Don't Want To Spill The Beans, But Look Here

Denton recruiting station is by gate 4.. if anyone wants to go find out -
Yep he is on campus and on the sideline each week.. Wyche is on campus, and on the team.. he is on the sidelines.. he is likely being RSed (I would assume) because he has been passed up by Johnson, Smith

Thought on the Unlikely event of a coaching change...
BTG_Fan1 replied to Caw Caw's topic in Mean Green Football
3 of them.. a 4* WR, a 3* Safety, and the 3* RB... all spots of need.. Dashawn White the LB for AM, he is teammates with our current commit, Nixon.. would be nice to add him as well -

Agreed, would love to have him and see if could bring any of his recruits with him from AM -
We Need Better Advertising to Students
BTG_Fan1 replied to AustinFromUNT's topic in Mean Green Football
They have sent out multiple emaila this week (one of Wednesday and Today).. tweeted about on UNT athletic accounts and have signs up..the text to claim tickets also went out today as well.. they even said next home game is next weekend multiple times.. would like to know how many of these 22 actually go to games... -
While the king decommitments hurt, it’s likely a blessing.. Gage most likely never would have made it, johnson is an Rb and we proved we can find good ones late (Siggers). The OL king was in a logjam from SL signees and commits this year. Vada King was likely going to be starter/rotation guy but I’m sure we can find another LB. Finish this season out successfully and we may see a solid change in recruiting

Why Do We Struggle With Recruiting?
BTG_Fan1 replied to AustinFromUNT's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Honestly what jobs could be open that it affects UNT recruiting? Tech, AM, Ark would lead to a chain reaction of kids re-entering the pool.. Dream scenario, Sumlin gets fired opening up the entire AM class.. Martin signs and brings his Manvel crew with that are going to AM with him to denton, and Nixon brings his buddy and multiple visitor DaShawn White the LB -

Yep, my bad if it confused people thinking this was the same group -
UNT Freshman Redshirt list best as I can tell
BTG_Fan1 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I believe that was the plan as well with Novil as well. He and Greg White would dress out for every game but never got in, and seemed like emergency guys.. Guess it finally happened. -
You are aware that UNT has a club team right? UNT could very easily just have the team use and skate at the Stars Facility in Frisco, with UNT already having a campus in Frisco as well. People are not calling for Hockey as much as they are calling for baseball. I'm a huge hockey fan, but building a facility is not likely when UNT would likely much rather rent/lease the ice and pair up with DP-Frisco and the Stars.

As stated in the other posts on here.. LR (Lincoln Rley) had some interest in the UNT in the past, and he was in the start of his 1st season (I believe) at OU as OC after jumped from (ECU, I believe). Long story short, LR was a hot name at the time because OU was performing well just a few games into his tender, and we were wanting to move to the Air-Raid offense. He was a Texas coach, and a young guy making him appealing. Somehow it got out that UNT had interest in LR or that we had talked to him and he pulled his name out or just flat out turned down UNT after it got out.. No idea what all actually happened because that was before my time on here. I do recall it seemed like it was down to SL or DM.. Cumbie was rumored to be going to UT to be the OC, but he was the fence with Strong being on the hotseat... Cumbie ended up getting a CO-OC job at TCU with DM going from OC to CO-OC and staying at TCU. Whose your source? If RV was a "dead man walking" then why did they allow him to stick around for another 6/7 months?

Plenty of chances when vs LT that Guyton was 1 on 1 vs a True-Freshman.. Throw it up to him and let him make a play... Ashton in a past podcast even talked about him talking with Guyton saying he needs to improve on press and being double covered... Yes fine is getting pressured, but again.. You have a p5 WR vs CUSA CBs.. Guyton should not be going long stretches of not getting or seeing targets.. I get the idea of going to other open guys, but you have to open it up every once and awhile, just like they did with Rico.. Guyton should be getting plays specifically designed for him.. He was single-handly the passing game vs USM with 14/15 catches, with our next pass-catcher getting getting 2/3/4.. Had the TDs vs SMU, Iowa among other games? This offense was more explosive when he was getting his looks and he has been under-used in since UTSA. Agreed, Guyton should be getting more touches, followed by Lawerence/Rico then so on... If teams have to respect Guyton, it opens it up for Wilson

Let’s just hope they don’t have the same crew working if it is at FAU
-
Not at all, he is fine.. it just seems like Mason isn’t trusting Guyton to separate from the man to man he is facing. LT pushed him a lot and I wonder if that what is happening and he is just having to practice to improve. I do wish they would motion Guyton more like they did vs UTSA and even have him out of the slot just to see if you can get him in a match up with a LB. also, don’t think it hurts Rico/Lawrence have been with Fine for semester longer than Guyton.

Agreed RV hires have been solid in terms this year and WBB made the conference tourney last year. One thing that has really improved under NS and WB, is NS I think has come to realization that Sports can open up UNT to even more people. With that being said WB has brought in a more business like approach which has seen donations increase, and the programs getting the support they need. No idea but wondering if soccer,VBall, football took off at the same time because od the sports nutrition guy.
