With multiple personal in the AD office
-
The results should be out possibly Friday afternoon/evening or at worst case.. it will be early next week.
-
Also, when I checked late Wednesday Night, the “Yes” vote was leading. The results should be put possibly Friday Afternoon/Evening or early next week, I was told.
-
The email wasn’t from just the AD office.. it was from the SGA which doesn’t send out 30 emails a week. The AD office was literally giving out free shirts all week in the library mall for multiple hours each day AND informing students of the VOTE (the AD office did not tell students to vote Yes or No, just made people aware). If people were not aware of the vote, the school can’t do anything else but send out a damn text message and even then the students wouldn’t care..

DRC position outlook series: Will QB Mason Fine stay healthy?
BTG_Fan1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Quinn, I believe only has 1 more season then he is done and likely moving into a GA role with the staff. He will be a good guy to have Martin and Bean learn from as well. -
DRC position outlook series: Will QB Mason Fine stay healthy?
BTG_Fan1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
If I recall correctly, vs UTSA the defender didn’t get his arms up and they were going for knockout hit on Fine.. Also the pass went 10 yards and mason wasn’t moving to his right or left I believe neither. The Quinn throw vs FAU was moving to his left, throwing the ball 20-30 yards down field over a defender that had their arms up knowing it was 4th down coming from his throwing shoulder.. Quinn had a much more difficult throw when it comes down to ranking the passes. -
2018 C-USA Preseason Power Rankings
BTG_Fan1 replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
HOD> NM> NO.. Give me a HOD match up vs almost anyone because it’s another chance for the school to market to alumni in DFW on top of the ability to show improvement from SLs first year. NM while isn’t a sexy location, is vs the MW conference, so it would be vs a tougher team likely. NO is a great bowl and everything, but again the Sunbelt tie in is the only problem. If it were vs the AAC, no one would have a problem with it. -
Great Adam Boedeker story on Kason Martin
BTG_Fan1 replied to MeanGreenZen's topic in Mean Green Football
It’s the chicken or egg.. did the WRs, OL, RB make him or did Martin make them? I will say it will be interesting and a very encouraging sign is his dad is now a D1 QB coach at a P5 program.- 15 replies

DRC: UNT students set to vote on fee for second time
BTG_Fan1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
You said that people don’t know but is it’s very well known around campus the vote.. Sorry she isn’t aware but it’s literally all over social media, blasted out in emails, etc.. -
I believe that SL seems to go with whatever is best for the team. He has had higher passing % some years, and higher runs %.. I would think in Masons 3rd year, it will be more on Mason (hopefully) to be the star of the offense and not option 1B like it looked like when Wilson was going. Heres to hoping Mason can make audibles at the line and have a larger hand with in game adjustments potentially.
-
The RBs and OL both benefit from each other. If an RB has great vision like Wilson did, they can help set up the OL and cut towards the lane they see once it opens up. The OL can also make an RB look better than they are if they can make solid blocking lanes.. This OL didn’t seem to be busting wide open lanes for the RBs when Wilson was out, but Wilson did have multiple times he bounce play away from where the play was going to find a big hole.
-
Having to replace Wilson will be very tough, and it maybe as big or bigger than Trevor Moore and potentially similar to replacing Keena. We saw how the RBs were not able to pass block like Wilson, nor did it seem like they had the vision/cutback ability of Wilson, who could see a lane before and set it up and explode through it. We also suffered some major blowouts without Wilson, he was a security blanket and someone that was the heart and soul of the offense, it seemed. Yes, Smith and Johnson had a few solid games like Lamar, Rice.. but they still struggled in games like Troy, FAU (both times). A legitimate question is and should be, was the play calling slightly different with Wilson (Wilson seemed like a pure RB more than a 3rd down RB like the current group looks like) than it will be with Smith, Johnson and Torrey?

DRC: UNT students set to vote on fee for second time

The school has sent out multiple emails this week about this vote... literally all she has to do is check her inbox -
DRC: UNT students set to vote on fee for second time
BTG_Fan1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
It may have an impact.. WB and SL could then jump at a slightly less desirable gig potentially because the students/fan base isn’t willing to jump on to assist them and the program. They will be aware of it because of emails, signs up around campus, and social media.. no idea how she wasn’t aware about it -
What are the options that UNT would have? He was extended an offer basically a year ago.
-
Lol I may have to unadopt Darden for Shorter.. he maybe the most exciting recruit we have gotten under SL

DRC: Who won signing day in C-USA? Hint -- think buffalo
BTG_Fan1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Marshall for sure and they added a grad transfer QB that Tennessee and Baylor wanted as well -
'19 QB Maverick McIvor (San Angelo)
BTG_Fan1 replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
SL has recruited 7 QBs here.. 2 have played and 1 Has been solid in Fine, the other was manageable (Morris).. SL has had 3 QB leave the program (O’Hara, Isadore, Cason), another RS (Pearson) and one being on campus 4 weeks now.. You’re comparing a Head Coach to an OC/QB Coach.. SL makes the determination and has the final say, while Chico only had a say and not the final say.. Look at the differences as well in how this offense appeals to players compared to Macs. I would sure hope we can see improvement going from a running team to a passing team with SL/GH here.. But the resume of Chico says SEC QB Coach, and he has brought in one of the highest rated QB recruits in the conference to UTEP. That QB recruit would be the highest rated recruit as well to make it to campus under this staff as well. -
AD Wren Baker attempts to clarify student fee increase
BTG_Fan1 replied to Skipper's topic in Mean Green Football
Yes they are, and I would suggest.. if you are a recent alumni (some are on the board), for you to attempt to log in and vote.. Also, if anyone knows students.. talk to them and present evidence that shows how improving athletics helps and the increase in other organization budgets -
'19 QB Maverick McIvor (San Angelo)
BTG_Fan1 replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
It would be a nice point but Rivers only went 2 picks later (to end up being traded for the #1 pick) he isn’t even a sure bet with the issues in Chicago.. Nearly every Super Bowl MVP is the QB of the winning team, while Foles was nice (and should be a major selling point for SL) he has been bouncing around for years following his 7-TD game the first time around in Philly. Rivers is better than any QB SL has coached.. but SL has better players than Chico in Gronk vs Rivers -
'19 QB Maverick McIvor (San Angelo)
BTG_Fan1 replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Who has SL coached that is better than Rivers? Foles? Lol yea Rivers is better.. Sudfield, is a backup that was cut by the redskins.. Marquez Williams isn’t even in the NFL.. Tubsiky or however it’s spelt has potential but has done 0 so far.. -
Then offer him a PWO, and then give him a scholarship once the season starts..
-
Only had 19 scholarships after signing 6 extra kids last year..
-
Hopefully with it be well attended since they are giving a couple weeks notice
