  1. You think someone was? I'm hoping its just WB being pro-active with the knowledge that with the # of coaches lost, it means people were looking at us.. Giving SL another year, for a boost in terms of the buyout other school would pay seems like a win-win.
  2. How should we view these coaches in terms of recruiting? To me it looks like the LB and the DL coach are solid recruiters, with the OL being solid coach(with us wondering about this recruiting).. Is this a correct view?
  3. Yes Filani is. I'd like to bring him in, but not at the cost of losing a late qualifying HS kid that will be here for 4-years. I'd rather roll with the WRs if we can get someone else who will be here for multiple years like that kid Carson or a late-signee like we did with Jenkins that signed with Cinny, but they mutually backed out from it.
  4. We need to stop talking about 20-30 years ago when the SP was being filled... The team has not been anything great, outside of a few seasons Both the SP and the team on the court needs to be upgraded. As of now, they are developing an idea for the new SP with is ideally sitting 4-5k with it most likely able to expand as well. Along with the AD most likely already looking for a new coach.
  5. Hopefully it is a bit of raise for SL or another year added on(with a higher buyout if he laves), along with a boost in salaries, and budgets as well.
  6. Aren't the current football offices right next/over looking Apogee? I'd like to see them add/ include a gym to the IDF that is state of the art! or do this next to apogee
  7. Sweet thank you! Will go in and fix my post

  10. I think Griffin could be a nice addition as a WR, but I hope they use him as a gadget guy as well, like a wild-cat QB at times and that. 2 guys to watch should be Lawerence and Duhon, both played in the spread and were talented guys that were PWOs. Smiley did come on, and I think we are better in terms of depth but we have more ?s at the top of the chart in terms of production. We lost TT,Goree, Buyers, Robinson all solid guys(in terms of production/what they brought to the field).. Guyton hasn't played D1 yet, Rico and Wilson had flashes(and looked great in the HoD), Smiley did come on the last 2/3 games of the year but didn't do much the other games of the year.. Not saying we expected a lot from the guys lost, but the guys stepping in should be better because of flashes/skills we just haven't seen it yet, after the spring-ball ill be more confident. I do think the kid White from GA in this class could be a great pick up as well. I think someone had said it was either a shoulder or something like a hip/hamstring/knee thing.. I know that doesn't help much
  11. Weren't they already supposed to release information about the IPF already(?) I thought they had wanted to start it early this year with it done in the summer/fall?? I know it had been brought up(or discussed) for a Vote back in Sept/ Oct or atleast was nearing the point for the school to vote on it, but nothing since but I may have missed it
  12. This is what I would think the new SP is most likely to be... Something like 5k with it being able to be expanded.. No idea if that means the leave room for us to add seating after a few years or if they plan on having suites or what.. but this seems like the best idea. UNT would match rather turn away people in a 5k stadium, then have a 7 or 8k stadium that is only 1/2 full. Prices go up, and pushes people to buy season tickets. Also, it looks better on TV in terms of a full-house. I haven't been to the Allen center, but I would think just looking at the picture of the inside that it would be more than enough. I'm sure that the Allen Center at near $60(wiki says est. is 58M, so you are correct) has some addition things that we won't need I would assume. So I would think the price would slightly come down. It looks like the Allen Center, has about 30 suites, do we think we would need that many(I'd say no?) but I do like and would think that UNT would like to have a larger club area like they do at Apogee, or would we be okay with Apogee holding most events? I would just guess/estimate the most likely target in terms of money spent on the new SuperPit would be somewhere in the $30-50M, with it most likely being around 40-50(I'm guessing but have no idea). Another question would be, where would they build it/ where would you want it?? I would think the SP goes away almost entirely once the new SP is built. With the events like the Cheerleading/Volleyball/Basketball tourney's that it hosts either moving to the new SP, or some of them being moved to the PEB or Bonshan Gym. They have talked about tearing down Fouts and making it parking lot till they can build something(believe it was brought up earlier what would/could eventually replace it) in its spot. I would think with the location of the SP its a prime location for something new to be built as well. Near by are multiple dorms, along with the Gateway center.
  13. What would be his buyout though???
  14. I think its more about bringing fans to the game... they know UTSA will most likely bring more fans than UTEP, and UTEP(should be) having a down year next year with them losing the stud RB that they had and an 1st or 2nd team all c-usa OL. Also, if the season is going well, it will build momentum with fans going into the end of the season and hopefully a bowl bid.
  15. I don't get how some of these #s don't add up.. some guys do 17 or 18 then others do 20 21? I'm assuming it changes based on position? Also, either McClain is just dominating people, or we should be worried about what he is doing to our WRs today he beat up Smiley 13-5 and Jordan Murray lost big again...
  16. The cost of keeping the SuperPit is costly(even at the lowest of standards needed), and to make upgrades that will be needed in the future even more costly. Another thing to factor in is the amount of wasted energy(because its not very energy efficient) that they put into the Superpit, in terms of heating/cooling, etc as well on top of amount of time it's used for classes, offices, and teacher offices on top of practice and other uses as well. I'm also sure that they will not build a stadium that is sub-par, nor below average.
  17. Believe today Carson won 14-5 vs. Pearson
  18. People at other schools have talked about how he is a solid recruiter... I'm not sure if he is an "recruiting-guru" like we have been hoping for, but again he should be one of our better recruiters(I think).
  19. possible bowl-clincher????
  20. I agree again, but could it be that C-USA is not likely to hold the championship here because of the travel for other schools?
  21. While I don't deny that it is a waste, I would assume that it would 4-5 with the ability to go higher. I was in shock as well at the low #, but I'm passing along what I've heard and been told by someone who has knowledge of what is being proposed.
  22. I'd think the only thing that holds it up is about the scholarship... Maybe the staff is waiting to grab a HS guy that is a late qualifier in may?
  23. This professor has been right about everything else, and also runs the volleyball, and cheerleading that do competitions at the superpit among other things. But I may have missed it but Smatresk just said we would have a new SP in the future, he hasn't said the size yet either..
  24. All these people donate to difference schools within UNT, hopefully WB and the staff have or are trying to reach out to people to aid the AD. Dang had no idea about interstate battery, looks like I know what batteries ill be buying from now on..
  25. I don't believe so Just going to say I'm even more impressed that he was down at UT as well during that time as well... I'm not sure we knew that about him when we first found out about him. Doubtful that he still has those connections, but atleast he has some experience recruiting in Texas as well.
