At this point, with the # of times Brooks has been burnt deep.. I would rather have Jenks on a running play than Brooks on a passing play.. Also, the run defense has been a positive so far, pass defense not so much.. give me a man who can cover

While I agree (that its to early)but, the point is if he can keep UNT winning and going to a bowl game it will be something schools/programs look at..

Jenkins did replace Brooks late in the game, believe Brooks didn't get back on field in the 4th Qtr... Jenkins had 2 PBU that were on scrabbles by the UAB QB, and could have been INTs for Jenkins.. Starting CBs vs USM should be Hall and Jenkins.

He has dressed out every game so far.. and so has Greg White... Also, Carson did get late reps in the Lamar game.. Yes this is likely no biggie, but they did play the true freshman Davis, Sanders, TonyK, and Johnson... I'm going to go out on a limb and say, likely none of us knew Isadore had gotten a DWI.. With that being said not a great first impression to make (with him being a mid-season transfer) and wonder if this lead to another reason to bring in 2 QBs.. If he was on short leash, they were likely planning ahead.

I'm pleased with the offense stats, but a few spots need to be improved... If move offensive 3rd down conversions from .33% (Tied for 100th) to some where in the 70 range (likely around 40%), it would do a great deal in terms of the defense being limited and eating more time which we are 61st with over 30 minutes (impressive after after playing 2 run heavy teams in Iowa and UAB)... Passing Defense is 106.. if they can get that into the 60-80 range, it will be impressive and a huge help as well.. Also, Net Punting is ranked 108.. Lets just hope that Kensworthy has worked out the kinks and we can get the average from 35 to to closer to 40.. again not a huge jump but something that can be improved.

UAB is not a team that will be dominated this year... They have recruited well and been allowed to practice for years.. This was never meant to be an easy game

That would suck but it would be good information to pass along to the staff about what other programs are doing.. it sucks that UNT is just getting to things teams have done for years..

3 game winning streak at the end of the year would be nice, would give us momentum going into a bowl bid..

That's the rest of the season including the bowl game (if we get to one)... From the tweet is sounds, it sounds like grades with him needing to focus on certain things.. It doesn't sound like he is off the team

UAB is a talented squad and has better recruiting classes.. If anyone thought they would just rollover and let us win because they are in their first year back is mistaken.. That QB is a tough kid, yes the defense has to be better... Brooks has give up multiple long TDs and in some games multiple TDs.. If Jenkins can come in an just be average (which Jenkins should be better than average), it will improve this DB group greatly, along with Dee coming back.. Hall and Muhammad have been the 2 best guys so far, so if we can get Brooks/Jenkins playing at their level and McClain it will be great

I totally agree, the only worry is and I would hope GH would be aware of it.. but if it's 4th and 1.. don't run a slant because likely most DL are just going to try and get their hands up with Fine at QB.

WB said that he kept a list of potential MBB coaches and tracked them... I'm going to guess he has been keeping tabs on just incase, as well.

Lets hope that USM overlooks us for UTSA.. My question is.. Has USM found a QB, and if they have is it the same kid as last year? if not is who is and when did they get to USM? Fine is playing at a way higher level than Morris did last year, and Fine played well in Iowa/SMU (at times) and I'll assume that USM defense isn't as great as either of those.. (no offense USM).. We just have to hope that ST can help us again like it did yesterday vs UAB FAU looks winnable, ODU i have no idea, UTEP we get a home (and its home-coming right?, so lets hope another big crowd) and then Rice.. Rice and UTEP may not have the same HC when the game is played compared to right now.. Army, It will be critical that we can keep up the offensive performance.. if we get up on them, it could be over quick..

I agree they should have changed the play.. Which I do not get, they look over the sideline for plays, you think they could signal in a new play.. My only thought is if they run a quick-slant all the DL has to do is get their arms up and fine wont be able to get it over/through them... Either way (run or pass) if it had failed we would have wondered what coulda been if the other was done.. Just like Seattle in the Superbowl with Lynch.. Do you run him on the 1 or throw it, they threw it and it was an INT... Also, I was thinking at the end of the game when UAB got the ball, it was with like 1:10 left in the game.. If we had punted it down field it likely would have ate up 1 minute for them to go from where the punt likely ends to where we were stopped..

WB, SL, and then recruiting guys.. BTG did a little segment about it during last year and I believe that Shane Elder was on of the guys that helped coordinate the visits from dinners, to hotels, etc... Need to pass this along to as many people as possible.. Great to hear and hopefully it moved UNT up a slot or two.. Will any of these guys be coming back for another visit later in the season? Would really like to see Shorter end up here (but noticed Wilson from UTSA was following him).. Agreed with all of it, its worrisome about the weight room and have brought this up before.. a lot of the local schools districts have an IPF and the schools have football only weight rooms.. Adding those two are critical just to catching up and improving the "image" of UNT commitment to football.. Was disappointed in the student side being late to showing up, and then a number of people leaving before halftime as well.. But hopefully the result of the game will makes people want to come to see more UNT games..

He did get a cramp or like a pulled calf muscle... Honestly, I think he is just trying to do the "big" play for him to show why he was an All C-USA pick.. Hopefully him sitting for the 4th quarter will clear his head... we need him big time vs UTSA
