On this general idea of not getting local talent, there is an OLB at Allen right now that is a 3* with 7 FBS offers, including Washington State, and none of those FBS offers are UNT. His name is Jace Waters. Makes you wonder why the staff wouldn’t extend an offer.

Dominick Neal: No clue if our offer is still good, I think he goes to Eastern Michigan. Chris Welch: I'm thinking this may be a PWO offer, not 100% sure though. He is going to announce his decision on Tuesday and sign on Wednesday per 247. I don’t have as great of a feeling about it now as this is coming after his Illinois official.

SO here’s the thing. With Nic going to ULM there are 2 possibilities: 1) We stopped recruiting him. This would be absolutely insane on the staff’s part. We need a REALLY good TE. Not to mention that he is also a very highly rated player and numerous other schools wanted him or even scarier 2) we couldn’t outrecruit ULM for a local talent. Either way, this is disgusting.

I know a lot of people aren’t going (only 88 of 160 student travel packages sold), but will there be any tailgates Saturday morning before the game?

I stopped by the ticket office today to pick up my student package. I asked how ticket sales are going. The response was a sad look. I asked if we’re going to sell our allotment and they said not even close. They said “It’s a quick turn around, the same day as graduation, it’s far away, and the opponent isn’t well known.” They said Troy will bring a lot more people than we will. The main thing it seems is the distance hence evidenced by the comment Worker: “it’s relatively far enough for people to not want to travel” Me: Oh like compared to the Heart of Dallas bowl? Worker: Exactly.

In all fairness, it’s probably easier to sell LA Tech having 3 9 wins seasons in a row and still getting a bowl game this year as a down year than it is to sell 1 9 win season as a winner and a culture change.

Wow C-USA is only favored in one bowl.
