I gotta say a few things.. 1- Fans should be Fans, but fans/students also pay for the football team budget not some mega TV deal so we should be able to “say” what we want.. 2- If this is on the players why is Reff a) keeping them out there if they keep screwing up instead of replacing them, b) Why are they not learning from these repeated mistakes they have made ALL SEASON since as eye-placement, c) it has been said on BTG that the younger players reported to the “leaders/Seniors” and they dealt with it instead of the coaches and if that is the case they did not allow Ref to fix this after the REPEATED failures and blowouts.. They have had 2 season in this scheme, 2 bowl seasons as well to improve, on top of the spring and summer.. This defense regressed this year and did not improve.. if it’s on the players why did Reff stick with the same guys, and if It was about the #s, then why did Ref not adjust the defensive game plan??? I’m sorry but 6 non-show defensive performances in 14 games does not and should not allow the man to keep his job..

I was watching and at times, Troy was in a 3/4 so it’s not like it would be a super huge overhaul.. To me, SL/WB need to honestly go get him or someone of his caliber. Making a hire like that will do a lot of good in terms of changing fans mindsets from 2 straigh beatdowns to we are trending up and looking to improve/invest in this program.. they made a splash with GMac, and they need to make a splash with the DC spot..

1- We have not till recently started to invest and improve the facilities around Apogee.. WB said it once he got here, we had Apogee and then everything else was below average/worse than he had expected.. Ive said it over and over but an IPF is not going to leave UNT like SL could potentially.. Also, HS now have facilities as good or better than UNT and kids again why would they go to a downgrade and someone not willing to improve them? 2- The thing with UTSA is it’s outside of DFW.. when all of us were 18-22 we wanted to go out and be on our own.. UTSA also has a dome and it’s a draw to kids because hey it’s a dome.. UTSA also is the only major draw ususally when they are playing as well so it’s a fan base that could potentially pack the house.. Another thing, we have seen them hosting recruits at the resort like hotels in SA, we don’t have anything like that here in Denton and in the past we have put recruits up in the hotels next to Texas Motorspeed. UTSA also brought in a salesman then a coach, we brought in a coach then a salesman. What is great to see is that UNT is now starting to invest in the facilities like the IPF, with hopes of doing the expansion to the nutritional center and hopefully a football only weight room. Things like this will catch us up with other schools, but if they are done correctly they could be an asset in us taking the lead and being cutting edge over someone else.

I’ve been wondering this and trying to think.. but is there any DCs out there we would have Interest in potentially that don’t have a job now because of all the coaching changes? I would love to see SL and WB go out bring in the Troy DC, but no idea if something would have to be worked out since he is under contract with them as well.

If it’s odd, then ignore me.. just like I tell everyone else.. I’m not sorry you aren’t part of the joke.. But This was not a “High-quality bowl”.. it was a high quality match up with Troy but low quality for UNT, because of the tie-in with the Sunbelt, not the match up but the match ups conference. We overachieved this season and to many people do not realize that, and we were in a position we should not have been in.. We went 4/5-0 in close games, and that is not common.. We lucked into to many wins and we got a match up we were not ready for... We settled on the NO bowl and never turned back.. This offseason is critical for this team and the AD office.. the OL has to improve greatly and this defense as well.. We have potentially one of the best QBs and we can not let it go to waste, but he has to show progress.. Next year he needs to be able to change the play instead of this stay with the play we take the result, he has to get the INTs down and improve in not getting hit so much.. the AD office needs to find a way to correct the terrible feeling Fans have right now after the last 2 beat downs as well. Fans blame Reff, the players defend Reff saying its not the system it’s the players.. If it’s the players messing up then why the hell are they out there! Why is the DC getting bossed around by players on whose playing? If it’s on the players when do they learn? We heard if players messed up the “leaders of the team would correct it”, but we suffered multiple blowouts and defensive let downs all year.. This was game 27 under SL and this system.. they have had 30 additional practices these 2 past years as well, so it’s nothing new.. The fans that keep saying we were 1-11 or 1-15 2 years ago, when do we let it go? Do we let it go once all those guys are gone? do we let it go once SL has a full 85, because he was at 80 to start this year? Stop using 1–11 and he inherited a crap roster.. He has brought in a ton of guys.. the offense is mostly SL guys, Defense, and now ST as well.. These are guys this staff picked and they talked so highly of. No one on the staff uses 1–11 as an excuse and it’s very #OldDenton of us to do that. The forrest is thick because of the mindset that fans use like 1-11 2 years ago, they need time in the system, SL need more of his guys.. The offense was nearly entirely his guys today.. Murray, Woody, Smiley were the only non-SL guys.. Defense the non SL guys were McClain, BG, Young, Andy, Tillman, Preston even though he was replaced by Davis.

So you are trying to point out that the UNT offense is better than LSUs offense because we scored 30? 6 of that 30 came from the defense.. the offense only scored 24

Agreed, saw a few times that Murray would let his man by, and Fine would be hit and laying on the field and Murray wouldn’t get him up..
