Promoting UNT’s homecoming football game is actually in the other duties as assigned list of job responsibilities for the mayor, in my opinion. In other words, it’s way down the list of things I want my mayor worried about. Homecoming is about alums and the school has to be the primary marketer for that. If someone from UNT picked up the phone and asked him to retweet something about Homecoming, my guess is he would do it.

If you actually take the time to look at his tweets and retweets, you’ll see that he does promote UNT. Seriously, go look. There are tweets about being at football practice, in-game retweets, retweets celebrating Hank’s basketball championship ring. I’ve seen him at games with his family. I think you’re off on this.

My guess is it has less to do with sustainability than it does lack of student interest. If I’m a frat and can spend money on a killer tailgate party for my chapter and our alums coming into town or build a float that a few of our alums might show up to see, I’m throwing a tailgate party. My guess would be other student orgs have similar views.

Only Extend Seth Littrell Only if...
DentonLurker replied to NorthTexasWeLove's topic in Mean Green Football
I know there’s a lot of chatter on here about winning a conference championship/bowl, but I think you offer the extension if he ends the regular season 8-4. That’s exactly why I’ve been in the wait and see how this season plays out. To me at 8-4 he’s coming back no matter what happens in the post season, so get the extension out there to keep recruiting on track. If they finish 7-5 and end up in the championship game somehow, you probably wait it out to see how they look in the championship game. 6-6 is going to be gut check time for Wren. And in all reality, if there’s an extension, it will probably be a standard extension without any new bells and whistles. That’s just the way it goes with coach contracts. -
Seth Littrell vs Willie Fritz - spookily similar

*cough cough* 5-4 -
This is just not true. Most schools have team gear they don’t sell to the public right away. They may sell it after the season or once the sidelines move on to something else, but most schools have team-specific gear.

From the NCAA website: The senior woman administrator is the highest-ranking female in each NCAA athletics department or conference office. The purpose of the SWA designation is to promote meaningful representation of women in the leadership and management of college sports.- 25 replies

These are slick! Can't wait to see them Saturday!

I think you're right. I'm sure search firms could potentially have some names to share with Wren that they've heard could be interested. I think the main reason most AD's and coaches want to use search firms is to avoid freedom of information requests that could put their business out there in the news.

When I worked for the state, it was 5 consecutive business days. Is it different for coaches?

It’s funny to me this thread even exists. This team is 2-1 with a really good chance to get to 3-1 by the end of today.

I think the Super Pit has run its course. It's time to modernize. I would definitely not call it a great venue.

That's fair. I'm fine with that.

Still my ranking of priorities for this athletic department: Athletic Center Expansion New Basketball/Volleyball Arena with a real practice facility attached New Softball Stadium Baseball/whatever needs to happen in Women's Sports to make Baseball happen The only way Baseball rises for me is if there are enough new dollars to fully fund the stadium/operations for multiple years into the future raised up front. Because Baseball loses money, I'm not a fan of adding it until the deficit can be covered into the future. This athletic department already needs student fees to pay the bills, and with the rising cost of collegiate education, increasing student fees to pay for baseball is off the table in my book.

Recruiting Visit tab$ at Texas and other top end schools.

I honestly think Texas will win that game by as many points as they want to. That defense is salty, and with the way the Texas O-Line pushed around Bama, it may not even matter who Texas plays at QB against UTSA.

I wonder if this is related to the SEC telling their schools scheduled to play OU/TX in 2023 to not play those games. It's looking more and more like OU/TX are joining the SEC in 2023.
