North Texas receives access to Texas University Fund
DentonLurker replied to Cerebus's topic in Mean Green Football
Curious why you think that? What gives universities with a med school a leg up? 2 of the 6 new members in 2023 don't have a med school. -

At the end of the day, I still believe Eric Morris is a significant upgrade over SL. You will never convince me that an SL team would have performed better than this year’s team. Eric is going to have to make some tough decisions moving forward, whether that’s a new coaches on the defensive side of the ball or significant upgrades in personnel on that side of the ball. I think he’s good coach and I am still convinced he can figure this stuff out. After watching this team the last few years, it’s also not surprising that the offense is a lot further along than the defense. As a side note, I don’t really get the fascination with Kinne at Texas State. They’ve beat the bottom of the belt and lost to the top of the belt this year. He may end up being a great coach for them, but I’m not convinced yet. As a second side note, the other coach everyone here is so fascinated with at Colorado is now in a situation where he needs to win the last 2 games of the year to become bowl eligible. He may end up being a great coach for them, but I’m not convinced yet.

North Texas receives access to Texas University Fund

Those 3 also have significant endowments already compared to UNT/TXST to serve a lot fewer students. - UNT $296M - Texas State $343M - SMU $2B - Baylor $2B - Rice $8B Compare those with the 4 schools that are sharing the $3.9B TUF. -
Seriously, why does every thread need this garbage?

206-207 (slight preference for 207) are the best seats in the house to me, but I don’t care anything about being right down by the bench. I’d rather have the height for viewing the actual game.

That’s correct UT/A&M have the Permanent University Fund -
I woke up today and thought, “You know what would be really cool? Another thread about Caponi or this defense.”

An Examination of Transfer Portal on our 2-Deep
DentonLurker replied to MeanGreenZen's topic in Mean Green Football
This statement may be true, but I don't see how just saying X number of transfers in the 2-deep means it has given more than it has taken away. There's got to be some quality/productivity components of the transfers to support the statement. -
So it *can* be done during the season . . .

Like I said: because of budget reasons you have to make due with the staff we already have on hand without replacing those 5 because other sales teams that sell a product more vital to the success of the company need to take priority this year. But next year we will have more capacity to beef up your sales team -

I don’t know. Let’s say I hire you as a sales manager of a bottom half sales team, 5 of your top 7 sales people leave before the sales season starts, and because of budget reasons you have to make due with the staff we already have on hand without replacing those 5 because other sales teams that sell a product more vital to the success of the company need to take priority this year. But next year we will have more capacity to beef up your sales team… Should you be fired anyway if your team ends up slipping from lower middle of the pack to the bottom? -
It is interesting that their fanbases support their program without making excuses isn’t it?

I’m pretty sure coordinators are on two year deals. They were a few years ago, and I can’t imagine that changed. I could be wrong though. -

DentonLurker replied to TripleGrad's topic in Mean Green Football
For me, it’s two reasons… 1- I just don’t see that it does the program any favors to do it now. I don’t see the value add here, at USC, or anywhere else. 2- My personal belief is that a new staff deserves a full year of recruiting before you truly know what they’re made of. I know that’s the unpopular opinion around here, and I’m okay with that.
