't pulling Aune for WKU. If we lose that game, I think SL pulls him. Not playing for a championship at that point and a mediocre bowl appearance doesn't save your job. We also saw this exact same thing last year, except Ruder was worse than Aune has been this year. Seth stuck with Ruder for two games too long. IMO, we've stuck with Aune at least 3 games too long. Aune has proven he can't get it done.
  14. We are out of it. Every other team knows all they have to do is load up on the run and Aune can't beat them with his arm.
  15. Only way to learn the lesson we never do.
  16. How bout the refs call for a blatant offensive PI.
  17. I just wish there was a video and a beat down, especially after Traylor lost his shit after the clock operator blatantly cheated for UTSA. They don't play clean. Cheating bastards.
  18. You could see it the first minute in the game where we ran the same play twice after the INT. Shorter was doing some sort of slant or post and cutting left and Aune puts the ball above his helmet TWICE, not in front of him where it should be. Both of those plays, especially the first one where Shorter was wide open, could have been TDs. That's what I mean when I say Aune's ball placement kills us. It was great play calling to do that and do it again and it should have worked both times. Maybe Shorter could have come down with it, but I don't think the receivers have any expectation of consistency on where the ball is going to be, they just need to be ready for to be somewhere within 6 feet of them and then they have to make a crazy play to even get it. And it is maddening because we have REALLY good receivers that are HEALTHY. Maclin, Bush, Shorter, and Burns all being wasted with Aune behind center. Credit to Burns, he should make it at the next level. His ability to adjust to Aune's BS is commendable. Reminds me a lot of Darden.
  19. My point is if we're going to lean heavy on the run game, get the next QB that is going to start for us in there, get them experience while we have the four headed monster. If Aune can't complete at least 50% of his passes we have to move on and get someone that is more consistent at the position. His inconsistency lost us the game. Quite literally a matter of completing 3 or 4 more passes or seeing 15 yards of running room in front of you and getting the first down with your legs.
  20. You don't need the QB play to be perfect to hand the ball off, you just need a QB that can read the defense and not make critical mistakes.
  21. Hypothetically, we would have won this game with coaches that know how to scout and develop QB talent.
