I think of it as an incremental process. Start 1-11 do some recruiting go 5-8 do some recruiting go 6-6 slightly better recruiting 7-5 slightly better recruiting 8-4 slightly better recruiting 9+ wins If you find someone who can take a 1-11 team (that gets blown out by the largest margin to an FCS team) that is well below scholarship cap with years of terrible recruiting and turn them into a 9+ win team in 3 or fewer seasons then I suggest you take up as a job as an AD because with a turnaround like that I think you could make some serious money.

Looks like we'll have an answer pretty soon.

It's always worth a try haha. I personally like Martin's tape better than I like Tune's but I would be happy with either. I think either would be a better than average QB for us.

I'm holding out just a little hope for Amie because maybe Tyreke is in his ear. Here's what I think the chances are from most to least likely: 1: Kason Martin 2: Clayton Tune 3: Chance Amie I'm just waiting on @TheReal_jayD to tell us if he is top 5 or top 10 🤔

My safe pick is Martin (#8). I would like us to get the combo of him and his RB (Deneric Prince). My reach pick is Chance Amie (#3). We have offered both so we'll just see what happens over the next few weeks. SMU's 2018 QB commit (William Brown) had exactly 1 FBS offer and that is SMU. Does very very high mean top 5 or top 10?

There is a chance we get Kason Martin & Deneric Prince. We could get the Manvel combo of their QB and their RB. (Package deal?) Prince has a pretty solid offer list: UCLA, SMU, Purdue, Southern, Louisville, Colorado State, ACU, & us. He isn't rated on 247 but I would think with those kind of offers he has to be a 3 star recruit. Fowler is now a solid 3 star with an offer from Tulsa, LA Tech, ACU, and us. Rucker is a solid 3 star with an offer from: Purdue, Rice, SMU, ACU, Texas State, UNT, & Southern Miss. (247 profile is him in a UNT jersey). Williams is another solid 3 star guy who has offers from: Utah, Purdue, Tulsa, Indiana, Navy, Arizona, & UNT. If we got these 5 men that would be a VERY solid start to the class.

Of note: Marshall got their first commitment for 2018 a couple of hours ago. He is unrated on 247 and his only other offer is Eastern Kentucky (FCS). Their fans seem pretty happy to have him.

That numbers wasn't buoyed by a strong Oklahoma and Oklahoma state. Kansas, Iowa State, Texas, Kansas State were all terrible to okay. PAC 12 was better imo and the ACC gave us the champion.

It appears as though we are going to have 20 scholarships to use on the 2018 recruiting class. What would be the ideal composition of this class? Right now we have: 1 ATH 2 OG 1 DT 1 RB Assuming all of these guys stay committed what positions should we spend the other 15 scholarships on?

I'm just pre-empting the "oh well we were his only choice", "oh another recruiting fail by SL", and "I would have preferred X player". Seems like there has been a lot of negativity lately on who SL and staff are choosing to offer and who commits to us.

Now to scour the interwebs to figure out who this is. What do you think will be the reaction of this board to the announcement? Excitement, good, meh, or terrible 🤔

Now has offer from: LA Tech, Colorado State, SMU, & UNT. Does anyone know if we are still pursuing Mr. Bean? I really like his film and feel like he is my favorite available QB of who we have offered so far.

Just for reference, I didn't look at all currently starting NFL QBs but I looked at 15 and of those 15 12 were mid to low 3 star recruits and only 3 were 5 star recruits. Just saying.

So we would have 3 away OOC games in 2019? That sucks if true :(

IMO: He has good film and should be able to contribute after a RS season and putting on some weight/filling out. Big fan of the height, afraid of what the weight issue could do. Regardless, glad to bring in a new member to the Mean Green Family. Welcome Cole :).
