  1. Said it in another thread, but you should join Ben, 90 and others in applying with the AD Office and Football staff.. Y'all bash the staff on recruiting, and you guys would do an amazing job from how yall talk on here... Don't say y'all have careers, because in college football good recruiters get paid according to yalll.. Factor in the poor ability to evaluate and project players from HS to college hurt us, but the biggest thing to hurt us was the previous staff not reaching out and meeting with high school staffs... Our new recruit QB, Beans, coach said that he had not seen the UNT in years till SL and them started coming around.
  2. The article says that it costs 22k.. with it including Tickets for up to 12, food, parking...
  3. Decommited from Kansas
  4. Thats from the HOD description (I'm hoping) --------------------------------------- Also, the Athletic Center Lobby has been stripped down as well.. No idea if that means its close to be announced, but hoping that it will be
  5. That is what I thought they were, but didn't know if was something else potentially... Hope our remodel goes something like this eventually
  6. Once again, no reason to give up on it... WB has answered it and said that baseball will be a sport here once the other sports are up to par... It will come, now instead of coming ASAP, it will be down the road, but it is coming...
  7. Just going to say, but that endzone office/ weight-room is nice... Does it also have seats as well? How again did LAT upgrades led to baseball? Oh right us wanting to stretch an already tight budget even farther to bring in more sports.... Dear lord guys, lets build an IPF/ Weight-room/ offices and provide current sports a stadium... then we can discuss a baseball team... If you really want it that bad, I'm sure WB would be willing to speed up the process if you/ a group of yall wanna drop a couple million on it.. till then its upgrading our CURRENT sports teams and facilities...
  8. Jackson is someone to watch after the top 3 WRs (Rico, Smiley, Guyton) and Darden./Hair-Griffen...
  9. Thats what I was thinking they would do the 2 level tents, but then it would cover up the other sponsors that are online that railing between the field and the walk/drive way
  10. LOL, but from how I took it to mean, the other endzone.. The non-running out of endzone with the larger tents but I have no idea... Haven't seen the designs for the endzone
  11. No idea but they are selling tents for out on the hill on game days, and some are over 1k....
  12. Knew about the UTSA, but no idea about Rice.... They need promote this stuff better on campus... The UTSA thing, they did Thursday afternoon/evening and left Saturday morning.. buy through the AD Office, UNT gets more $ that way
  13. I was just up at Apogee working with the AD Office, they are going to be putting in tents there, like we had tents at the HOD Bowl from what I was told...
  14. Between Spring and now.. they had posted up a video and we noticed it a few weeks ago
  15. kid has not even committed yet and we have written him and this staff off... LOL
  16. Hopefully they can find a guy late, which is unlikely but we can hope
  17. Ahhh so profanity fires up the opposition... That's why we have been so bad in years past, we didn't talk nice enough about this team
  18. Baseball will take years for it to catch up once it is started.... Till then WBB will be the 3rd sport... Plus we have to factor in that UNT would likely want to support JM and WB is a basketball guy as well...
  19. Hopefully this is because of him being the oldest guy in the room... (QB Room that is)
  20. Look at the #s.. Football and MBB will out make any baseball team... WBB is the largest womens sport... Please tell me what sports besides Football and MBB brings in more people than WBB??? Not track because of no stadium.. Not Tennis.. Not Swimming.... Soccer but doubtful...
  21. Hoping and praying that this offense can play fast and smart... 2 things on each side of the ball... 1) Fine needs to have better understanding of the offense and be more accurate with passes... He did not help the WRs last year at times, nor did they help him either. 2)Offensive line have a better understanding and ability to know who should play where... us using multiple different OL alignments during the season (and even during some games) can hurt us... Excited to see what Mose the G from Trinity can do, and what the T from ACU (mayfield, I believe) and hope they can come in and right the ship and allow other guys to fall into place. Defense- 1) Improve the pass-rush, and hopefully it will happen with a better/deeper DL and another year under Reff. More pressure hopefully allows for more INTs which hopefully will lead to McClain and Jenks getting NFL attention. 2) LB Depth is something that is very, very worrisome to me Hopefully Wilson will get a break more with someone like Nic Smith.. More trick plays after Keena? Im just hoping for the same level of play Hopefully having 1 voice, and another year in the scheme will help, plus Reff is the man who has used this defense for years.. hopefully will have better results
  22. We have 3 major sports now.. Football, and both basketball teams.... Those are the sports that can/should generate or break even in terms of cost of operation... Baseball will not
  23. The locker room has only had minor upgrades and it was never in the plan from what we can tell for it to under go a face lift. I don't think anyone would say that the locker room is the main reason a kid commits, but it is just another solidly placed factor to attract kids. Do the IPF/ weight room/ AD center expansion then after that we can talk about the locker-room. We can say we don't know if it will be a selling point or if it will improve recruiting, the only thing that will improve recruiting is winning.. Winning is done by coaching, look SL took basically the same squad from the year before to a bowl game (he appears able to coach). Giving SL and his staff more tools to use and to bring the UNT Athletic Department into this decade/and hopefully beyond in terms of facilities is critical. Some kids view it as a downgrade going from HS to UNT..,
  24. -------------------------------- This discussion of baseball is pointless, it is not happening any time soon and will happen AFTER the Soccer/Track is built, and the IPF is completed... Then it will be time to determine if the Superpit can be remodel/updated or they will moved or if it is time for baseball... We can say oh a P5 will not take on a school that doesn't have baseball... But I'm sure that a P5 will not consider a program that is even deeper in debt, hell look at UH they have baseball and they get overlooked... UNT can be sold to larger conferences because of the size of the school, alumni base, the market size, academic success., and hopefully success in the 3 major sports with a vision towards baseball.. Baseball is something that can be started up/planned as well (once those other projects are completed), and I wouldn't be surprised that in a few years if UNT was having success and was trying to get considered that they would have a plan for baseball. Again us saying that we need a baseball team to go P5 doesn't make sense, because we have multiple p5 teams in this nation without a hockey team.... Again sinking millions into baseball will eventually be done, the argument is right now that the budget that is being used is being maxed out in ways to catch UNT up into this decade in facilities, WB talked about it in the article with Vito. WB says outside of Apogee all of the other sports were average at best, and this is something that has to be fixed. We can say that facilities are something that will only decline in value but having cracked/faded tennis courts, a basketball stadium with water stained tiles/ no ticket office and not having a track stadium is PATHETIC, not to mention the lack of an IPF and weight-room... The logic of adding on baseball, isn't just baseball... it is adding on multiple other female sports to comply with TITLE 9.... So you are having to add in the loses of baseball on top of multiple other sports... Do that once basketball is having success and the football team as well...
  25. Track is a program that is currently being played and used to stay title 9 compliant.. so you wanna build/fund/ maintain a baseball program (which is at its most profitable level now, than once it plays its first game) then add in additional sports to comply with Title 9 and pass over the track team again which is without a home LOL.. oh and by the way they have already spent money in developing a new track stadium as well.. We can't even fill Apogee, why would anyone come up to Denton for a College Baseball game???? http://diycollegerankings.com/how-much-do-d1-colleges-spend-on-baseball-programs/2505/ This website talks about the costs in the SEC in 2009-2013 avg. over 3m, and around 2M for other power conferences, then with small conferences around 1M... At the bottom of the page you can type in schools names and see how much they were spending in 2013, Rice spent over 2M on average per season.. So I would guess that the 2M is on the very conservative side of the expenses.... We can say that its not right to compare UNT to rice because it is a private school vs a publis school but you can look at the conference avg and see that its nearly 1.2M and again we can figure that is to have increased since 2009-2013.... That does not factor in the costs of starting up the program as well....
