Not to be that guy, but the title needs to include his year as well -
Washington State was a ranked in the Top 5/10 last year, though?
-
According to 24/7 he is visiting Pitt (1/26) and Vandy (2/2)
-
Love this kids size, but he has solid feet for a big man and impressive speed with him being able to recover and get out in space for some tackles as well. Like how it seems like he finishes his hits on the QB.. Would have loved to pair Brown and Shaw, that would have been a very scary combo. Really like Browns tape and hope we can land him, with the Tulane/Virginia offers likely having expired.
-
Would like to see them take a few chances on highly rated kids that have some possible issue (grades) that if we can get them in great, if not move a kid from a blue shirt to a that slot.
-
Grades or something the issue? Got Tulane and Virginia then mostly JUCO offers after that?

Big 12 and C-USA FB media days are back to back

Sooooo does that mean we are the sloppy seconds? -
Where is this 4.5 talk coming from?
-
Huge for UNT. Hope that knee is healed up and they have put some weight on him as well. If he can come in at 210-215 that is huge, and if he can run in the 4.5s that’s a major boost in terms of getting coaches to rewatch his tape. One thing he has that most College RBs don’t have is solid/great pass blocking. Hope he can have a huge day.

The worrisome thing is.. Year 1 it seemed to be we lost 50/50 games (or games we viewed as toss ups), year 2 we won them all (and some games we shouldn't have won)... Year 3 we need to see separation and not the 50/50 because the law of averages will not do us kindly.. Just ask someone like UTSA who lost to us by 3, and USM by 1... The difference between a bowl-bid and staying home...

This offense did not go "up-tempo" as much as it should have.. They had times they had teams on their heels and we did not speed up the game to exploit this, instead it was business as usual. I'm hopeful that in Year 3 of this offense (on top of the years of Fine running 1 similar in HS) he will be allowed to make changed at the LOS and be allowed to speed up the plays similar to what FAU does/did. If the defense can even get back to what it was year 1 of SL, that is a huge boost to this team, and most of all potentially Mason. Mason should and hopefully will put up some big time numbers in his JR/SR year. If this defense can even just be a middle of the road team in the 60s) it will increase the Point margins and hopefully allow for this team to surprise someone like Arkansas and FAU while Mason shreds the likes of UTEP, Rice, I-Word, Liberty, among other programs. If he can do that, hopefully he is mentioned and included in some National QB/offensive awards and maybe even an All-American slot which would do alot of good for the football program.

With that seemed to be a solid combo of coaches recruiting him, in the "ace recruiter" Biagi, and a former NFL Assistant coach in Yellock on top of his former QB being at the school as well... #Disappointed

LB Tim Faison commits to the Mean Green

I’m assuming a May transfer since we are into week 3 of classes and he just committed, compared to someone like Preston who only had 3/4 days to commit/enroll -
DRC: Tim Faison thrilled to get second chance at DI at UNT
BTG_Fan1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Lol I figured, but with us talking about the defense struggling.. it was nearly half the season that they allowed 40+ it seemed. No defensive position should be safe coming into next year. -
What is a nutkick is a # of Manvel kids did not sign in the early period and seems like nothing has been done to change their minds.. no in house visits, no visits up to UNT with Martin, etc Also, they have a JR/soon to be SR RB who is a highly rated RB (in next years class) that has openly said he is interested in UNT and no offer has been extended by UNT either

+ Army that we got 2 stops the entire game, and UAB -
A long way? We had people here complaining how we didn’t get a Top 25 vote with our HC having a vote this past season, even our HC knew we were not a top 25 team. We have people thinking we will go 13-1 (which we need to tap the breaks on talk, before we UTSA we turn out like UTSA going undefeated). FAU got national pub 1- because of the HC, 2- because they flat out wrecked teams.. CUSA is likely going to have another down year, this is when UNT should be dishing out the beat downs and not taking them. Going from 1-11 to 5-8 was because we played some flawless games but mostly we did enough to get by that first year of SL.. Year two it was score and pray, with the occasional defensive stop.. Year 3 is when this needs to be finally put together.. Most of the offense, defense will be all SL, GH, TR guys.. Mason could be making the case potentially for some national awards potentially with the graduation of Wilson meaning Fine will have more on his plate..
-
Honest question for the recruiting people out there.. How worried should we be about Shaw right now, for example? Im assuming he had a great visit with Yellock and Biagi, but he still hasn’t visited on campus, I’m guessing? How important is it for a kid to visit before committing? Yes we have had kids commit here without ever visiting, but wondering how much of an impact it truly has on a kid?
-
Awesome, I had seen clips of Wilson talking about going to the air-raid but had not seen who the new OC was or the system he uses.
-
UTSA did not have the same offense do they usually did not target the same kids.. UTSA has a new OC and it was discussed that they could be shifting to the spread/air-raid.. if they do it will increase the number of offers to the same kids.
-
Realistically, the defense can not get much worse.. but SL kept Reff and did not make any chances to the defensive staff so who knows..
-
Lol the sad thing is 4, could be an understatement.. UTSA new QB, new offense, best defensive player.. ODU/LT do the QBs progress? SMU can they get by without Quinn/Sutton..
-
We play 4 very soft teams (Liberty, UTEP, Rice, I-Word).. This slate of games is when UNT should be blowing people out and getting onto the radar of the national media.. I’m sorry but if Arkansas struggles, SMU struggles our toughest opponent will be FAU who will also be in a struggling CUSA conference. FAU took a number of schools out back and beat down them down and still was not ranked nor got a significant number of votes.
