Howard played over multiple of those guys and filled in when Darden has been injured for a game.. not saying it’s not the reason, but the staff thought highly enough for him to play over some of them

Going to toss this out there.. but it’s very disappointing the stars did not add at the deadline.. E. Kane could have easily been had with what SJ paid.. let’s hope that Spezza can figure it out and this offense can get going again.. oh and the goalies can make a few stops as well

I’ve said it before and will again.. our current LBs lack size and get swallowed up by OL. Jordan Murray doesn’t have the quickness to be a tackle and he nearly got Fine killed multiple times (Remember when Fine went down at Iowa). Put him at DT, and he is a wide body who can eat blockers allowing EJ and whoever next to him to hopefully roam. Not to mention he is 6’6 and would be difficult for most QBs to throw around if/when he got his arms up in the passing lanes.

Yes beating down a Liberty team will do so much for UNT when CUSA is likely to have another down year next year. Also, Liberty beat Baylor.. UNT lost to Portland St. These games are now guaranteed Ws. Troy run us out of the building... We stopped SMU for the first 2 drives and then once they put in the backups backups.. FAU beat us down x2, and the first time we gave up a Conference Record, in a conference known for offense.. that alone should have lead to Reff being fired.. Next, so now working in the office doesn’t allow for someone to have an opinion now? I get replacing Army because of the systems they play. BUT UNT replaced Army which was a very solid team that gets Top 25 votes and is a beatable program (for UNT) that also brings in a huge fan base (Believe this years game was 2nd or 3rd largest EVER at Apogee) for Liberty.. I’m going to take a guess and say, I doubt Liberty when they play at Apogee brings 1/4 the fans Army did.. That alone is a huge chunk of change, ontop of playing a likely worse opponent.. If UNT had gotten a million dollars like ODU or so to go play great, but this is a straight 1 for 1 with a worst opponent that brings nothing to the table to get fans out to Apogee.

Thats an improvement from other games this defense played, that they just got run out of the house. so yes, I would take 600 yards allowed vs a Team that is a national name and solid program compared to Liberty. Also remember, Army is was getting top25 votes, and we beat them and they brought a solid crowd as well. If I also recall correctly, we go to Liberty first and then they come here in a few years.

While I agree our 1 and 2 is solid.. Englis has never played a college down, and had multiple foot surgeries. Adding a younger DT/NG is a MUST. The DT Brown that went to SMU, was a major hit because he was a 6’3 290+ kid that could move and get out into space. We need to commit to a spot for Young. Honestly, he is should be DE in this scheme and it will serve him best.

Thanks for the update. Solid pair of LeBlanc and Shaw for them to grow together on the DL, but with very very worrisome the depth of the DT/NG spot now. Also, by chance do you recall where Reynolds was lining up? The DE from Grapevine Faith that committed to Air Force, then left AF to come to UNT just days before camp started? Kind of hoping they stand him up at the Jack, he seemed to have solid size for a Jack and was explosive in HS

The reason people wish for us into the MW is better it’s a better conference. You are always wanting to improve and play against better teams. The reason people do not travel to UTSA is because of the terrible experiences some fans have had and because it’s not viewed as a rival such as SMU ontop of the drive. LAT had a good turn out when it was on Stadium, and they bring a solid crowds 2 years ago. Rice I believe we had more UNT fans at their game than they had of their own fans. Many reasons the students didn’t vote.. 1-Time, 2-They put it off, 3- They didn’t care, and the list goes on.. The AD office did as much as they could from social media, emails, signs on campus, T-shirt stands with Players from the teams talking about the benefits among other things

I forgot who, but another CUSA school is playing Liberty and is getting paid 1Million to play Liberty... UNT from what Vito has reported is it’s just a 1 and 1 for UNT...

Completely missed the point.. that was just some of the major reasons students didn’t go. The reasons you are students at the major bowls is because it does have to be so quick to turn around and play, nor during finals week

If we play TXST I’m not worried about UNT traveling, I’m thinking we get more TXST fans here than CSU which is what I care about. It’s another game in the state and would help with recruiting saying we beat them on the field as well.

It was poorly attended because of the quick turn around, students having exams, students going home for the break and it not being a sexy match up. NO is a complete day drive back and forth plus the game, compared to a few hours like the HoD

Where was LeBlanc lining up? Also, I agree having Choice and his NFL history helps make up for our short comings in the past years.

I would love the KU match up because I think UNT matched up well vs them. They are the whip boy of the Big12, and someone who isn’t a football 1st school helping level the playing field. Mizzou I feel would be a good addition because I think a lot of fans would come out to see them. KSU and CU would be good teams but I don’t think we are ready for them yet.

So with WB saying he was talked with TXST, here is a question for us to discuss.. FCS Game, 2 G5’s could be TXST and SMU, and an a similar match up with a P5. I’m assuming that is acceptable or would we prefer not to play SMU and TXST in the same year? If that happened we would be playing 5 Texas programs in a single year

I understand that, and would hope that WB gives out some details. I do feel like once the IPF is started, we will see more people donating that have been on the fence.

They could but the weight room is in need of a huge amount of space for expansion and wouldn’t be an easy fix. I’m hoping it’s part of the delay with the IPF, is waiting for a football weight room.

I would think everyone knows about the fee and how it will not end up with students getting a new bill for X dollars this semester but seeing something like a bond discussed to break ground would be a very big breath of fresh air. The IPF has been a long and drawn out process with the IPF seeming to have been stuck on this 700k amount for a long period of time. I say long and drawn out because WB first semester was saying we need and want an IPF, 2nd was visit and start on designs of an IPF, with people thinking/hoping it could be at least in the works last summer. Then we thought oh with the signs going up it would be once the season ended and now it’s even father back without all the funding in place. We all know it *should* eventually get done because it’s a huge selling point that WB and SL have been talking about since they got here. But with the deals of the Soccer/Track Stadium being moved back a semester, and how the new Visitor Center/Dorm (that is going up around Kerr hall) led to the parking lot being blocked off for a year after breaking ground makes me worry this is something that will be delayed again. I’m just in the camp that you can only pitch recruits on designs and photos of what it will eventually look like for so long. I also think once the IPF is started it will lead to more events being held at UNT and another item to pitch to donors as well.

We shouldn’t be trying to get to Status Quo.. if we are going to upgrade, I want UNT to be the new standard or if anything be in a class/level above who are competing against (LAT, SMU, UTSA, etc) and schools we would like to compete with (UH, TT, etc).

Guyton was a #1 and he will only get better.. he came in and did the job that he needed to do as the #1 and you see that in the improvement in the group across the board by him being a deep threat How many big time transfers have we had that do 0 as well.
