  1. You wanna get people to come to the games... UNT has multiple big name musical Alumni's.... No idea what it costs or anything... Offer them to come do a pre-game, and a half-time concert.. You wanna get the attention of some recruits, and leave an nice little impression on them and get a nice crowd have Alicia keys, or some other come and preform.
  2. If you can't connect the points or anything so far, its a hopeless cause....
  3. He hasn't picked up any offers on twitter since decommitting outside of Cisco JUCO (I believe it was). We have gotten him to commit to us twice and I'm not sure about how many of the older offers stand... Maybe someone with some more experience or knowledge about the past offers of like Colorado and that, if they still stand. It will be interesting because people have said he reached out to Tech, but its possible they fire the current staff... I have hope that we can still pull it out, but its looking like it maybe down to Illinois as our challenger for Gage and Gibbs.
  4. I'd rather take a bigger pay day from UF or Iowa for them to play us at there house, take a smaller check and we play 1 there and then one here. Get games at home that you can control like lamar. Its not a sexy match up, but it should be a W.. the more wins the better even if you have to play a non sexy match up. Make it a regular thing to win at home and maybe that brings out a few more people, and those wins get us to a bowl game.. after a few season of bowls and some winning records with improved facilities, then we will be picking up steam. I'm not poo-pooing the whole playing p5s, I would just rather not get massacred at home by someone and it drive fans away like the Portland State game did, which yes its a P5 but its still a big L... the only reason why Tenneesee didn't blow us out a few years ago was because there HC knew Chico...
  5. Plus it is another great pitch to give to kid when asking them about what they wanna do for a career... UNT has nearly the entire Sherman HS Staff, UNT players and former assistants have also gotten multiple other coaching after being at UNT.
  6. The problem isn't us... the problem is that the school and the different programs should be doing this stuff already or shoulda been doing this stuff for years... Yes its awesome to get 4 or 5 bucks for a bumper sticker in the bookstore, but give out a sticker to all graduates should be a practice that is already done... Doing that would to more people finding out about UNT slowly, but over time the name will be grow... The only problem at a game is that people are likely to disregard it or it would be the same people at multiple games, graduates getting it in the mail with a degree would be hyped up (because its a completion of a degree) and likely to put it on there car or something to show pride in UNT.
  7. Pac12 is on of the top 2 or 3 conferences in the NCAA... Sadly, C-Usa and the Sunbelt are likely the bottom 2 or 3
  8. True about progress is progress, but they need to build it right and have it be something that they do not need to update in just a few years... when its built make it leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else so they have to catch up and UNT can focus on other things or keep making these adjustments... We just have to hope that we don't run into problems like the Soccer/Track stadium did. The IPF will be critical to the future of UNT.
  9. Well, just saying but he just recently started following and they followed back multiple Illinois accounts and 1 Illi design account as well.
  10. Yes a Pac12 school just beat out 1 Cusa, and 2 sunbelt... to them we are basically a FCS program..
  11. Thats good to hear, but its still just a design on a piece a paper till they break ground on it (not to be a Negative Nancy).. Look at the Soccer/Track Stadium or even the new dorm by Kerr (they broke ground on it months ago and blocked off a couple hundred parking spots) and still nothing... The IPF hopefully is completely planned out and ready to roll once it is announced for them to start on it ASAP. Make UNT Sports Great Again
  12. Can't doubt the kid about that.. but just saying... MLB contracts are basically fully guaranteed, shoulda traded it at pro ball and if not walk away and go play football like Brandon Weeden lol
  13. You have to wonder if the AZST fans are mad that his best offers were UNT, ULM and TXST?
  14. Says he is committing on Sept 15... so
  15. QBs wanna go to big name programs because of name of the program, kids now discount playing for 3 or 4 years and then going pro.. Also, these kids have been told from a young age that they are the best and most of them never run into someone as talented as them. They all think that they will come in and play because the kid before them isn't as talented or the kid after them won't catch or pass them in terms of development. It also doesn't hurt to have the shiny new toys like Texas AM does...
  16. Not saying that at all about the difference in a 4* and 2*... Using the term scheme is the same as using offense, style, etc. Getting kids that can fit this style of play is critical. Getting kids that have played in spread and passing offenses is an asset. They also use similar terms and do similar things, compared to a kid that we get that would come from a triple-option or wishbone. We have seen first-hand having kids that are not used/built for this scheme not have success (look at last years results). This offense is completely different than what Mac ran. Getting kids that have been in it and that can develop into it are critical.
  17. Baseball likely isn't happening within the next 5 years.. Honestly, I think we are more likely to get a new basketball area before baseball is even started.. Baseball isn't a revenue sport but basketball can be, and with the money that has been invested into the basketball program, it shows that basketball is a priority. Honestly, it would be amazing to get a baseball team up in Denton but WB has talked about getting the current programs up to standard and then to go out and add different sports.
  18. Shoulda came to UNT when he was leaving AM.. woulda sat out last year and then likely started from here on out...
  19. Article goes on to talk about schools like TCU, Baylor, Houston, OK State, and Boise State have some possible interest but that they want to see him healthy
  20. A lot of money the school is missing out on as well.. I can understand allowing the players and coaches to have specific gear, but they should do players and coaches get shirt xyz for the 2016 season then in 2017 its released to fans with coaches getting something new for 2017 and then that is released the following year to the fans with it repeating...
  21. I'd love to see Moses, Redfearn, and Newman in the middle of that OL just clearing the way for Nic Smith, Siggers, and Johnson.
  22. Building depth and getting the right kids for this scheme is critical on the OL... After last years adjustment period and seeing how bad it was, adding as many as possible is a need.
  23. Hopefully UNT is staying in contact with Gibbs
  24. Thanks for that, it wasn't on 24/7... Also, we know you're a defensive coach.. but how does he stack up for OL? To me he looks like an OG because of his feet, but hoping that I'm being over-critical and he can be a tackle...
  25. That extra year will be given at the end of his time at UNT... I think he is a 4 and 4 guy now with him using his RS his first year at KSU, then having to miss last year as a transfer.
