  1. Fake Ek needs to be all over this lol
  2. Kid played at I believe 230 and is already up to 260 and doesn't look like it at all.. This kid if he develops could be huge for us at OT... This kid could easily get up 280, 290 and it would barely show.. Can't wait to see him in the gym.. just going to say pair him up with Ham-bone
  3. Awesome that he was able to talk a bit about the team, and that he wasn't upset about being noticed either.
  4. The coaches don't owe us any reason as to why they do or don't recruit anyone nor could they comment on the kid either way... That's like getting mad that we didn't offer to the #1 HS QB that is going to Clemson.. The coaches have their reasons and those will never be made public.. and they haven't offered..
  5. The things with OL is that its very difficult to get higher ranked kids... 5 spots, on every team in he entire nation, plus quality backup as well... That is why this staff needs to be able to bring in kids and develop them. Yes we all would love to be bringing in 3* and I'm not saying we can't.. but OL is a very difficult position because of the # of spots and programs always looking for kids. This staff should be looking for kids that are 2* that could develop into 4*. The ability to recruit quality talent is important, but at this level you have to develop kids.. Look at what TCU and BSU have done.. they got kids and put them into spots to success..
  6. I've said this in the post earlier... With his track-record as an NFL coach, and coaching with the SEC and Big12, he is someone recruits would like just based on his past stops.. Also, SL has said this over and over... He doesn't care nor is he worried about the ratings of the kid. Him and his staff want to be able to coach a kid from where they are now into something.. Also with the influx of kids this year at OL, even if this guy was a "terrible" recruiter he wouldn't have to be bringing in kids that get to pick between OSU and Texas AM(which has had multiple 1st round picks, and who wouldn't pick Austin over Stillwater?) But him being a top 10 recruiter 2 years ago in the Big 12 is more than enough for me and should be more than enough for everyone on here..
  7. Even if UNT signs him and he leaves in a year for another job, that is a positive sign for UNT in the coaching circles. I doubt/ don't believe that the position coaches like davis and them have minor buyouts either but if they do that could be used as well..
  8. he had another year on his contract according to the article as well
  9. SL doesn't care about the "ratings" along with him losing recruits to Texas and Texas AM... Also this was from the article... Adkins' impact won't soon be lost among remaining members of the offensive line. His 2016 signing class included junior college transfer right guard Larry Williams, a five-game starter before season-ending surgery, and a trio of promising high school talents — Teven Jenkins (Topeka, Kan.), Matt Kegel (Chaska, Minn.) and Dylan Galloway (Coppell, Texas). Article goes on to say that he was making 355k... which is quiet a bit of difference with Davis pay, but it should be off-set somewhat as well by OSU wherever he goes..
  10. no idea, can't find an exact salary for him.. but looks like it something along the lines of a CO-OL coach position... Along with OK-State dismissing him, I would assume its along the lines of what happened with Mainford and Kentucky that he gets a pay out or something(I would think)
  11. English and Davis.. are 2 kids that I hope become pillars for this defense the next few years and after. along with great ambassadors for the program in the future as well.
  12. OK-State just dismissed an OL coach.. that has experience in the NFL as a tight ends coach, and history within the SEC/Big 12 and Marshall.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Adkins http://okstate.com/news/2015/2/26/Gundy_Announces_Five_New_Staff_Additions.aspx Here is his 24/7 profile.. was one of the top recruiters within the Big12(was #10 recruiter behind Traylor) in 2016. http://247sports.com/Coach/Greg-Adkins-600
  13. just going to say.. and I know this is not likely at all.. but Les Miles is out there Also, this is off-topic but any idea what the C-USA pay out was for the bowl games? wondering if this would help/ increase the coaching budget
  14. while yes we need to improve recruiting.. OL is not a spot that we need the best recruiter and bad coach.. if our OL is good/great it makes the other spots even better(just look at the cowboys).. Give me the best OL coach that is avg at recruiting. then other position groups we can bring in the great recruiters This is a very young group with 5 True Freshman... Also, Davis seemed to have nice recruiting edge in Houston as well..
  15. agreed OL Coach could have a huge impact, and needs to be someone with ties to Texas.
  16. OL is a spot we need a good coach, not a great recruiter..
  17. worst thing ever... and super ugly...
  18. People have contacted the staff.. and they have gotten tweets... The staff is aware of this kid.
  19. https://twitter.com/HBU_Football
  20. The question is.. would he even consider a UNT offer by now? or has he made up his mind on the SEC/Big12?
  21. The question that I have is... if we don't better/higher ranked kids or is it based on how the kids mature this season?.. when does SL move on from some of these guys? Would he move on from coaches at the end of next season? or does he wait? The guys that we had hoped to fill Perry's slot in Booker and Traylor are still out there.. When they announce the IPF, do they also talk about more of an investment into staffs with the basket ball? Football? as well? One of my Sports Management Profs.(who works within the SuperPit) has heard a few minor rumors about them doing away with the superpit in the coming years..
  22. If UNT and UTSA can pull there weight in terms of recruiting TX, and FAU and FIA as well in FL, that will be a major positive for C-USA. As well as LAT, WKU, and others continuing what they are doing as well.
  23. I'll say if the kid has twitter have him tweet at members of the staff, and even have his coach call up to UNT... With us adding a 2nd RB to the class, not sure if he would be an RB, This team I'm sure would love to take someone like him as a PWO. Would be a great addition on defense and as a returner and possible RB.
  24. Anyone else think of ol' #3 watching this kid?
  25. I do agree about how it was impressive to add 2 3* guys without them visiting or anything when they thought/knew Bradley was gone. I do agree somewhat about the points in terms of recruiting as well.. Yes, the schools at the top of the C-USA ranks brought in a # of 3 star players compared to the 5 that we did(so far), and I do believe there is not a major difference between a 2 star and a 3 star... Heck, Guyton was a 4 star and McNeal a 4 star as well when they left HS and now they were considered mid-tier 3 stars.. This staff had to go after guys who could come in and stick around... I would think of the 20 something kids we got(Through LOI and BS) that they are likely to end up on campus.. A few worries about players like Sigger and the kid from Houston(people brought up grades as for why they slipped/lost offers)
