18' OT/DT Jordan Redfearn Aubrey, Tx

That and what was tweeted out from the untouchable/ GMG Recruiting account said UNT landed an OL. My only worry is that we have picked up multiple interior OL, and not much in terms of tackles... Both Moses, Newman, Pahinui, Weatherspoon from this past class then adding Brown and Carroll in the upcoming class and now Redfearn... Parish, and Brammer most likely being the Tackles. I'd like to see Redfearn at RT, but i'm not sure about his feet is all. -

I didn't think of that, but I would love to see that. and agreed, it should be put to use... Hell, give a sticker to everyone who graduates or even gets admitted to UNT... -
No problem, I was hoping that they had it but they didn't.. They have hoodies though LOL

Darden and Johnson i think are mostly are behind guys that have been in the offense for a year. Johnson isn't he similar to Smith/Wyche in terms of style? and Darden with Griffin? I would say if so, give them a year if they can, but if they are that talented (compared to what we currently have) play them a lot and often -

@TheReal_jayD was the first one on this -------------------------------------------------------- Gotta say would love to see a line combo of Moses, Newman and Redfearn from LG to RG. I love his film at DT/Nose Guard, but my favorite highlight was one of the first ones that he drove his man into the ground and popped off his helmet. Hopefully he comes in and can be that enforcer/ mean-streak OL. -
Hopefully a tackle.. to me we seem to have gotta mostly guards

Could not find it in the campus bookstore.

Agreeing with what @GMG24 said that its just what are comfortable with and what has been offered to other Grad-Transfers that have had interest in UNT... The track record of him hurts, but what also hurts is that he is a 1 and done just like Morris and Hood.... With him counting against the 25 Scholarships to next years class that is what makes think we would offer him as a PWO. If he passes on it and goes to someone else that is fine. It saves one scholarship to next years class which has lost 4-5 scholarships. If he passes and goes else where in TX that is fine with me, just means 1 more talented kid will be available.

DRC: Report shows UNT ranked 3rd in C-USA in revenue
BTG_Fan1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
We all should be able to agree that the Locker Room is somewhat of a luxury in terms of putting money into it. Yes it would be nice to have a raised ceiling with the UNT Eagle design, and yes it would be awesome to have the under glow/back glow like the basketball team. But that stuff is just a cherry on top. What needs to be done first is the IPF and the expansion of the offices. We shouldn't make the weight-room to an average G5 weight room, we need to be the best and then some and have it match p5 schools. The IPF is an IPF, you can't do much to make that different from others besides the exterior look, but again it needs to look the part of a P5 IPF(Hell have a brick design of Joe Green). The nutritional center as well needs to be something that rivals the p5s. Yes all this will cost a lot of money, but UNT needs to view this as a way to jump ahead of other programs and show they are serious. Look the part of a P5 program, and it will leave kids with a nice impression when they have to compare UNT to other programs. Also, when re-alignment comes up it will be another nice piece for UNT to sale to conferences showing the commitment/investment. WB has shown that the commitment with improvements to the Tennis Facility, and the announcement of the Soccer/Track stadium. To make up some of the $, the school could easily sale a brick with ones name/class and have an alumni walk way into the Apogee/ whatever sports complex that a person wants, among other things.. Heck I'm sure that some people would even come out of the wood-work if they saw some of this stuff.. and I'm sure some people would donate a little more as well. It would also likely get the attention of recent/ up coming gradates as well. -
Fine should have had 3 or 4 INTs that game... That is when the regression started for him.
-
Weatherspoon looks like a totally different person/body type now from the pics of him before. Hopefully these new workouts show alot of improvement on the field next year!
-
They need to do this more.... The improvement in the social media game is great to see, hopefully for even better things in the future. Would like to see things for individual recruits for them to put as there phone background, even do edits for former players as well.

I'm hoping for improvement in the record 6-6 or better... or if that isn't able to happen then we need to show improvement in terms of developing kids for next year and years after. If the record is less than 6 wins then it really comes down the staff needing to find out what they have on this roster. What I mean by that is that is this staff needs to give playing time to everyone and see what they can do. Instead of only playing only Fine and Quinn, they need to put in guys like Ohara, Izzy, Carson, and RS Pearson and have him sit for a year.. Find out which guys are just practice arms and which guys show something that can be developed. Pearson for him to learn the offense, Johnson to get bigger, Darden to learn and develop as a WR (similar to what Griffin did), White to put on LBs, the OL kids for them to get a year in the offense and a year in the weight room. Siggers I think is the most ready of the incoming Freshman but hopefully the depth at RB allows him to RS, with us having Wilson, Smith, Tucker, Wyche, and the SFA kid. On defense, I think its likely we RS the DL kids because of the depth that we have but to also allow them to get a year stronger as well. T.Davis from Denton Ryan, I would like to RS to allow him to get used to and develop into that Rover spot (which he talked about in the UNT DNA video about him practicing with Preston.) The DB Johnson from Houston will likely come in and play some but I hope we can RS and allow him to learn the fundmentals of the spot from guys like Jenks, Brooks, etc. The Juco kid Hall should come in and hopefully play that nickel back role allowing Moore, the freshman last year to develop some more hopefully. I know that its not going to to happen, but people say that Murray is a 1st/2nd team C-USA player, and to me I don't see it. I would honestly think he could be a nice DT. He is a big body kid and long as well. We also need to realize that while we lost a lot of experience at some key spots like WR (Goree, Buyers, TT, Robinson, Wilson), LB (Finney and Scott), and DB (Gray and Davis) we do have talent guys to come in and replace them. Guyton should give us a boost, a full year of Rico as well and Smiley turned it on late as well. Garner played well in Scotts absence last year with Ej hopefully being able to play solid as well. Hall and Muhammad should step in and play to replace Gray and Davis, but these are likely the biggest questions spots outside of OL and Punter. I do think having the Lamar game for the first game of the year is huge. We saw this team come out last year and make mistakes and probably play to amped up for the SMU game. Lamar should be a game that we can play and get the 1st game hype out of the way and get these kid playing confident going into SMU. Honestly, hoping for a big W vs Lamar to build momentum going into SMU. With that being said, hopefully Brooks/Jenks can shut down or help prevent Sutton from having a big game would go a long way to helping. Sorry for the long story/post.. GMG -
I'll check tomorrow when I'm on campus. Hopefully he replies back... They took a photo as well of Wilson running in for a TD at the HoD game that I wish that they would have for sale as well.

WB needs to call him up for a MGC and season tickets! -
Can we get back to the topic of the kid/player... He has messed up yes, and again while its illegal things that he has done or taken it shouldn't overshadow him completely. He is a talented kid, but a knucklehead. Offer him as a PWO, if he takes it great but if not no biggy. We offered the WR from AZState a PWO for him to play 1 year and he passed it on to go to UH. This WR corp isn't overflowing with talent, but its not bare either... The likes of Rico, Guyton, Smiley will carry the WRs with the likes of Lawerence, Griffin, Khan, Durhon, White, Darden. Factor in the TEs in Chumley and Smith and it will be a nice group of kids. I'm sure I overlooked some other kids at WR and TE as well. CEL would likely just be a return man for us, and while we needed one last year and still do need one its not worth burning a scholarship for a 1 year guy.
-
Yep that's the one I'm looking for. I'll check and see if it is at bookstore because I haven't seen it at Apogee.

This season will come down to the OL and if they can improve and on the QB. If the OL can just be average and not give up as much pressure that will help the QBs. QB play will be important because Fine has to show progression. The WRs will be better this year than last. Guyton, Rico, Griffin over Goree, TT, and Buyers. TT was solid of the 3 and Buyers was a leadership guy who Jeff Wilson will replace. Goree was not anything special. -
If you send me a picture of it (just to confirm it's the one I'm thinking), I can check and see if they have at the bookstore on Monday.

PWO, take it or leave it.. not going to burn a scholarship on a 1 year guy unless its a very notable player.

DRC: Echols-Luper transferring, has interest in UNT
BTG_Fan1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Agreed... Tell him he can come here as PWO with a 0 tolerance and even if there is a slightest doubt/worry then he will be gone. Not sure that it would make players question it. SL showed he was serious about off the field stuff, and giving him (Luper) a chance is well worth it possibly. If he were to come here as a PWO which is what likely the offer would be since it was rumored that is what we offered the former Denton WR that went to AZ-State that before he went to UH. Also, likely him knowing its his last season he would hopefully straighten up and him having family near by as well can hopefully help as well. We do not have a return man and even if he just returns punts and kicks, and plays in the WR rotation it is worth it as a PWO. I have no idea about his size if it could allow for us to RS Darden, then do it and bring him in... once he slips up he is gone, but if he doesn't he could bring in a few NFL talent guys and that will help out McClain, Jenkins, and WIlson. -
