SL and his agent played us for fools last year, and yet some fans on here pretend like he’s doing this for free and isn’t just trying to leverage us for greener pastures. How many contract extensions/modifications has he gotten by using the “well we used to suck” card? If this is going to be a transactional relationship, fine. We need to expect more on our side of the transaction.

The coaching staff also needs to protect Mason from himself. If the kid is hurt, don't let him gut it out. The offense cannot protect him. We cant win with a broken QB

I think everyone made too many assumptions based on last year. We assumed Reeder would successfully implement a good system, and that Fine would look like he did last year. Neither of those things happened. 7 wins looks impossible at the moment.

Mason has earned some leeway and its clear that the scheme and the rest of the offense is not doing him any favors. But he looks terrible. Don’t know how long this can go on

UNT has held itself back, no doubt. But your conference dictates your ceiling in terms of recruiting/competition/opportunities. So C-USA still remains a significant impediment to UNT.

By function of being a school with a strong music program, our band is better than that of most G5/low P5 schools. Did you see SMUs sorry ass band a couple weeks ago? Garbage. Houston’s looked awful on the field and sounded mediocre. BUT, we take the talent to an extreme and play boring technically sophisticated music. I can appreciate it, but jazz during halftime is wack.

This happens to every halfway successful G5 team. It’s not an excuse to get blown out in every tough game over 3 years

Bad record versus +.500 teams. No conference championships. No bowl wins. Signature wins? Maybe the one, at Arkansas. To top it all off it looks like 7 wins will be the best we can hope for this year. That is regression and it doesn’t look like we have the depth to be much better next year. I've seen all I need to see.

We reached peak SL last year. This years team is awful in all three phases and it’s clear you can only put that on coaching and recruiting. I hope a P5 is dumb enough to give him a job.
