  1. Professor told us in my facilities class.
  2. We gotta remember we will have a lot of youth at WR with us losing Buyers, TT, Goree, and Robinson.. Guyton helps with Smiley but after that we have a bunch of younger guys that are Soph, RS Freshman or Freshman. Gotta weigh risk of having a lot of youth out there. Also, another guy with size like Jefferson is good as well. But either he comes in as a PWO(which I think is unlikely) or we count him vs 2017 if we can. We have Hood counting vs the 2017 class and he was a 1 and done Best interest would be finding ways to have guys not hurt vs next years class. As great as Hood was, he counted vs the 2017 class. If we bring in Jefferson it should be vs the 2017 class so he is off the books and that slot is open for the 2018 class with us having 5 Blue-shirts already against the 2018 class. Also, WR is a place that we needed more depth there last year and with losing 4 of our Top WRs, bringing in Jefferson would help with the development of the younger guys. ASU has developed WRs and recruited them as well. Jefferson class had a guy go in the 2nd or 3rd round to Houston, and they landed a STUD freshman WR last year. If we bring in Jefferson, we have to let him play and not pull him like we did Morris. Morris played well in that HoD bowl, along with the Southern Miss game as well. I think someone said he(Jefferson) ran a 4.5 out of Guyer. But I would think Guyton and Smiley should be viewed as 1 and 2, with Rico and Wilson as 3 and 4 in terms of who are the best WRs.. but to me, I'd love to add see them get all 4 of theses guy out there at the same time if possible. We saw last year injuries and suspense's hurt the depth. The real question is do they believe in the guys like Boyd, Lawerence, on top of incomers like White, the kid from Houston, etc.
  3. Yep, that what was discussed.. It sounds like they want it to seem "Fuller" than but to also help cutdown on heating, cooling, etc as well.. I haven't been to other schools like UTA, SMU, or TCU but would this be similar to their # of seats?
  4. The topic of the new arena was brought up again today, I'm sure that this could change but stadium apparently is being rumored to only have between 4-5000 seats, while the SuperPit holds 10k.
  5. LOL, I wish I could drop that kind of money... But as a current student just trying to get an internship and working for free for the AD Office it has been near impossible.
  6. would be nice to recruit in LA and south texas as well...
  7. http://247sports.com/player/ellis-jefferson-193 Looks like he just completed his Jr year.. Had a number of P5 offers, also if it matters his recruiting class had a 1st round pick in Randall, and a 2nd or 3rd round pick in Strong but 24/7 has/had him at 6'4 200+ and rated as a .8488
  8. I would totally agree, and with the # of DLine guys that we lost this year, it would be best to find someone who is familiar with what Reff expects/ wants.. I'm also assuming Todd was with Reff when they beat Arkansas(?)
  9. Yea does shuffle, I looked at another day because it was McClain vs Wilson and it was 24-2 or something like that with McClain winning...
  10. The question should be, does Reff has a say(which I would assume) and if he does, now much.. or is this someone SL is bringing in?
  11. While I do agree about signing better/ higher regarded players, we have to remember most kids are usually 3* kids... and P5 programs stack pile up depth along the OL. Bama has had years they turn out 2 or 3 1st round picks, and the next year they are replacing them with kids as talented... what we have to be doing is finding kids that we can develop into all conference players... A good example is WKU, they picked up a kid in 2013 named Lamp.. he just graduated and is going be picked in the draft, he was an All C-USA LT. When he signed out of HS he was a 2* that graded out as a .7000 players.. Kids that are 270-280+ that are mobile are most likely going to end up at P5 schools.. Look at Parish, the kid that we landed. The kid played at 230 but has great feet and long arms, heck when he is playing he running around arms and legs just swinging around because the kid hasn't grown into his body yet... UNT till it becomes a bigger fish, has to find kids with traits that can be developed. Parish has around said he has put on 30-40 lbs, and in his NSD pics we can't even tell. Finding kids with great feet should be the priority, with it being on the strength coaches to get his weight up. Not to pile on, but on the podcast ashton talked about the OG from Trinity Moses, that if he had been 6'2 or 6'3 he would have been at a p5, but with him being 6'0/6'1 he is at UNT. (Sorry for the rant, but OL is stacked for a year or so now somewhat we need someone to develop them, and once we do we will be able to recruit more) http://247sports.com/player/forrest-lamp-13086 http://247sports.com/player/brian-parish-91848
  12. Sutton I want to say filed and requested them to review him and give him a draft grade.. I wanna say it was board line RD 1 or 2(could be wrong, but believe it could have been RD 2 or 3). Once he saw that he decided to come back and play another year. But Vito did post about Sutton returning, No idea about when Vito did to go back and reference it.
  13. Honest question, because I'm most likely one of the younger guys on here and have no idea... But do we have any big-time alumni/notable alumni that could just drop a ton of money? I know like OKState got one of their alumni to give them a blank check to build up there program
  14. I think people are worried because he isn't from a bigger school.. Like Hays from Tech, or Adkins from OKState... But we need to remember the OL is a place that we need someone who can coach and develop the OL on the team... We brought in 6 OL recruits... and our OL Coach better be able to coach up and develop the 5 Freshman, along with continue the development of the ones that remain. Also, not sure about this but maybe the likes of Hays or some bigger name coaches would have been another 1 and done, or possibly with this guy have the negative mark by his name makes him come in at a slightly cheaper price... But if this guy can come in develop even 1 or 2 of these guys into All C-USA players that would be a great help for this offense. We have to remember the former Cinny, now LB Coach is viewed as a good/great recruiter. OL is a spot that you need someone who makes this $ coaching, not recruiting... If SL supports this guy, and he was a front runner with Davis, I'm good with it... But the questions that we should be asking is... Do the Coordinators have a say(if so how much, if any) in who we bring in for these spots?
  15. Look directly behind the OLB that is rushing with the DE vs UNT Left Edge Blocker, looks like an H-Back with Murray blocking down, you can see a 3rd player SMU player covering TT
  16. We better hope that Guyton is our #1... Also, McClain is up vs Tyler Wilson
  17. I chalk it up to 1st game nerves that game, also if you look at the LT he is blocking the DE and OLB, with a 3rd player behind as well. so that could have been a reason as well.
  18. Something else that hurts us, is that kids in the DFW area often want to go get out of DFW.. All of us when we were younger wanted to go off and be on our own.. I do think all of those states are places we should be looking and we have looked OK with Fine, Rico, LA with Evan this year, but we need to expand on it and try and find more kids from the Austin/ Houston areas as well.
  19. Wonder did he have any impact on selling Novil about UNT over ACU? Also, glad we are now adding GA's that from outside of the UNT program, and someone that has a profile out in the Abilene- San Angelo area as well.
  20. I thought he went to Baylor?
  21. I'm not sure of the dates, but what I have been told is that the Superpit was grandfathered in and didn't have to follow the ADA till the State of Texas required all places follow such rules. In my facilities class, it has been brought up that UNT is keeping the SP at the bare min to pass because of the cost to upgrade. We have been told that UNT view if they spends X in upgrades, is it really worth it if in the near future we build a new stadium.
  22. This is one of the biggest problems with the SuperPit, it wasn't ADA complaint. I know that they have only 1 handicap enterance to the stadium, and only a few seats/areas for them to sit as well. Issues like this are a just one of many, as to why they are looking forward towards a new SuperPit.
  23. What I mean is, with this list/data that we collect.. what is going to be done with it??? we send it to the coaches?? we going to tweet it at players? Agreed, if you want to go to the pro's most of the time its based on playing time, and what you have on tape.. Yes the conference or teams that you play against can matter, but the players don't get to pick who is on the sch... but you playing at any level and showing what you can do will get you noticed.
  24. Now if they lied... wonder if that could open it up for the players to leave(without having to seat out a year) like they did with PSU, if NCAA gets involved. If so, wonder if with a successful season and if the offense explodes like it has at SLs other stops if UNT becomes an attractive place for some of them..
  25. From how I have taken the discussions inside of my Facilities Management class, the Student Fees will stay the same no matter what(currently they generate about 8M is what was said in class), even when whatever coming off the books soon is paid off. Not to put you on the spot either but are we sure that UTA's stadium cost 78? or is this one amazing stadium for UTA? I only ask because the Student Union came out to be around $100Million for UNT(from what we were told). The biggest problem/struggle with the SP is that since its so old, when new State/Local laws change they have to do major upgrades.. I've been told that they had to redo some of the sitting and that when new requirements were made for ADA(Disabilities), that this what really affects the SP. Also, just what we have come to expect as well with the times changing, such as TVs in the concession lines, etc.. While we want these upgrades the school is fighting the debate do they spend that X amount to put it in at the Superpit when it could be saved/sent else till the new stadium. I do agree, and it seems that UNT is putting off the new Superpit for the next 2-3 years to build up the other sports since the Superpit is at a minimum standard would be best. With that being said, the first priority should be the IPF, which I would think with it taken this long for them to announce it, they must be doing something a lot bigger because I thought when they decided they would build the IPF they said they wanted it done during this upcoming summer(thought Vito had said this?) The IDF will aid in soccer, track, Football recruitment and also get those players out of the heat during the summer at times as well. I'm sure WB would love to find more new donors, but knowing they will have endless amounts of students coming in, and the UNT President focusing on Athletics more I think we should be expecting a rise in budgets. Not because WB has a seat at the table now, but because of them wanting to make UNT a big time name now, but the President having his pick for AD as well now compared to RV.
