There are certainly some signals going up that this should be a very good crowd. Parking is close to selling out, and that’s a big deal.

It’s the same as every week with this team. The offense will put up points that should win you the game. What will the defense do?

Meh, he’s just using SL as a way to create a little breathing room because his seat is on fire. Their fanbase wanted Finley, their new play caller, gone too. We will see how it plays out. I’m not convinced it’s going to get any better, because they just don’t have the talent they need to compete. BV knows that. This is all smoke and mirrors.

You should definitely run your program on “hope.” All this really says is BV is starting to feel the heat. It’s desperation from a head coach who doesn’t have his team ready to compete in the SEC.

More often than not, a mid-season coordinator firing has more to do with a head coach looking for someone to blame when they start feeling the heat personally (see Walters firing GH at Purdue).

Mid-season firings don’t make any sense unless you think it helps you win games now. Anything else can wait until the off-season.

They give the offense lots of chances to get the ball back.

The only way you win that game at that point is with some kind of defensive stop whether you kick the extra point or go for two. Get your two points and a field goal ties it. Anything else makes no sense.

2 point conversion there would have made it a 3 point game. That made sense.
