Honestly, if someone buys out Seth's contract (no matter how big it is), that means UNT has had a hell of a run. I'll take it! Also, with the hires Wren has shown he's committed to making, I trust that the next head coach will be a good fit and continue the momentum. Worrying about the size of the buyout is a relatively minor concern to me. Let's win some games, raise some money, and sell some tickets! Everything else will take care of itself in due time.

I would imagine a lot of Aggies would end that sentence with "and that was with Sumlin lol"

I like it! Kind of makes me wonder what it would look like with the whole field that color with white endzones.

Get to know Charles Ashford (video)

I gave up too. Their video staff is normally better than this. -
I would just give them a call.

Littrell mentioned as candidate for Kansas job
DentonLurker replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Well, the AD is in place now. Kansas hired former Arkansas AD and CFP Chair Jeff Long today. He's been in the business a long time and has lots of football connections.- 37 replies

Mean Green Ditches Ticketmaster, Moves to Paciolan
DentonLurker replied to DentonLurker's topic in Mean Green Football
They are a recent purchase of Learfield. From what I can tell, they’ve been a monster in the collegiate ticket world for a while though (OU, UT, Texas Tech, Mizzou, Alabama, Arkansas, Michigan, just to name a few of their clients). Thought this His was interesting too: “Under terms of the deal, Ticketmaster must license its ticketing software to Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) to help it become a viable competitor instead of a customer of Ticketmaster. In addition, Ticketmaster must sell its Paciolan primary ticketing division to Comcast-Spectacor, which currently controls much of Philadelphia’s sports, venue and ticketing ventures.” LINK -
UNLV's New Season Tickets Offer Unlimited Concessions
DentonLurker replied to Cerebus's topic in Mean Green Football
This is the best part of the whole thing. The headline on that is misleading, in that the $79 package is a 3-game package. $30 for an entire season tacked onto your season ticket price. Sign me up! -
Another man coaching a women’s team at UNT? He could very well be the best hire, but we have what? Two women in head coaching positions?

FAU at North Texas Game Moved up to Thursday
DentonLurker replied to UNTFan23's topic in Mean Green Football
Why would you want a marquee conference game to be your best Saturday slot? I’ll be there, but I don’t like it. -
I would prefer sustained success in FB, MBB, and WBB before we even talk about adding another sport. Until the resources we spend now in those three sports sustain some kind of positive momentum over an extended period of time, it's just burning money to add something new. That's bad business.

Is UNT out of compliance with Title IX?

What's the value-add for UNT in adding a gymnastics team?

I’m glad they mix it up. There have been so many of these types of things on the club level already. Gotta keep these fresh!

Once the track stadium is complete, basketball offices are done, IPF is done, and athletic center is expanded, I don't think UNT lands that far from the ones you mentioned above. It takes a little time to pull everything together. This administration seems to be determined to do things the right way, which includes refreshes to facilities sooner than later (see athletic center upgrades, basketball practice facility refresh, locker room refreshes, etc.). I think the refresh piece is the piece that was missed by the last administration. It always took too long. Lobbies, locker rooms, public spaces, etc. should all be refreshed every 3 to 5 years, IMHO. That's a big part of getting longer lives out of buildings and preventing them from feeling so dated. It looks like things are heading in the right direction under current university leadership.

I become more and more convinced that this staff worked really hard to plug some holes the first couple of classes, and that doesn’t necessarily translate into stars and high recruiting rankings. Now that they’ve plugged a lot of those holes, I think the stars may start to show up and drive up the recruiting ranking. Just my $0.02.
