Yes we take the bowl game even as a 5-7 team... it's extra practice time for this very young team..

I'd like to think the staff was smart enough to bring in all possibly recruits that they have a real chance at getting tonite.. Also, it may have helped to bring him in not because of the game, or the gameplan, or even the helmets... but because of the 2 WRs that were forced to sit out... It shows to the parents SL will hold the players accountable, but it will also show that a Walk-On Freshman WR can come in start here possibly if you work hard enough.

I've seen their QB light up teams more talented than us... and their RB is as just dominate as well... when we can beat schools like LA Tech, WKU, SMU, UTSA regularly then ill start drinking the Kool Aid...

One thing I don't get.. Is why was Gray at there for KR instead of Tyler Wilson? and I do agree with the stupid Illegal Formations, how is this stuff still happening.. these guys should be smart enough to know these small and very simple but important rules. and I do agree, the PR Fumble by Smiley was the dumbest thing... Wave for it you have the lead, play smart.. and the Fluchse thing I do agree about him waving for it but I think with him being a RS Senior it was his one last time, and yes I do agree that it was very stupid reason if thats it... The sad thing is, alot of these penalties are small, minor details that add up and hurt us all the time... We did this vs UTSA,LATech, and Rice... Rice we came back and won, thank god... but the others it was just minor mess up over and over and over... the worst was the drive that got McClain kicked out vs LAT that started out with the Unnecessary Roughness out of bounds... then the Chad Davis taunting, then the McClain ejection.. good teams don't make these stupid little mistakes, and when they do they fix them... we apparently don't simple things.. like these guys learning someone needs to be covering an OT ever play. and that OL have to line up correctly all of these are more mind-numbing than something like a false-start or holding... these things have to be fixed, and something that Fine and the offense guys need to go over..

With the lack of pressure we get at times, and the stupid penalties that we take at times.. we would have to play with running time I fear...

That offense has weapons as well as that defense... and this team can't play against teams that have weapons like them...

do we have a recording of her talking to them for this interview? i was at the game and would love to see how bad she did

I'm just going to say the Big 12 has some very good, and if not great offenses... just look at what WKU did vs us or even LA Tech... or should I even bring up Florida? and my last comment... Have you seen our OLine... yea that should be even more reason to doubt us even getting to 3 points...

I'm not sure that their is a major jump up in the ladder.. Also, these coaches have families as well... SL I believe also would give Baker a chance to match or even better the TU offer... Plus yes, TU is closer to home and could be another step closer to his dream job, but he has all of the tools here to build something truly great with it being close to home, a large amount of playing time for transfers, fertile recruiting grounds and his buy out... IDK the budget for Tulsa, but I'm going to doubt they would pay a buyout + his raise and new contract along with all of his new coaches as well... They would'could easily go out and get a big name OC or even recently fired HC from a big school to come in, and pay less to them than SL. agreed...

when you say sleeping giant and fan base, i got confused... When we were good back in the day going to the bowls in the Sun Belt and playing Baylor UT etc, we still didn't sale out Fouts... and I agree with Mickey.. getting a beat down will not/won't help... We literally lost damn near half the crowd tonite and we were tied going into the 4th... being on the bad end of beat down will only hurt this team... we need to Win vs UTEP, and win the bowl game to build some real positive energy going into the off-season and next year. If that means laying another beat down on Army, lets do this.. but if it means playing TCU or UT nope sorry...

I think SL is smart enough to know that right now, UNT is his best chance at getting into a P5 programs HC slot... Not jumping to some place like Tulsa or some other mid-major school, and then have to start all over again just like he did this year with UNT...Him going to Tulsa would mean re-hiring an entire staff, going out and re-connecting and recruiting more kids that may fit your scheme better then the previous staff. I think if your worried about Tulsa, a good match for them would/could be Riley or even Kliff he get fired at Tech(which I doubt), or maybe even Charlie Strong, it was rumored UNT had talked to Riley when they started looking at possible candidates then when word got out he backed out..So that shows that Riley is/would be interested in a Mid-tier conference school, but I would think with what he is doing this year he could be in line for a bigger school...

I do think Briles should be out for a while.. But Baylor is out there as well as a school that is/could be looking for a coach.. I believe Grove was only given a 1 year deal, or could be keeping the seat warm for Briles Jr? Also has it happened recently a young coach like SL going from a small school to a mid-tier school? I would think Tulsa would want to go after a bigger/sexier name.. Not that SL isn't but there are a # of other OC or DCs at bigger schools...

Not going to lie, those last 2 drives for USM deep in their zone was far louder than earlier in the game..

What would that dream be? any P5 school? or juust someone like OU??

The funny thing is A- where is she going to park it? it wont fit into her Apartment or dorm room LOL... I'll be looking at the local Denton Pawn Shops and eBay in the coming week

Goree and Willie Robinson were the 2 WRs... Thought it was interesting that Mcintyre caught our eye and started over Tyler Wilson... Also, wonder if this will help push Goree and them to become more consist with how Smiley did tonite

I think Meachum at TCU would have interest at HOU, but I could be wrong.. I thought he worked at HOU in the past, but I could be wrong again. Also, as much as I think SL would have interest in Tulsa, I'm not sure their school is willing to pay a buyout + a raise for SL but I could be wrong. Also, I could see some high profiled coaches bouncing back at schools like Tech and Houston or even Tulsa like Les Miles.. Along with top programs losing Coordinators. But one thing I would have interest in, is what if we somehow got Kliff to come in here... I know we got GH but Kliff has had some great offenses...

I thought the same thing as well..Got back into my car and was driving home with my family from the game, and nothing.. I def. think this is something that could be changed with time.

Looking at this WKU and MTSU are likely to switch.. WKU recruits heavily out of Florida.. Also, most conferences usually refund the schools that go bowling in terms of Travel/Hotels... Also as if you look down, it has UTSA playing in the Bahama Bowl, that will cost a nice bit of change. Having UNT and LA playing in close to home games will help offset UTSA Having WKU playing in FL, LAT in NO, UNT in DFW, and then MTSU in New Mexico, with UTSA down in the Bahama's... I do understand the thoughts that the conference winner would like to go with the sexiest bowl, but from a cash-strap conference this would make the most sense.. Also, it would be very interesting to see the turnout in terms of attendance as well with us playing Army here during the holidays. Could be a descent sized crowd with Military Bases like Fort Hood, Bliss, and Sam Houston and the large # of Vets that live in the DFW area as well. The funny thing is the weather here for the bowl game, could be nearly the same as it was at West Point as well lol, and I could only image what Ek and Reff could do with 1 month to plan for Army this time around

That is good to hear and hopefully this will give Morris more confidence and also lets us bring in fine if healthy for a few plays as a change of pace QB.. would be great
