  1. could be but not sure UNT would match it. If someone hires him I think they re-invest that buyout $ into the program but who knows. I'm sure we will see an increase in spending or opening up of funds. I know the Ath. Dept. was having to pay off Apogee instead of the school so that was coming out of the budget. But we know about them wanting to build an indoor practice facility along with developing their athletic food nut. as well.
  2. Yes higher up in the stands. Some very drunk students(1 guy and 2 girls) were walking and one of the girls walked into a guy with the green/white pom poms and she proceeded to say the guy did it on purpose and even dropped the F bomb and flicked off the dude as she left.. but I think the guy knew she was wasted and no big deal, and the guy with her ended up given the guy with the pom-pom a beer as well. Wasn't great since i had 10 other family members with me
  3. How cool would it have been to see them throw the game ball from the back of the chopper down onto the field LOL But would have been great and wished they would have had the Army Cadets jump in like they do at West Point
  4. Would be huge to add 1 or 2 key WR recruits to pair with Rico/Wilson/Smiley.
  5. I don't think any of us would be mad if he did leave. SL honestly has changed a ton just within this past year. His first press conference he seemed nervous, and now he is out joking around with them. If SL does get bought out, then it makes the job even more attractive to other coaches. Anyone here would make the jump within their career. I'm just hoping everyone realizes we played out of our mind this year, and that we still need to keep our predictions in line with where they should be. while 5 wins was great, Yes we got to a bowl game, but I think we need to focus on conference play.
  6. I believe the basic info is each player gets a Point for being academically elig. along with the previous years graduated students with the schools losing points(I believe) for players becoming inelg like Ivery and losing players like Goree.. Don't quote me on that but its something along those lines I believe
  7. Tyler Wilson and Rico def. took advantage and gained a lot from the extra bowl practices. The question is, who else did? Hopefully some of the younger OL
  8. I really think SL is at home here at UNT, and would hopefully be our Gary Patterson. I think SL dream jobs are OU and OSU, with him wanting OU. I also, think its helps that WB and SL seem to have something between them as well.
  9. It should be safe to say, whenever UNT is bowl Eligible HOD will want UNT. The false-start and holding on TT really killed us, and forced them to play it safe to force OT. If we wouldn't have had the holding, I'm sure we would have taken a shot for the endzone. Also, JW didn't get much help on that shuffle play on 2nd and 23.. JW was trying to push the pile but no OL came in to give him a jolt. and in OT, the 2nd down run didn't help or did the throw that hit TT in the chest.
  10. Each player accounts for a % of the APR. @UNT 90 Grad I believe knows probably the most about APR compared to anyone on the site.
  11. How can we fan help out in Recruiting? I know its most likely here already in the Forum, but could we get a quick refresher for everyone as what is allowed and not allowed in terms of fan/alumni/student/donor/ etc interaction with possibly recruits? I feel like with the huge fan base, and even if its mostly just limited to us on here that keep up with recruiting. What can we do to help out the coaches and program? We already know about emailing the staff about possible recruits, along with tweeting the coaches about the player or players to the coach. But can we tweet kids about Denton, about UNT, even tweet/tag them in posts reminding them about the campus? But one thing that I think we need to start to do is when we someone is offered, is even send the recruit pictures of the campus, info about the school, playing time, etc. (If this is allowed) I'm not sure it helped with us in landing Ham-bone but he put up a twitter poll asking people for input and alot of people voted and posted comments as to why UNT or other schools as well. If we are able to keep UNT on the mind of some of these kids that would be a great help to the staff. Also, I think all of these kids want to be part of something special and us embracing them should help.
  12. would have been great just to get Fine in for some read-option plays to help give Wilson a bit more space. But Morris looked great today, and wish he would have been given more of a chance this year.
  13. I totally agree that even with the dumpster fire for the lack of depth on the roster here, Mac and RV are the only reason we are in a bowl game compared to SMU. Thank you to RV and Mac for the grades and one hell of a senior class. I feel really bad for Buyers, Scott, etc for them not being to get the W, but I think these guys are just glad they were able to play 1 more game.
  14. Amen to that but nothing to worry about either. Would love to see crap hit the fan for the guy tho Its crazy that Morris got a bad rep here and still lead us in TDs. Would have been great to see him given all the reps this year, not sure how different it would have been but just today alone he showed why he was one of the most talented QBs we have had in a very long time. My question would have been, if we had won the bowl game.. what would people think/remember of Morris.. the guy who everyone called the choker or the guy who won the bowl game, which honestly he damn near won it for us with our Defense bending and breaking every chance
  15. but who has the better recruiting class... and not like UNT has been much better in sports outside of our bowl games..
  16. High school/college kids love SM along with it being close to Austin
  17. He had to get an Iv on the sideline that first drive of the 3rd Quarter.
  18. Agreed every since that Army game at WP defense has lacked and hasn't been able to make adjustments. GH def excelled with Morris today. Penalties killed us a ton this year and cost us multiple games. Great year but very costly still We still need a backup to him. Hope Wyche, Nic Smith are next in line Yes very costly and stupid at times. TT had a costly hold on the last drive and a stupid Personal Foul that JW made up for on that screen TD Can't blame GH they moved the ball, yes they had a few 3 and outs but all teams do.. you just can't give up scores nonstop and let them eat 10 minutes of the 4th.
  19. That better get this team in gear.. 1 last half for these Seniors. Dominate and build going into the offseason
  20. 2 weeks of practice did a lot for Rico 2 weeks of practice did a lot for Rico
  21. He also blew chunks all over the field on that last drive
  22. I think it would be wise to get as many as possible OL as we can after the problems this year.
  23. Yes and honestly a great time to do it as well, with the # of guys we are losing along the DL and paying for college shouldn't be a problem.. worth a shot at UNT over smaller D2 schools. Come in and work his butt off like he does in his tape and the staff will follow through. If he can't make it I'm sure other smallest schools would still be interested
  24. But this staff can't recruit at all everyone said?!?!!
  25. He is followed by Perry and Brooks from the staff. Also, going to assume that was his mom that posted this and with the M.ed means that he should be focused on the books side as well.
