  1. We won, but we certainly got away with a PI in the last couple of minutes of the game. It brought equilibrium to the game for the missed interception the the officials refused to review and the fumble that was missed.
  2. I am glad he wins close ones, but some of those games should not be close.
  3. Our ladies of Soccer will get it done. They have been playing lights out. That ODU loss got them in the right frame of mind. He did and I am glad he over thought it in the end.
  4. I am ecstatic for the win, but I still believe we were out-coached. The game should not have been this close. I say again that we had more talent on the field than they did. We have got to learn how to make in game adjustments not just halftime adjustments. GH was killing me by putting the offense in Fine's hands. Wilson was rolling and they used him sparingly. I don't know if they are trying to preserve him for later, but he was beasting tonight and we didn't use him nearly enough. We could have kept their offense off the field if we would have used Wilson more. I understand playing fast, but sometimes you have to grind a team down. Especially when they have as many injuries as LAT has. It's a win and I will take it. See you all next week at Apogee. Oh yeah I will be there. Let's see if we can get the apathetic students to come out. They have no excuse now because if a Veteran like me can come out on Veteran's day, they should too.
  5. He is working and GH is using RB by committee. Evans is missing blocks to protect Fine and Fine is making bad decisions. Let Wilson win this game for you.
  6. Frustrating watching our coaching staff getting out-coached. Wilson is a beast and we use him sparingly.
  7. I do not think that the team is being outplayed, I think they are being out-coached. It is obvious that we have more talent than they do. Their coaches made in game adjustments and ours did not. Why does Wilson not have more touches? Quit allowing Mason to make so many decisions. He is still a young QB. Let him make those decisions against teams like Rice and UTEP. He keeps reading the zone read incorrectly and getting crushed. Just give the damn rock to Wilson. Why no timeout on that fumble? It's like SL thinks he can have 6 timeouts in the 2nd half. To me that all leads back to coaching. I understand the staff is young and are learning together. With the exception of Reffett and Langston, they are pretty young. Reffett should know better by now and know how to make in game adjustments. Flusche gets his helmet ripped off and no flag. SL should be working the hell out of the officials. I still think this is a great staff with a lot of upside, it's just frustrating to watch them learn on the job.
  8. I am pretty sure they do the same thing.
  9. UNT is best team left.
  10. When I read the article it said they have had 70 players injured at some point or another this season. As far as out, it looks like they have 6 out permanently. They have 18 who are out or will be limited this week. I think that is where the 24 comes in at. Six for sure, but the other 18 are some out and some still possible. It goes on to say that they will have more first time starters this week than they have had all season.
  11. ESPN dug that hole themselves when they started getting all PC instead of sticking to sports.
  12. Soccer just won their first round game in the tourney. Beat MTSU 4-1. I hope the face FAU and dominate them.
  13. They are looking good in the Tourny so far. I hope they face FAU in the next round and beats the breaks off of them to get a mark of revenge for what happened to the football team.
  14. Ahhh the good old days. Were not too good when it was happening. LOL.
  15. I won't make any predictions about this game because I can't get a feel for this team. I think the offense rolls up big numbers as usual, but I am not sure about the defense. I feel if Reffett sometimes plays zone in 3rd and long and slow down the man to man so much, we could get off the field and win. If he continues man to man and living with the blitz, we lose. Just my thoughts.
  16. Being that I recently retired from the Army, I can say some things that are possibilities. When I was a Drill Sergeant at Fort Sill, they made us bring our Soldiers who were in the middle of Basic Training to any games that Army played in the DFW area. Fort Sill trains thousands of Soldiers each year. When they are offered the chance to go to the football game, they all go with the exception of a few that get in trouble. They go because it is a break from the grind of basic training and they know the Drill Sergeants are not going to yell at them at the game because of the public venue. As a matter of fact, they are kind of "voluntold" to go. Even kids who do not like football go because they get a chance to eat food other than MREs and food they serve in the dining facility or mess hall for my older veterans. I also did recruiting in Fort Worth, which falls under The United States Army Recruiting Battalion-Dallas. Dallas Recruiting Battalion works hard to bring as many of their recruits who have not shipped to basic training to the game. Plus they set up tons of booths and work to get the Golden Knights Parachute Team to jump the game ball in to games. That's all designed to increase recruiting numbers. They see it as a chance to recruit. Although, I served 23 years in the Army, I am not a West Point guy. I am UNT through and through so I will be going for the Mean Green. I said all that to say how Army could bring a larger than expected crowd. Oh, almost forgot, I was stationed at Fort Hood my last few years and they will give tickets to the game away there through the MWR. Lot's of Soldiers may come just for a reason to come to Dallas instead of Austin for the weekend. Just some thoughts. Not saying all that will happen, but that's what is usually involved.
  17. I think they win 3 out of the last 4. I am just not sure if the loss comes from LAT or Army. I predicted at the beginning of the season that LAT would be a loss. Hopefully they win all 4.
  18. He fumbled yes that had something to do with it, but according to his Dad he is nursing a banged up shoulder and that was contributing to his fumbles.
  19. I still think the defense is in trouble and it's not the players. The players played well all night. It is the defensive play calling that has to change. That means Reffett. Even though they won the game last night, Reffett is still a problem.
  20. I agree with every word. He is better if he can get the edge.
  21. I believe the team goes as Wilson goes, but I also think they abandon getting the ball to Wilson too soon. I mean if they are stopping you from handing it off to him then get him moving towards the sideline and throw to him so he can operate in space. That's just basically a long hand off. Then increase the short underneath passing game to loosen up the defense
  22. Being a huge Track & Field fan, I may show up there. I am ready to see some track meets in Denton.
  23. People may have been saying Jones should have replaced Ben. I wasn't saying that and never believed he should. If you go on the Steelers board, there are no Steelers fans saying Jones should have replaced Ben. As a matter of fact they have been saying for a few years that Jones should be gone. Anyone saying different are definitely not Steelers fans. But, I digress. My point was that when I said Jones shouldn't replace Ben, I was saying me because the comment was made that the backup is always more popular as if I was saying it for that reason. The other point is yes Prescott and Brady replaced guys who were injured, but last year Littrell burned Fine''s redshirt to replace Morris and both of them were inexperienced. Morris hadn't played since he was at Allen High School because he was buried deep on Alabama's bench. Why not leave him in to gain experience? I was just saying it couldn't hurt to throw Shanbour in. Fine played most of last year and all of this year. Shanbour has played sparingly. May as well get him some experience in garbage time because Fine has a lot more than him and Littrell himself keeps saying they are going to need them both.
  24. I agree. When he touches the ball on 1st and 2nd down, he usually gets 5 or more yards. He gets stuffed on obvious running downs. If I was a coach and a player was getting 5 yards on first and second down, I would give it to him every time until they proved they could stop it. Maybe that's why I am not coaching and I am commenting on a message board, but that seems logical to me.
  25. Now that I can agree with. I was just hoping to see the defense make the same progress as the offense.
