Does not affect him. I think that is a common thing of MLB teams offering to pay for school as well. So he may not require a scholarship either

If you think he is good at evaluating football talent, he is even better at the recruiting pitch... He and others could sale UNT from the bottom of C-USA to challenge schools like UH, and others

You may have missed it but he got an offer from UTSA, and a lot of people just threw in the towel on him... But would love to add him, solid offer list and a local kid as well. Wonder what is going on after we added the JUCO LB that would play that spot if his offer is still good ( I would hope so) I'd like that addition to the slot, but his HUDL. says he is a 4.8 40, which I'm guessing is incorrect?

Teams likely already filled out there rosters, and the medicals are another thing... Also, maybe what he wants in terms of $ doesn't match up.. If 1 or 2 LBs go down, it would be help him as well.

You are right that no one has any sway in the debate, but it we have no idea if he (SL) has eliminated Izzy... Last year the talk was on Morris and Fine, because they were the big names... Izzy should be talked about but has been overlooked because of his injury and not playing in the spring game, while Pearson played and looked as good or better than Quinn and Fine... SL has said he wants to RS QBs, and he will have his chance with Pearon with him having Quinn, Izzy, and Fine as guys who have either played or can't be RS... Yes this is all speculation on our part and either SL/GH will come out as knowing it all if this offense works but if it doesn't work out and it struggles it will lead to us wondering of what could have been... But I have A LOT more trust in the SL and the staff than I did in Macs staff, but again the negative mark for Macs staff is greater alone because of the Portland State game...

It shows that SL and the staff that he had could coach up kids, not the question is can these new guys and people in new spots keep that up? You can have a talented team but if you can't coach, nothing will happen.. Look at UT with all the talent under Charlie Strong they still did nothing (Yes it is one case, but still very apparent)... In the NFL look at Cleveland and Jacksonville with all the high draft picks and no success.. Coaching is the most important, with recruiting be 2nd.

We have guys with more offers than some UTSA guys for example, Rivers at UTSA and Pearson.. Rivers according to 24/7 was a 3* and had 0 other offers.. Pearson had 4 other offers (even if they weren't D1, he had offers) and he was rated lower.. We have people who complain saying the offer lists are not good enough, but yet that doesn't weigh into the player rating apparently... We say we want higher rated kids but yet we discount the highest rated QB in the room as fans? We can say that Izzy is out, but wasn't SL saying basically all the same things about Morris last year and that he is saying about Fine now??? Morris lasted 3 Quarters of the 1st game!!! We can deal with hypotheticals in where would Pearson rank/rate compared to Izzy.... Heck in 2 years if Pearson was so good, how do we even know if we could get him?? But the point is Izzy as of now is the highest rated QB we have... He has more experience playing in college (even if its JUCO) compared to Pearson and he was ranked a lot higher (likely) than Quinn and Fine. None of these QBs have proven anything, if anything they all have proven they are injury-prone with Fine Shoulder, Izzy Knee, O'Hara Shoulder, and Quinn's (toe, I believe) that lead him into getting an additional Medical RS year.. The QB job should NOT be just between Quinn and Fine, it should be a completely open competition because NO ONE has proven a thing here. Just like the back up RB job

Also, the only reason that I'm still a "student" is because of department and UNTs way of sucking out more $ from students with adding on an additional semester of "Internship Credit/Classes" but yet we never turn in any work or anything besides a review from the boss... I got my career on top of working another 20-25 hours with the AD Office... The point that was being made that has been lost here is that, Yes everyone has a career or things going on in there life (I never once doubted that)... The problem isn't that its just during the day, they are giving people the notice 3-WEEKS in advance for them to plan.. The problem is that we have a giant alumni base who do not give a damn about UNT sports, and yes it sucks that they are missing out on people that do care but again they are giving you 3-WEEKS to plan! We all should understand that but coming on here and saying you want it changed will never change a damn thing... If you wanna go, you can find a way to go.. If you wanna see things change then say something. I have no idea if WB or anyone in the AD office looks on here or if anyone even knows about it website, so us bashing the AD office on here will do nothing... Noon isn't a good time for you, but doing it at 5-6-7 isn't good for someone else.. You can call me whatever, not going to hurt my feelings... Its crying and complaining because it will not change a thing with it being posted on here, and it does not help solve the problem that you have and others have.. contact someone... Sucks that you complain about not being able to attend and you could do something about it (i.e. Half-day, work later, etc) but yet you blast the AD office when you have no idea the reasoning for the time... apparently you would have it another way if it meant you could attend these events.. Uniform combos maybe something some of us do not view as a big deal, but it's just another bonus thing for recruits similar to a lockeroom.. It's just another wrinkle to get kids attention and something to remember UNT by... honestly would love for them to do something like a week or 2 before the season for the students to get them hyped for the season

What makes me so sure he will struggle? 1- He regressed as the year went along last year. 2- Spring game he looked good then bad in other parts. 3- The height combined with a still patch-worked OL.. 4- The size and him getting banged up a # of times last year. 5- If he is struggling and our OL as well vs. just our own defense that is worriesome because A) they lack confidence or B) they truly can't not match up with them now, just wait till the regular season when teams unleash new formations, blitz, etc

If those guys buy in before they get kicked off or arrested...

Could it be that UTSA has a solid # of users and this leads to UTSA getting a more favorable rating boost than kids that come to UNT because of the lack of users from UNT? Hopefully this makes sense

Adding more guys that have had problems at P5s.... Yes it would be nice to add guys that are this talented, but not going to add guys that have problems with assaulting women, etc... SL kicked Goree and others off the team for things that these guys did..

Doesn't make sense to write of Izzy, when he was the higher rated QB in the class compared to Pearson.. Only differences is 1 has 4 years to play and on scholarship compared to 2 years and is a PWO... oh and the PWO is the higher rated player
