  1. Games like Boise would be a draw. But yea most MWest wouldn't be a major draw in terms of media but the others conferences would.
  2. Can I please ask you do one. If he elects to go to UNT or some place else. Could he please say what were the good/bad things about the way he was recruited by UNT. If it's simple things from more edits to more interaction, or even more better access, whatever. I have no idea how often/if at all the coaches get any type of input into why a recruit picks or passes over UNT. But Jaxson is a kid that will see a lot of different things out there and it could help UNT in the future. (Hopefully my late night rambling makes sense) Is this a new UNI?
  3. 100% agreed. UNT and the staff should be bringing/asking groups of kids and their coaches to come up every week! Best way to do it is let's the kids spread word of mouth how they enjoyed it and the coaches see it evolve and grow over time! Word of mouth is the best type of information!
  4. If UNT were to move into a bigger conference such as Pac12 or SEC, or even the MWest then you would see a growth in the DFW market. DFW is a huge market that would be appealing to these conferences. The only problem is that UNT isn't appealing in terms of sports. UNT has a huge alumni base in DFW, and is one of the largest schools in the nation as well. The Teir 1 education is impressive to conferences because it's another accomplishment for them. DFW is also a top 5 media market and a market that is endless growing and fertile with recruits. All reasons for conferences to be interested. Investment in facilities are a major improvement and will make the AD department attractive to other conferences, and going to bowls regularly. UNT has a lot going for it, now is the the time to invest and dream big!
  5. That should be the plan with every freshman QB. The only question is, do we have the QB to be allow that to happen?
  6. Really hoping we can get York. Would be a solid addition to the OTs
  7. Please be a multiple year JUCO or grad transfer.
  8. With him being a safety, just have him watch McClains highlight tape from the first Army Game and he will see what Reff can do with his safety's. Doesn't hurt that McClain was 1st team D either.
  9. Not super worried, with the # of OL that we have gotten so far. Would hope we can get the OT York.
  10. Big kid. I would think it's as a DT?
  11. Would be interesting. We lost 2 Blueshirts in King and Tibbs, with Hall filling the BS slot of Grier or however you spell his name that went to the JUCO baseball route.
  12. Never put them up on a pedestal. Was pointing out the factors that recruits think about. Just like how conferences would likely look at different things as well. If you can't realize that UNT has lagged behind for decades in the AtHletic Department, while others have made steps forward you want to reconsider the titles you call me. UTSA has progressed in athletics for the past decade while we had been stuck in the mud with RV. The education said UNT wipes the floor with UTSA because of the history of academics and the Tier 1 because UTSA just hasn't had the time, history, or investment over the years we have. Being a top 5 media market as well is huge, and one of the reasons that Pac12 wanted Colorado when they weren't as well. It allowed the pac12 to broadcast in a major market. Yes, SA is a top 20/30 market I would think, but again DFW is a top 5. UNT has the largest student population as well in DFW, with the one of the larger graduates rates in the state as well, so there is an alumni base here for if UNT joined a bigger conference. Also, Denton is a easier place to get to because of DFW airport as well. If UNT were to join a power conference as well it would alllow UNT to move up the list of "What to do on a Saturday List" that we lag on behind other teams in the DFW Market.
  13. Believe that is what has been done in the past with TCU joining the Big12, and the Pac12 paying for Colorado and Nebraska.
  14. Kick Return, maybe some Punt Return then catching passes and rushing
  15. UNT wouldn't be leaving for 3/4 more years at best. Also bigger conferences would have no problem coming up with that.
  16. Picked up an offer from Illinois tonite, with other offers from MidWest State And ULM
  17. No idea, if SEC was looking to expand in a few years and UNT had been winning and upgraded Facilities it would be attractive because they would bring in DFW. Pac12 could look at UNT if they had been winning and upgrading again because of DFW and they had been talking with UT/OU pairing. But UNT has the high academic that the Pac12 seems to like as well. Yes very unlikely and UNT isn't the sexiest name compared to the potential breakup of the Big12, but I'm sure UNT would be willing to take a smaller cut to join along with the higher academic success as well. The other schools would like it as well since it allows access to DFW recruits as well, and gain it as a market for broadcasting of games.
  18. lol it's safe to assume, but he would likely be a welcomed addition.
  19. UNT needs to keep improving facilities and improve the winning %. Doing that will make UNT acctractive to other conferences that are looking to expand. Being in a Top 5/10 market in th nation is huge for UNT, with it being the largest school in DFW as well. Being a Tier 1 also will help in terms of being attractive to conferences and academics.
  20. His twitter bio says he is a 2 for 2 guy.. and he took down his UNT tweets
  21. Thanks, I figured him but had no idea if I was overlooking someone. Would have been nice having McNeal and Guyton though.
  22. Interesting the Purdue offer since its from the old WKU staff.
  23. I'm assuming Guyton was the other? Or am I drawing a blank on another WR?
  24. Awesome news. Hope they can keep this trending up. Let's the kids show off the offers and commitments, a solid impression when other kids see the posts as well.
  25. Good thing is that UNT at least had some positive views of UNT as well.
