  1. Because some people seem to think the Super Pit is “fine” and that’s “good enough.”
  2. I’m with you. CUSA’s record in the post season doesn’t do anything for UNT.
  3. You do realize this thread and contract extension was in 2022, right?
  4. That basketball practice facility we have is a joke. The Super Pit needs to go. It served its purpose while it did, but we have to move into 2023. Locker rooms are just lipstick on a pig. We have got to commit to this program if we want to build on what this staff has done on the court.
  5. Curious what facilities you are speaking of? If facilities is all that matters (I don't think it is), we're doomed.
  6. I say we back the Brinks truck up to Mac's house and see what it would take to get him to stay. I think he's on the verge of getting this program to be a perennial at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, while also being in conference championship conversations annually. I would also love to see us break ground on a new arena sooner than later. Texas needs a school to sell-out to be the basketball school in the state. Let's be that school. Ryan Arena has a nice ring to it!
  7. This is correct. Both schools' press releases announcing the series with Wyoming even say as much.
  8. I hope the people who are trying to convince him to stay in Denton at least get his name correct.
  9. While I think our attendance should be better, I actually don't think we are far off from where you would expect. If you look at the teams ahead of us, you have arguably the number 1 team in the country (Houston) and teams in arguably the best basketball conference in the country (Big XII). UTEP is really the only surprise to me, but I'm not sure it really should be. They live for their basketball team out there.
  10. I agree that our attendance is pretty awful for the quality of program we have, but % capacity is a terrible barometer of attendance.
  11. They would travel the exact same though. They would bus down on Friday, play the game on Saturday, and bus home after the game. It honestly is probably about the same total travel time.
  12. Two thoughts----- 1) I've got some oceanfront property I'll gladly sell you in Laramie. 2) Bad for academics? It will be the same travel schedule as normal. They'll charter a flight out on a Friday, play the game on Saturday, and fly home. It's not like they'll be in a wagon traveling the Oregon Trail to get there.
  13. Thank goodness you posted this here. I’ve been wondering when UTSA was having their giving day…
  14. This is it. This is the post. I don’t buy that students who actually want to go are going to not go “because it’s too far.”
  15. But are they reassured? I still don’t understand what you think she gained from doing this. If I’m a UTSA fan, I don’t feel any better about my team knowing he’s “committed to substantive improvement.”
  16. Why would the NCAA or schools want the other tournaments to end? The NCAA makes a little more cash and the teams get some more workouts and games under their belt.
  17. Not all traditions are for the fans. This wasn’t an open practice. It was for the team. If Coach Morris wants to make it a regular thing they do and he thinks it makes the team better, great! If honoring his mentor with the pirate theme makes it not just another workout, great!
  18. Riiiiiiiiiiiiight...
  19. This thread is proof that you can just never please an entire fanbase.
  20. Coach Morris is a Leach guy
  21. If asking fans to continue to step up is gouging them, this program is never going to get where we want to be.
  22. This should have happened years ago. Donations in Athletics should always be sport specific for ticket benefits. Why would you want a primarily football fan to snatch up basketball floor seats for just the ticket cost and then only go to a few games a year when you could get those tickets+donation in the hands of a basketball fan who will come to all the games?
  23. Of course we have all seen it, but there’s been nothing at all out there to suggest that’s the case with this. It just feels like make believe, sky is falling, Negative Nancy garbage to act like our coaching staff hasn’t vetted this to make sure they think it will help them recruit.
  24. Good grief, some of you act like these coaches will just sign up for stuff without vetting companies or doing their research to see if the service they provide will help them. I don't think we hired a staff that is just getting manipulated by a vendor. Obviously they see a value-add for this company. Otherwise they wouldn't have signed up.
