Seth Littrell receives extension through 2021
BTG_Fan1 replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Football
I'm guessing @Harry was right that someone came talking to SL. just a sign of support for him. some college coaches have contracts out another 7 or 8 years. Also, likely to increase the payment to UNT from whatever school if SL leaves. -

I have no idea where, lol but those seem like logical spots. Just didn't know if they had anyone in the offices by/ overlooking Apogee. -

I would think probably a rise(which is probably bonuses that RV put in like the bowl game bonus, becoming guaranteed) and hopefully a bit larger buyout(for leaving) with him getting an extra year and a bigger buyout if fired, is my guess. -
MGB breaking news -- regents approve new venue

I do like turning the venue into a multi-sport/ multiple use facility as well. Another question, where does soccer and track teams have their offices? Would be great if WB and NS did a presentation of what everything would/will hopefully look like and where it all will be, along with an idea for when stuff would be built. -

Yes it is, would love to get a pipe line from LA and OK as getting kids here in TX. A -
Thanks for that! I have no idea how often that they check it was my only worry.

This is true...
-
You pony up for a IPF because its not leaving in 4 years like a play, nor will it leave when another bigger school comes a calling like a coach. Yes a bigger recruiting budget is nice, but kids have passed on UNT because they want the new shiny toys... invest in the program, and as it was said earlier.. Its happening, You pony up because it helps the other sports as well, and allow for more events to be help at UNT... 7on7 tournments are held at LD Bell indoor, heck the rangers have done things at the LD Bell in door baseball facility as well.

I"m figuring that they are finishing up the final details of a contract, but why such the long wait to announce if they have already... They had talked about announcing all 3 at the same time, and never understood why to do that.
-
We can still practice outside as well... And I would think that they would do this more often than not, I'm sure that UTSA practices inside of the dome, and just doesn't only use it for game days...

BTG_Fan1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football

I'm guessing we should tweet this link and profile to GH, SL, and whoever else maybe @TheReal_jayD could pass it along to his contacts as well? Heck offer him a PWO spot.. we need QBs
-
I haven't seen an announcement for the OL or DL coach.

MGB: UNT defensive line outlook for 2017
BTG_Fan1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Not sure if anyone would consider this, but there is talk that Ole Miss could be getting a 2 year-post season ban. If they do get a 2-year ban, it opens it up for all players to transfer without penalty. Not sure if we have had any connections with players currently on that roster, but if the staff thinks they need someone, looking at Ole Miss maybe a good place to look. http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/18748815/hugh-freeze-ole-miss-rebels-defiance-lead-their-ncaa-downfall -
What I'm saying is that its one of the things that UTSA has over UNT. Football is a very physically- demanding sport as we know. We also know that the heat in Texas when its 95+ without a cloud in the sky puts stress on your body, on top of that wearing pads as well. Combining these together puts a toll on the body, and yes these guys are young and we have all been through it. But if we can reduce this toll leading to them feeling better in terms of being able to study film better instead of being half asleep, or not having lagging injuries from camps or pulled muscles. Practicing inside you can monitor and lower the temp to even 70 or 80, while reducing the strain that 95+ with pads. Reducing the stress on players allows these guys to perform better, thus decreasing the likely hood of injury whether is heat related or just muscle recovery time. On top of it, once again this IPF will be used for multiple different sports. The benefits that this IPF offers will be felt in multiple sports.

Round 2 of Facilities Improvement Started
BTG_Fan1 replied to BTG_Fan1's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't get it either... The recruits that go to other schools talk about the locker rooms.. Heck maybe the only way it gets done is we donate with the only use for the money to be put into the locker room. -------------------------------- With us talking about improvements.. Look at what Brad Davis tweeted out about UF.. -
What if he goes wins out, the conference, and wins the NCAA Title? Do we thank RV for the hire, and WB for sticking with him? LOL
-
I can only image what this addition to Ham-Bone and English could/would do to C-USA OLines... NFL Teams yes like a sexy program name, but they go off of production.. Just to name 1 recent DT that came from C-USA is Vern Butler from LATech, went in the 1st round to Carolina Panthers in the 2016 Draft. Also, it was brought up about Denton being far enough away from home you won't be bothered by family nonstop, but close enough family can come see you every single homegame @Cooley hope these can added to the selling pointsfor UNT
-
Yes, at the very least as very least it will put us in some good company. Also, Starkel went to AM, not OU Just going to throw this out there.. I had brought up pairing him with English, but forgot to mention pairing him with Ham-Bone as well. Hope Ham-bone and English work with @Cooley on bringing him here.

With his returner skill, maybe he is a slot WR? -

Wondering is this the new LB Coach with his history in LA? -
Let you know if he has any questions... Also, we may try and get English paired up with him... That could be a very scary pairing in C-USA together.
-
LOL what if he makes the conference Tourney... Do we give him an extension? Just joking!
