  1. Siggers I think can be the real deal for us. Davis, I hope that he plays at the Rover spot that allows him the ability to roam and see the play happen, allowing him to play like a LB but be away from the OL that would eat him up White could have huge potential for us, because of his size alone. Multiple players can wear the same jersey #, they just can not be on the field at the same time.
  2. Agreed, but at the rate of construction that UNT is looking at this flag pole may not be up before its completed lol, with the delay for the soccer track, and the IPF delayed announcement.
  3. With all the construction that is going on and will be going on, no one will be going 80 anytime soon
  4. Well this post didn't age well... with Comey saying it himself, and agreeing that everything was leaked BUT this lol. Comey saying it himself....
  5. Houston is huge, and I have no idea how UH is viewed but UNT is viewed as the back up to the likes of TCU and SMU in DFW. But kids are likely to pass on UNT because of the lack of success with getting kids to the pros, on top of the other off things as well. Also, it doesn't hurt that UH hired Herman and gave him the tools to build something, along with Herman having Ties to Texas and bringing in coaches with ties as well. Herman was the right coach, who got the benefit as well as coming in after Briles and Sumlin, who made UH an offensive powerhouse. If SL is Briles or even Sumlin ( from his UH days) then this is the start of something, but UNT as an entire school needs to change how it is viewed. UNT has to find a way to get out of being the bridesmaid school and fall back for people.
  6. I would agree, and most probably do call. But none of us truly knows.
  7. Judging by the teams that they played, College of the desert is a JUCO
  8. That is good to know that they are working with the local hospital. Also, hopefully they do the same with the trainers as well, and use current students as well.
  9. I would like them to announce or showcase the design, just doing that it would get more people interested and looking at the program. Also, it would probably be followed up with a few more donations as well from alumni that maybe impressed. Then later on they can announce the naming rights, which would give us a potential another chance to showcase and talk about the IPF as well. I don't think that will be that it would happen like that but what is worrisome is how long its taken to announce it. But I would like to have them start on it or at least announce it before the start of fall camp. We can wish :(
  10. He played RB at Ryan, but that doesn't seem to make much sense for us with us having Siggers, Johnson from this class, to go along with the SFA transfer. Also, It was said on the board that he would be a LB or that Rover player for us, with him playing some on offense. I would prefer if Davis was on defense, because of the athletic ability and he seems to be an individual that could a leader as well.
  11. I would think out of respect that the recruit would text the staff member that he is in connect with, if that is the coach that is assigned to his region or if its the position coach.
  12. They also have Davis on offense and not defense.
  13. Would love to add this kid as an OLB, believe in the Jack spot that is what Wheeler players. Adding kids like Bradford the DE/ OLB Jeremy Fowler from Manor would be huge to our defense. Give Koonz and Yellock Fowler and Bradford, because they are my favorite DL/OLB targets so far.
  14. It's because of kids these days want to go out and be on their own. I'm sure when everyone was younger they wanted to go experience new things and be away from home. That is what hurts us with local products, that and them being fully aware of the struggles in the recent history here with UNT. Also, it doesn't help that UNT is almost always viewed as the "backup" school for kids as well. Yes UNT is great, but high school kids look at the name of the school and not the actual education level. Kids would rather go to Baylor or TCU, or even Tech because they are viewed as bigger names. When I was in HS, kids would rather go out of state to someone like OSU or OU over going to UNT because of the name alone.
  15. Any idea when it will be announced? I think alot of us are wondering about it.
  16. I don't think that it was anything that UNT did wrong. When Gage committed the first time, he did it himself without talking to his parents or coaches, and then backed off it then recommitted. Then he just recently decommited, but he says that we are still in his top schools (who knows where we rank and how many). From what I recall, he has not picked up any other offers since he committed to us. I think that its other bigger schools had offered in the past, and he committed to us, and he wants to see if he can get other bigger offers than what is already out there. He got offered by the likes of Colorado, Tech. Who knows, maybe his dreams school is still out there and he hopes that he can pick up an offer from whoever it is. I think we will see players lock in commitments earlier this year because of the earlier NSD, and kids not wanting to lose an offer that they like. If this happens, then you will see programs like HOU that gets 10-15 kids to sign in december not be able to offer to as many kids like they did Bradley the week before NSD, leading to UNT being able to add talented kids that progressed during their senior year while bigger schools already have kids committed that didn't progress as much as others. But I think that we are in a solid position. Gage committed to us twice, that being him doing it on his own and then him doing it again once other people had input. Also, I'm going to say that with him reaching out to the likes of Syracuse/Kent State among others that he is still likely to stick with UNT over those guys if he passed on Colorado/Tech for UNT in the first place. The thing that UNT needs most is just to improve its image, and this is something that is on WB and NS. The building of the IPF will be huge because it shows a commitment to the athletic department. Also, it will help having other sports being successfully as well. If Basketball can be improved and show the improvement that GMac had at his previous stop, it will help because of the increased $ that are coming in and it will possibly even lead to a bit more positive coverage as well. Also, it would be nice to give the recruits something else to do when they come and visit as well.
  17. I do agree that the thing that hurts UNT the most is how it is viewed throughout the entire state.Either people have not heard of UNT, they only know it as a school that is has been a loser for years, or being one of the more liberal arts schools in the state. It hurts UNT that when people see or hear UNT that they automatically think of it as a loser, or a back up plan. SL and his staff are changing that thought process of HS coaches thinking that, and the coaches are out there meeting with players and their families selling them on what UNT WILL BE and not what UNT HAS BEEN. From what has been said by Vito in his blogs, by JayD on the podcast is that HS coaches have made a shift in how UNT is viewed. It takes a lot of work to get rid of negative thoughts about UNT. Getting HS Coaches to buy in and accept and believe in HS is a major thing. HS Coaches are important because of the relationships and because they are very important in some of these players recruiting processes. I'm sure @GMG24 may know of how other coaches have seen a change between the old staff and this new one, and that he can also talk about the importance of HS Coaches in the recruiting process as well. Also, I wasn't on here or know much about the Mac recruiting, but from how people have talked it seemed like Mac and his staff didn't do much recruiting during the season and that they always played catch up nor did they seem to be as available as this current staff. If this is true, it doesn't help having coaches that stay on campus and ones who don't reach out as much as they should like this staff is. SL and his staff may not be "ACE" recruiters but SL is a very smart football mind and coach.
  18. You can call people gullible for voting for him, but he only got elected because he was running against that moron of a candidate HRC. She should be in jail for the sever and the classified information that was on there, let alone the emails that she sent out with classified information. He can call it a BAN because it is what he said to his die-hard supporters. But if you look at the information and what the EO was then you would see that it is not a BAN.
  19. 3. Adrian Awasome Wasn't he on the Super Bowl NY Giants team that beat the Patriots with the Tyree catch, but got sent home because of DUI or something?
  20. UNT90 has hacked someones account!
  21. He said that they are still in his top schools. Hut He reached out to coaches at Bowling Green, Kent, Ole Miss, and Syracuse
  22. dang it! I thought we had a leak of information, guess not :(
  23. Well all of his tweets at coaches following his decommitment are defensive coaches. If we were offering as a WR it was a mistake The kid tweeted at Kent State, Ole Miss, Bowling Green, and Syracuse.
  24. I'm thinking its Martin with the shade that was tossed out tonite on twitter by a certain UNT recruiting account after a recruit went to a different schools camp.
