My man Andy Flusche was moved to backup by Sid Moore. It's a conspiracy I tell ya. My son has to be the best DE (that's healthy) on the team. Also, I want to see what Smiley can do at PR.

The line has moved over night and SMU is now favored by 13. Apparently people don't have faith in us, or they just really think SMU is good.

We even got a couple plays in.

My other son Andy Flusche had some respectable numbers in week 1. He had 5 tackles (tied for 2nd highest on the team) with 1 being a solo. He defensed 2 passes of the team's total 5 (40%). He also had 2 of the team's 8 QB hurries (25%).

Wow I guess 90 started a trend of supporting other DFW teams. First TCU & now SMU.

My first son is Bryce English who is (temporarily) out. So I decided I would take a second one to keep him company. Can't believe no one had taken Andy Flusche yet. Now once Bryce is back, I'll control 2/3 of the DL lol.

I would just like to point out that we were Johnson's only offer. This is why it's important to see what the guys can do before we assess them.

Interesting that only 5 Texas FBS teams are starting 1-0. Also, all of these teams played an FCS opponent.

For what it's worth, about a month ago Vito predicted we would lose to SMU by 18.

UTSA opens as a 15 point underdog to Baylor.

It's a road game against a team in a better perceived conference with a better perceived head coach and we're still widely seen as the team that got blown out 66-7 by Portland State and went 1-11 2 seasons ago. I'll take just being 12 point underdogs.

The opening line for the game this weekend is SMU being favored by 12. That's a respectable line imo. Could have been much worse.

I may be bad luck haha. Would hate to adopt a second and have them get hurt too. Plus, who can afford a second kid anymore in this economy?

My player Bryce English is still out with his broken foot injury. I have heard though that he SHOULD be back in time for the UAB game.

Baylor plays UTSA this week so I'm curious to see how that game goes.

After week 1 the ESPN FPI has been updated and here is what it looks like now: UNT at SMU: SMU favored 74.9-25.1 UNT at Iowa: Iowa favored 89.6-10.4 UNT vs UAB: UNT favored 77.6-22.4 UNT at USM: USM favored 59.9-40.1 UNT vs UTSA: UNT favored 62.5-37.5 UNT at FAU: UNT favored 51.0-49.0 UNT vs ODU: UNT favored 64.9-35.1 UNT at LA Tech: LA Tech favored: 63.9-36.1 UNT vs UTEP: UNT favored 81.4-18.6 UNT vs Army: Army favored: 74.1-25.9 UNT at Rice: UNT favored 69.2-30.8 So that means if we win the games we're favored in that would put us at 7-5 on the season.

In all fairness to Mason, the one sack he did take wasn't his fault. That was a hard blitz and he had less than 2 seconds to do anything. O-Line couldn't handle that hard of a blitz and as a result Mason was put on his back before he even realized what was going on.

I was meandering around and I actually found an older couple with a TCU tent. I originally stopped by to tell them that Fort Worth was 45 minutes the other way and ended up staying for a couple of old hours reminiscing. The man was talking about how he graduated shortly after Vietnam. Invited me back, so I guess I didn't give them too hard of a time haha.

I feel that the offense did what it was supposed to do. Wish the ball would have been thrown more, but my guess is they didn't because they didn't want to give too much of the playbook away to SMU/Run up the score on Lamar. Running game looks really solid with Nic Smith backing up Jeffrey Wilson. The defense also looked good to me. 1 INT isn't as many as I would have liked, but they're playing man now so there's a bit of a transition period I guess. D-Line looked meh to me, will be happy to get English back. Special teams was scary. Eric Jenkins muffing that punt made me a little mad honestly, but it's his first time back there so I understand. Punting was surprisingly good imo. Had a few injury scares at the beginning but seems like everyone is okay now so that seems good to me. After game 1 I still think this is an 8-5 team.

For what's it's worth, he has retweeted some stuff from UNT players today about it being GAMEDAY.
