  1. I would argue in the next 3-5 years if we want to keep building for Coach Mac & Co.
  2. I like the idea of discounted tickets in the wing. Heck, I would make them $5-$10 per game as the normal price. I think that is such a great section to be the "get 'em in the door" section.
  3. From a student ticket perspective, I think they should have a way for students to be issued a QR code that they can add to their cell phone wallets that they pull up, scan as they enter, and they're in. I agree about making it as easy as possible. Please, just please... don't go back to physical tickets they have to pickup from a trailer on campus. Nothing says 1980 like a physical ticket and trailer. Edit: I'll add... Same QR code every game, every sport, etc.
  4. For the casual sports fan in Denton and probably even some students, the other piece that I don’t think gets talked about enough are the non-conference games our teams schedule. Look at softball attendance when we have played UT and OU vs MBB when we play Paul Quinn and Omaha. And The Stadium Formerly Known as Apogee has yet to host a truly marquee opponent. And with that said, we need to win against one of those teams every now and then.
  5. Man, it’s amazing the attitude on this board sometimes. UNT goes out and gets an up and coming DC, pays a really solid G5 salary to him, and people here question it. I can’t figure out what you guys want. Maybe they should have gone cheap, like UNT always has, and expected different results…
  6. I don't buy that a student has any intention of coming if they're deciding not to come because the new arena is 0.5 miles further.
  7. Meh, I don't think it matters which side of the interstate it's on
  8. They have a good chunk of "salary savings" they can float around up there right now.
  9. For me, the Super Pit is a fine but not great venue. It leaves a lot to be desired as far as modern amenities go. If this program is going to keep the growth trajectory most of us want, we're going to have to address the SP and the joke of a practice facility we have right now. My priority list for Athletics facilities is 1- AC Expansion, 2- New Super Pit/BB practice facility, 3-Softball Modernization/Expansion, 4- Literally everything else
  10. Isn't Jared's deal less than Wren's was too?
  11. I can’t imagine 99% of that home crowd would even remember who UNT’s head coach was that day.
  12. He's in play, as in they have an OC opening and he's not currently an OC anywhere?
  13. They should put out merchandise people will buy/wear. If it's green, white, black, purple... I don't particularly care. To me, getting the logo out there is more important to brand recognition than the color of the shirt the logo is on. That's just my two cents, but I think the logo does a whole lot more for the brand than the color.
  14. Those of you wanting to add Baseball, this should be your knight in shining armor.
  15. I get that too. I think coaches who develop players make a bigger difference than players who walk on campus with all the accolades. I think they will recruit better talent over time too. I just think coaching makes the immediate difference. Just my 2 cents.
  16. Maybe I’m naive, but I expect to see a much-improved defense with the Iowa State influence. Any coaches who have been instrumental in stopping the offenses in the Big XII have seen a lot more talent on the other side of the ball than they’ll see here.
  17. Unfortunately, I just don't see entry into the Blue lot getting better until Bonnie Brae expansion happens. They just need lanes they don't have to be able to handle that lot well.
  18. UT should hire someone like Mac, but they won’t. They’ll want a big name. Their loss.
  19. The fact we haven’t ever sold out Apogee* Stadium bothers me a hell of a lot more than the Frisco.com bowl games. *Is it Mean Green Stadium again?
  20. All coaches get their shot at some point. Here's a recent quick rise in the profession that came right through Denton. 1 year student assistant @ Colorado 1 year GA @ Arizona 1 year DB coach @ Arizona (1st full-time on-field coach position @ age of 25) 1 year GA @ Oklahoma 1 year CB coach @ UNT 1 year CB coach @ Memphis 2 years Co-DC/Safeties @ Memphis 1 year DC/Secondary @ Memphis 2 years DC @ Illinois Now HC @ Purdue
  21. I never said it did. Or are we working really hard to find a red flag?
  22. Young/limited experience does not equal bad game-day coach.
