  1. And the University of Houston and now Miami made different decisions that they felt are best for their people. I don't see why that makes one classy and the other not.
  2. So the 100+ players, coaches, and staff who travel with the team should play a football game while Florida/their families get hit by one of the largest hurricanes in the history of the Atlantic Ocean?
  3. Looks like visitor tickets are in 116-120 and 218-219 LINK 2017_FootballSeasonTickets.pdf
  4. I would think that an additional benefit is the data the system collects. Requiring name, email, mobile phone, etc. allows them to collect very valuable data for when they graduate. Most importantly, that mobile phone number is huge. Who changes mobile phone numbers anymore? So now they have a great way to reach former students. In addition, they can see what games, sports, etc. each student attends. This will help with targeted sales calls/marketing down the line. It's another smart move by WB & Co.
  5. I agree with that, and I would hate to see any of that rerouted to pay for a football game.
  6. I couldn't disagree more. If UNT alums, fans, and city of Denton businesses have money to throw around like that, I would much rather them send those financial resources to the SE Texas region that is going to require a lot of financing to rebuild and rebound from the devastating weather they have dealt with the last week. Spending those resources to ensure a football game happens seems pretty wasteful at this point. If they can get here on their normal budget, then great. Let's play a game. If it requires extra finances, reschedule or cancel.
  7. I'm sorry I didn't phrase it exactly how you would have. I agree with you that they made a thoughtful decision that put human beings above the game of football, and I respect them for that. I was merely addressing the point that was made about it being hard for the football team to get out of Houston.
  8. The Houston decision must be out of respect to fans. The team is already in Austin, so there's more to this decision than just getting to SA.
  9. I say let whoever gives you the best shot at a big return return kicks. Names like Devin Hester, Deion Sanders, and Desmond Howard all come to mind. Special teams can be a huge game-changer. You can't play the game of football worried about injuries all the time. Play guys who give you the best shot at winning at all times.
  10. I agree with the frustration here. She should at least be trained enough that if she doesn't know the answer she finds you someone who does, even if she's a bookstore employee. It should not be this hard to give them your money. I would imagine, from what I know of the guy's history, that Ryan Peck will feel the same way. This was a dropped ball. It should not be the customer's responsibility to find out the benefits if he's standing in the store asking questions. That's on them.
  11. But why didn't they release the uniforms on a Saturday so people who work could pay more attention? ;)
  12. Anyone notice in the video there are 4 helmets? Green Chrome, Silver Chrome, White, and Matte Black? These uniforms, in general, just look more fresh. I dig it.
  13. Instead of a banner, we should get out in front of the P5 schools and fundraise for THIS
  14. $60 is dirt cheap if you look at the actual benefits. They'll get their $60 back quickly.
  15. As mentioned above, this is nothing new at NT. It's just the first time I remember seeing them call games "premium" vs. just having a higher price for certain games.
  16. Maybe Lincoln just needed to make some salary cap room for the next guy
  17. This is a great thing! Any new premium-type seats/buyers is good for the program. I have always thought there isn't enough going on in Apogee on game day to improve the atmosphere for the casual college football fan in Denton. To those who may have gone to some other school, Apogee needs to be a cool place to see a game with things other than just the game/stadium. IMHO, this pushes toward that goal. I've always wondered why the grass on the south end and the corners on the north end haven't been some kind of a party area(s).
  18. GO VOTE There are a lot of cool designs here and I love that schools are putting so much effort into little things like these. IMO, the Mean Green's is the best for simplicity's sake.
  19. Actually, they have done 3 game packages before. Glad to see they are still an option.
  20. Have you reached out to the athletic marketing team? They used to mail these and all you had to do was pay the cost of mailing.
  21. I see the coolness of the battle flag, but I think people who drive by with no ties to the school won't understand. I would go with the North Texas one during the week and have the battle flag for game days. Mixing it up would be a good attention grabber.
  22. Man, a solid article about a young up and coming coach at UNT and people here find a way to turn it negative... Amazing
  23. Coaches have to over offer. No team or coach in the country gets everyone they offer. There's no way you could wait until one player says no before you could offer the next player.
