  1. Why would I do that.. that kid is to old.. already brought this up to WB for when we start up the baseball program.. 22 months old and the kid is hitting line drives, and should be 18 and willing to sign but let’s hope we have Baseball by then https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6358104406994620416
  2. You keep talking about the SWC but current students have no idea about the SWC nor do most fans that in their mid 30s.. The good old days of the SWC if for the older individuals that UNT doesn’t need to target.. UNT needs to be targeting recent alumni..
  3. I think it was said he had an Toledo offer on his twitter.. I’d take Toledo and Akron was a solid MAC team as well. Ohio was like 8-4, and NMST went to a bowl as well.
  4. The other has an FAU offer as well.. I’d be fine picking them both up even with the OL depth issues because they are tackles and have the best offer lists of any OL we have gotten recently
  5. We have the likes of Parish, Newman, Moses, Brammer, Weatherspoon that just RS.. we have heard good things (but again it’s been said on here, and I don’t recall an exact article/post in which it was said or just hearsay). But to me, Parish can’t do much worse than Murray getting Fine nearly killed 2 or 3 times every game.. Moses was said if he had 2-4 inches taller he would be a P5 Guy..
  6. The Woodlands just had 2 of their D1 Tackles decommitment from SMU and Texas State. https://247sports.com/player/peyton-fifield-46042629 https://247sports.com/player/jake-syptak-46039075 I know we have discussed depth along the OL but these 2 have solid offer lists and Syptak is a kid we have already offered.
  7. I’d rather see 3-4 OL and bump up that DL/LB number. One thing you see at larger schools that are successful are the continued wave after wave of DL and pass-rushers. Not to poo-poo or anything but I do kind of hope something comes up with the Carroll situation. Feel like that scholarship is needed for a more impactful addition or another spot.
  8. I’ve brought this up before.. Mason will be at UNT 4 years, Wilson had 5 years between NCST and Wisconsin.. they are the same height or within an inch of each other, and Mason is about 19 lbs behind Wilson (204 lbs and mason reported at 185) from his official NFL combine measurables, with Wilson likely putting on some weight pre-combine.. so ideally, Mason is about 10-15 lbs behind. Lets just hope SL/GH work with Mason on getting under center some and allowing him to change the plays... this will go a long way in showing and helping him for the next level.
  9. UTEP has turned out solid OL, I wonder when this offer was extended.. if it was the old UTEP it’s very encouraging as well
  10. Love this addition, and feel like Preston is a huge OL add to the right side, but the concern (and I stated this earlier about getting off topic in thread and tried to pull it back on topic) was about depth and how Preston and the younger OL affect it. Preston seems like a plug and play right off the bat because of the offer list (believe it was like 21-27 offers, and 50+ schools talked to him according to 24/7). But adding a kid like Carroll for example (when we have multiple RS-FR OL) in front of him just seems eating another scholarship when we have Mose, Weatherspoon, Brown, on top of Woodworth, the JUCO OL from last year (I will Butcher his name if I tried) along with Barr, and the Aubrey kid (who is a BS (blueshirt)). To me, we talk about developing kids.. buts it’s hard to develop them with starters get a majority of snaps during game week, backups get a majority of the remaining.. the 3rd/4th team OLs are not getting much (if any) truly meaningful snaps.
  11. Not to be that guy, but Marshall this year has 3 RS-FR playing on their OL and they allowed something like 20 sacks. I get us getting depth, but this OL is nearly 4 entire OLs deep..
  12. That’s understandable if that’s case, because I’m going to go out on a limb and say there isn’t likely a NCAA transfer list out there.. Just worrisome that It’s another talented transfer we miss out on from TCU.
  13. The question I asked in the very first line.. Where was UNT.. no ways does it the throw anyone under the bus, it just asks how do we miss out on kids like this repeatedly. 0 UNT coaches follow him.. The kid is from Louisiana so maybe it was he directly contacted LT staff but as it appears 0 contact was made with or from UNT. So again, where was UNT?
  14. Agreed, I’m sure there are plenty of people who would rather park at Apogee than over at fouts. I know plenty of the Frats/Sororities had parents/alumni come up on select games willing to buy parking passes to find out they couldn’t. Just no idea how people who donate would feel having more people packed in potentially.
  15. I agree we need depth, but if we look at the #s. The guys brought in by the staff have not shown themselves in terms of starting on the OL. Henson, Mayfield are the only ones to start the whole year, the JUCO center as well took over mid year. It’s encouraging yes, but under SL we have signed something like 10 or more HS OL on top of 4/5 more JUCOs/Transfers. I’m just hoping I’m the future we can have classes of 3 OL, and 4/5 DL/LB then the rest at the skill spots. Also my biggest concern and sorry to derail this kids thread because he will likely have an impact for us next year is the HS OL paired with the likely RS of the QBs is nearly 1/3 of the class won’t even had a chance to see the field and this is when we need to be reinforcing the team with play now guys such as Preston.
  16. Question that needs to be brought up.. Where was UNT? Did TCU say he could not go to another school in DFW/Tx? The rich get richer.
  17. The time line is a major question. WB gave TB a year to work it and thank god TB did what he did in terms of recruiting and keeping Lawson and Woodridge here, and the lack of success. Image if TB had gotten this team into the CUSA tournament and beat 1 or 2 teams he should have.. Does UNT give TB a new deal? Likely no but we have to wonder. WB made the GMac hire just days after the season (Beleive it was like 5 days) after the SBelt tournament. The Conley thing isn’t on WB it’s on SL. I’m understand keeping him around that first year, but when we are not seeing results in year 2 and going into year 3, the guys has been around to long. The new HS coordinator depending on his connections, may have 0 real impact this spring semester when we need to be picking it up to close out this class. Softball who knows why that thing is still going on. Could it be WB put out feelers on some coaches as replacements and they passed? Could it be he saw a weak class of coaches, with it be potentially stronger this year, I sure hope to god that’s why and not because of the $ in the budget and current coach is the cheapest option.
  18. UH gets a boost because they are a TX school, but look at the downturn in the program after Herman.. if they decline again this up coming year it will be a flash in the pan for the program and be a less than sexy match up in terms of a “big name” program. We view UH as bigger than they are because of the recent history as well. I’m sorry but I would rather see us play someome like Kansas, Iowa State, Vandy, than UH because they are lower level P5 that are likely as good as UH in most cases.
  19. UNT has a website believe it’s something like Meangreengameday.com or something similar and it has a list of locations to park, etc. it’s under marketed and something that needs to be sent out weekly and Broadcasted as well via email, radio, and I’m the stadium. More signage that says cash here or there at critical points will help as well. I do agree parking is a major issue, and something that can be another negative that can deter fans from coming when added with performance, temperature, matchup.. No idea how others feel, but the Red/Blue Lot that a majority of people on here Tailgate in (I believe) is usually around 50% full. Most of the cars park close to the dorm or they park close to the hill, but out towards the soccer/field are pretty open. I feel as this is a missed opportunity for UNT to sale daily or single game parking passes.
  20. Wren hasn’t made hires.. he has made 1 hire and it was GMac, all the other coaches are from RV.. The program is yes recruiting and WB/NS need to be hands on and find these problems with SL directly and solve them. The IPF visists were nice, the IPF vote was nice, but WB/NS need to be helping SL improve in other areas.. From the locker room upgrades (yes pointless but it helps in recruiting) to things like the expanded weight room and that.
  21. Rectified? Yes they have fixed it going into year 3 of SL.. SL replaced Perry before they did Conley.. Conley and anyone from the previous staff should have been given a 1-year to prove it. He didnt with the first class or the 2nd, and this 3rd class was impacted. Conley was a minor leak that kept dripping just minor enough that it was a priority lower on the list than it should have been. JD called out Conley and the recruiting coord and that says a lot.
  22. Memphis and UH are not programs that will be bring fans that are on the fence out of the woodwork. They are solid programs that the informed college Likely knows but not many average joes know.. we can say oh UH was the biggest crowd at Apogee, but it was the first game ever..
  23. I think the biggest issues is having 20+ OL on scholarship.. it eats into the depth issues on the DL/LB and other spots
  24. King signed with USM, and Carroll has told the Waco newspaper he is signing in February, with the Aubrey OL being a RS
