Here is a photo of the hit clearly to the head of the QB, and prefect view as to why it was targeting. http://www.dentonrc.com/sports/sports-headlines/20161105-losing-mcclain-hinders-mean-green.ece

The way the QB slid, he is down as soon starts his slide.. if he had dove head first then he is fair game.. but when you slide feet first, you are down as soon as you start. Also, I was in the Wing as well, it was clear he made contact with the QBs helmet. They don't consider it because it's a rule. If you consider this or that then it leaves a lot of room for error. When I saw this, it's a call that is called at times but something that can be easily avoided... but agree about the "act like you have been there." The guy Henderson was destroying them and ya we had a great play chad, but he nearly got flagged again for same thing in the 4th.. but I guess being nearly doubled up let the refs glance over it.

UNT could easily get the time donated since it paid through taxes and would also generate ad revenue from companies or even lead to people coming to Denton for different reasons as well..

Thank you -
Honestly great turn out after what happened last year... Thought alot of people would have been turned away from the match up and the massacre that happened last year

Regarding threads for players we aren't recruiting

Hey I know you have posted the link/email before... But what is it again to send in players we think the staff should look at? Thank you as ahead of time. @BillySee58 @TheReal_jayD -
What was the reason for the 15-yd pentaly on Chad Davis on the drive that McClain got tossed? Was it because he was standing over the WR waving his arms incomplete? Also, it was stupid for McClain to go for the QB there.. the QB had given himself up and was sliding, but the rule of targeting is any contact with the head of the other teams player with the players helmet as well. McClain did hit the QB in the head and that is why, he got tossed. Again stupid play by McClain that never should have happened and McClain had enough time to not dive and hit the QB.

Honestly you can say that 21.8k is horrible, but after the blow out that we took last year on homecoming, this should be viewed as progress.. Also, yes the Refs sucked and blew a few calls in terms of penalties, but some of them were just plan stupid by our players... Such as the drive that McClain got tossed.. LA shoulda started at their own 15, but we hit the guy that was clearly going out/was already out of bounds.. the penalty on Davis for another 15 yards(which was stupid, but then again he was standing over the WR so it was 50/50) and then the hit on the QB by McClain when the QB was clearly sliding. We gave them 40 free yards. Stupid Penalties and again, terrible tackling.. Blame the refs and they should be, but honestly we were in it for the 1st half.. but this defense has not been the same since the bye week... maybe that 2 weeks of studying up on Army has hurt us like I thought it may. Also, another example of terrible tacking was the last TD by LA WR Henderson(I believe this was his name, the kid with the 5 TDs.) Brookes played off, QB does a quick pass to the WR, the WR barely if at all jukes and jogs in and Brooks just looked like he was tackling a ghost. Again, yes the final score shows a blow out and honestly it was, but I thought we won or atleast made the 1st half a toss up.. We just couldn't stop them when needed, nor could we move the ball when needed. Also, please can we start throwing the ball deep. The entire 2nd half they basically played press and Mason would either throw it short or just hold it way to long. Honestly at times it was straight Man to Man with no safety deep, and they would even show where they would be blitzing from he didn't see it.

Yes very large crowd was great to see

We need to do what SMU has done, the past 2 classes I believe every player they have signed is from the state of TX. We need to do this, I think. The lack of games on TV, I think also hurts us compared to UTSA who is broadcasted in the SA Area i believe.. UNT i mean for real, we have a school that is know for Radio/TV, they should be buying up air time on the Denton County Public Broadcast channel and having the kids run it for real-world experience, as well. Offering up stuff like this would help the school get more publicity, and have the students more prepared for careers as well. Also could the lack of recruiting be because of coaches trying to focus on the games or are they just not going out as much as they were in the past? Also, what are some fixes that we can do as a staff? Because I know they get emails and tweets from people on here about different kids, but its no help if they don't purpose it or anything. or is the staff thinking and believing if they win on the field, kids will come here?

'17 OL Josh Donovan (College Station HS) [Verbal: TVCC]

I would think if no one else offers and he doesn't sign else where UNT would talk to him about as a blue-shirt.... just to get more depth and position depth if they still think of him as a viable option for this scheme. -
'17 CB Hanif Muhammad (Clear Falls)

MGB breaking news -- Key recruit decommits from UNT
BTG_Fan1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
And all those people that were saying getting Newman was a dumb idea... because we had the #3 Center in the state... -
I think this is pretty much set for one of the Lines, either OL or DL.. Would like to have him as a 3-3 or 3-4 DE because of his ability to take on and occupy multiple Lineman. We are only in a 3-3-5 because of the # of DBs that we have.. in a year or 2 we could be running a 3-4 or even 4-3 possibly just depends on the players.. In a 4-3, this kid could shift inside and be a 1 Tech and take on the C/G as well. and be faster then them as well.

I'm wondering if Donovan questioned why they went after Newman, or if Donovan was told he could compete at C then end up at G... I doubt there was a problem school or commitment-wise, I would think it was either he hasn't been playing up to the standard of his JR tape possibly? or the commitment by Newman scared him off. I doubt it had to do with playing time with the # of moves and shifts we have made on the OL this year as well. -
Feeling he would be a good DE for this 3-4... or will this be a defense that molds into different sets as I would assume with Ek and Reff, in the future?
-
Army at UTEP was a home game because of Fort Bliss... not surprising

Looked alot worse against Rice

I know about the SMU games, and i"m assuming SMU has it set up that they don't do any other college games?

'17 WR/SS Kamren Curl (Muskogee, OK)

Now decommitted from Tech... -
What I don't get is with UNT being known as a school for Radio and TV... why don't we broadcast on the Ticket with their UNT Alumi, along with having the students film and produce the games and we give out free links to High school coaches for them to give out to players? This gives the students real-world practice with the equipment and gives the players a chance to see us play. Also, something else I have noticed, and not sure if others have.. but all/most of this kids we are bringing in seem to be coming from winning programs...

'17 QB Robbie Blosser (California) [Verbal: MissSt]
BTG_Fan1 replied to BillySee58's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Totally agree, would love to keep adding more talent to the QB Pool... My only worry is, if we have a lot of depth, would it or could it scare off potentially kids in the future? -
24/7 i believe had him as a .770.. looked like he would fall in behind Davis but ahead of king
