MGB: UNT spring practice report 2 with Wheeler video
BTG_Fan1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Anthony has a brother that is a 3 or 4 star recruit that should be a senior in 2018.. I gotta find his 24/7 but I believe we had offered, but so had UH and OU(I think) -
As in what else? Like dates for the IPF?
-
I'm hoping that they re-use the Fouts turf in the IPF, to save some of the $... Also, isn't the Jumbotron still up at Fouts?

Wish they would do something like that. The Hospitality majors work in a restaurant that is really nice between the Gateway building and the Superpit... I'm not sure how often it is open, but my sister worked in it before she graduated. -

The OL is very worrisome, and I do wonder about the QB situation as well. The OL lost 2 experienced guys, with us having a 5 true freshman coming. Everyone has talked highly about the Newman kid as a Center, and Moses as a G, but we are in need of OTs. Murray seems to slow at times to be an OT in the offense, and we already have a solid # of Gs on the roster. If this OL can gel, that would be a major improvement for this offense leading to the QB having more time. I do think we brought in a some good OTs in this class, but I’m not sure if they are ready to start or play a major role starting Day 1(talking about Parish and Brammer.) Also, we saw when this team was able to give the QB time(at times) this past season we were able to pass the ball. The QB situation is fluid because Fine didn’t lock it up, and with us bringing in 2 guys in Pearson and Izzy with no D1 experience. I do think it is good to have Lamar first, and I think Izzy has the ability to be a good QB in this system (he just has to show it). We still have questions about Fine as a passer, with things like is he willing to throw it away instead of taken a sack and if he can stay healthy the entire season. I'm hoping Izzy wins the job, with Fine pushing him and getting some reps in games as well with Pearson RS. I'd love to see them use Fine at times as a runner, but also let him pass a few times to keep defenses off-balanced(yes I know he isn't the biggest but playing a side-kick role he would take less of a beating) -
Finalize third party multimedia rights deal that will provide new, guaranteed revenue to North Texas Athletics for years to come. This makes me wonder if they have something in place already or they still looking.. Would be great to find some more revenue to help in developing the ADept

He will be a UFA... and no idea with the Depth at RB, but would be nice to see him back.. With them having Zeke, Morris, 1 and 2 are set.. with them talking about bringing back Dmac since he is a UFA

18 DT/DL Dayton LeBlanc (Denton Ryan) (Verbal 2-26-17)

While that is likely true about him most likely not being rated higher, and moving around as well.. But I haven't looked, but I wouldn't think UK has been pulling in many 4*, or super high 3*s is the only worry. -

Have to remember that this team is losing a lot of upper-class players in Scott, Gray, Davis, Buyers, TT, among others, and I think we will see a lot more of SL guys rotated in and out... Not saying we can’t get to 7 wins, but this will be a younger/less inexperience group of guys at some spots. That’s my worry, but I do think 5-6 is doable.. hopefully we can top that A lot of the offense will have to do with the QB, and defense with how they respond and new guys out there besides Scott, Combs, Gray.. We could be playing a True Freshman in Pearson, a new RS JR QB, or Fine who was at times solid for a Freshman but wasn’t great either at times either. -

I like the Northern AZ, but no idea if we would even consider that nor does it sound like they would consider it. I do like that they are wanting to make it into a multi-use stadium, makes it so UNT can get more uses out of it and hopefully generate some additional revenue as well. Someone had talked about the OK vs TX relays, that would be great and another recruiting tool UNT could offer as a way to show off UNT track/ soccer facilities. -
I like this kids tape. Goes till the end of the whistle, and finishes his blocks. Also has good feet as well. I have no idea where he was but he is a true freshman, so maybe he is a PWO or some type of grey-shirt without the scholarship?
-
I'd think that UNT would wanna keep the SMU game, since it is a close trip and would save potentially on traveling for away games
-
With Orr retired.. I'm guessing Robertson is the biggest name we got in he NFL now? Also, would love to somehow get UNT to team up with him if they can/could do the summer camps again, and do one down in NO.. with all of the recent offers down in NO, would be interesting with a notable figure in Robertson, Reff, and the new LB coach, Yellock, and Brooks all having a history in LA
-
Add in Griffin as well.. Will be interesting and alot more explosive than last year, but we gotta hope the young guys can adjust and step up this year. Also, glad to see Izzy was impressive throwing it around (as he should be), after his knee injury. Hoping he can get in on team offense this spring
-
Maybe UNT would buy from him for for suites for the new stadiums??? lol
-
So some questions that I have.. I'm assuming if we hire an Assistant HC to become our HC, we don't have to suffer from a buy out correct like with SL when he came from UNC? With that being said, do we think that WB would/should buyout someone at a smaller school that was a HC instead of an Assistant at a bigger school? And what is most important with a B-Ball coach? and do we keep any of the current staff around?

Something else that was interesting is Vito is saying we are close to filling that open scholarship with a WR, I was hoping for a DL or LB with our depth issues -

I'm assuming he is already on the roster? Hudl says he is a class of 2019 kid... Looks like a big kid that can find the hole on KR -
Hank talks around the 430- mark about WB and hints that more info on facilities should be soon.. not much insight but still a little bit.

http://247sports.com/player/dayton-leblanc-46039490 comes in as 3* and graded as a .7999 http://drchighschoolblog.dentonrc.com/2017/02/football-ryan-dt-dayton-leblanc-commits-to-north-texas.html/ here is a link to Dayton talking about him committing and he says that he plans to RS his freshman year... http://www.hudl.com/profile/4760293/dayton-leblanc and here is his hudl if you wanna watch it.
-
I"m now slightly worried about him moving and not being here in Denton. Worried as in, this commitment may not stick like it did with Davis..
-
I"m guessing it is Denton Ryan DT Dayton LeBanc... our former DL coach kiddo. Updated his twitter profile bio with #TakeFlight18. Hudl says he is 6'1 and 270 and runs a 5.00 40.
-
Could it be Dayton Lebanc? He retweeted it and Yellock was tagged in it... http://www.hudl.com/profile/4760293/dayton-leblanc Has updated his twitter bio to #TakeFlight18
