True, but again you have to spend money to make money.. The university is growing, one of the largest and great value for tuition. NS has talked about making this a "Tier 1" athletic school, have the school present the plans and I'm sure you will get some more donations. Recent alumni want to have a reason to cheer for UNT, and UNT investing in themselves first will go a long way in showing and impressing fans and soon to be graduates.

I think it was more about stuff that will be coming soon.. At then rate the IPF is going, I'm guessing it will be an in season, but wish it was before the season. Would be a way to get fans to come in see it, and offer season ticket packages, etc.. make it into a way to energize fans before the season.

Baseball doesn't not get you into relevance.. if that was true you would see baseball power programs doing better than they are.. Rice, Pepperdine are just notable names that have not seen anything.. heck Long Beach state has turned out notable big names and where are they in football? Heck Tulsa doesn't have it but yet people say we should be like Tulsa. It is idiotic to spend and lose more money on baseball while we need to improve current sport facilities.. the IPF will benefit the track team, soccer, football.. Improve the Athletic Complex and the other current facilities.. having tennis courts with giant cracks, having no track stadium is ridiculous, and the Superpit is currently on its last leg. The funding needed to start a baseball program would cost more alone than just redoing the locker room and getting it to look like LAT, and the new weight room is in the plan for the IPF.. Baseball is something that is down the road and will be coming, WB has talked about adding it once the other sports are up to date/ on par/ above others. We can complain saying we want it but multiple other things are ahead of it.

We could get baseball but in an AD Budget that is having to spend $ to catch up after the years of not keeping up, we currently don't have the money to spend... Baseball is a sport that is a drain on the AD Budget because it doesn't turn a profit (usually around 2 millions in lost revenue).. spend that 2 million on building a nice weight room and IPF that will benefit multiple sports or spend that money on fixing up the Superpit and its concourse water stained roof titles.. fix the current problems instead of over extending and making a thing Budget even thinner.. also, this post just goes on to show that UNT isn't just behind D1 regional schools but behind high schools.

This has been needed at UNT.. we have lacked in the Marketing department in terms of getting UNT out there and people being up to date with the sports.. Also great seeing them get help with the Rangers as well.. they have been great at marketing for a few seasons now.

How do you think this will affect recruiting (We may need a new thread)? But will it lead to more kids taken bigger schools offers quicker and more kids fall through the cracks or more kids waiting?

Isn't Koonz dad an HC? Also, would like to see TVCC, AZ West, or LAV and hope we can get some air time somehow.

WB and NS better be making designs to have our facilities on top for years to come.. not doing remodels in 2/3 years..

Already emailed him an idea about using the IPF announcement as a way to get people hyped up for the season... IPF announcement then do an open house type thing at Apogee/Ath. Center showing what and where everything would be.. And hope that gets some more donations/MGC memberships/ season ticket sales... Basically do it similar to the Spring game (if that is allowed)

Its good to see Yellock and Kootz on this and thats what I figured because we currently don't have anyone in the pipeline to replace them off the top of my head.. Agreed about the list that it is a list of schools we should beat, only problem is he listed of LAT among other P5s he would like to go too... Hopefully we can still get him, would be a nice talent to add.

Just finished season 2... It will be interesting how different they are next year compared to the first 2 seasons... They lost some major key pieces to the success of that team... Also, UNT needs to find a way to get that OC here, yes its JUCO ball but he could sure as hell call a game... And yes that is what happens when you have a legit QB (which we have lacked)

Add in the bonehead plays that they made vs SMU that is another regular season win... Coulda been a totally different season if we had just focused on those 2 games.

It is the most recent, but I also believe we are the biggest school to offer him.. Just going to say as well from Vito's post.. Bell is looking to play early.. If he is a DL that may not happen, but if it is as a OLB then he could likely play early.

While we may think he is a bust, he should not be.... He came in and had 1 successful season... A bust would be someone like Morris that came in and didn't perform to what we expected. What did we expect from Wilson, not much before the season.. He went from an afterthought to start the year (in terms of success we thought he would have) to a luxury item that step up when the WR depth was lacked. I will say I was Team-Morris in terms of him getting pulled to fast, and then him preforming the last 3 games.

something doesn't add up with him recently.. His dog is stolen when he is out of town, but no idea who the person is that took it, but the person who took it had his phone #, etc... This time someone claimed no ID and knew Lucky's DL #, Social, DOB, and looked like him as well

Hope this kid has a good year, because SL was his OC at UNC... Even though he didn't go to UNT, would be a nice recruiting tool for UNT as well for him to talk about SL

I think adding Thomas, Bell, and Fowler at the DE/OLB spot would cause nightmares in a few years for teams... Adding Dove, I think could help our chances with Rucker... Dove, Davis, LeBlanc would be attractive I think.. Shorter has def blown up in terms of his offers since we offered and I would allow him to be a WR or TE, whichever gets him to campus... Gibbs would be a great addition to replace McClain

Good experience for the students, allows the staff to potentially see the students in action and know who performs for them hire them after the internship as well... Been saying it for awhile now... Endless amount of students that could be used, and ways to get them paid... Through the AD office, Work Study, etc, bring them in and let a team of them fill in the open spots or even replace under performing staffers.
