  1. Can we really trust someone that claims they know BW, on top of that they also have a brand new profile with only 4 posts?
  2. Honest Question, George is in the MG Hall of Fame correct? I'm assuming that it as a radio guy, or is it for something else he has done for the program?
  3. Would be great to sway this kid and land him..
  4. Im pretty sure he is still at ESPN, and I know it's very unlikely to land Mack. But Mack has wanted to get back into coaching( he tried to get the HC job at South Carolina) but I think it's unlikely at his age And how the sport is played now(seems mostly a younger coaches model). Now he maybe willing to be an AD, because he was looked at by UT but passed over as a possible AD. He could view UNT as a launching pad if all goes well. I would think if anything, Mack may relish this chance as a way to possibly get back to UT or somewhere else in a few years, instead of working for ESPN.
  5. Also, Mack I bet is could strike up a convo with most if not all HS coaches and plant the seed of UNT at the program, it would be great if we were able to have HS coaches come to UNT meet the staff and Mack, that would give a solid foundation, plus if we were able to have our select athletes like Orr, Dunbar, Roberson and Quinn talk about the positives and how playing actually matters at to pro-scouts more at times then the name of the college that would help. Even if UNT were to bring in Mack as a Special Assisant and he still worked at ESPN that would be great as well but I know the latter is unlike. But adding Mack will only help Litrell and the staff, because Mack knows how to run a program and rebuild one like he did at UnC and UT.. Also, maybe Mack could get a few old UT friends that wanna see him have success write a few checks to compete with TCU for recruits in DFW.
  6. Would be great, even if UNT just paid Quinn/Dunbar/Orr/Robertson and other great alumi just to talk about UNT and promote UNT as much as possible.. I'm not even sure about contact between NFL players and possible future recruits, if thats allowed but would be great to see Orr and Dunbar trying to influence kids about the possibles of coming to UNT vs other programs.. Would be great if they coulda gotten these guys to come back for the spring game and for Jr. Day(if thats allowed) and have the guys talk about how UNT prepped them for the NFL and the benefits as well.. Quinn is a great speaker, and he would have a good impact on the kids and their parents I believe as well.
  7. would be interesting, but I think Mack would be better because of his appeal and connections in Texas already, not saying Steve wouldn't here in TX, but most kids now a days won't remember when FL was a powerhouse program with him and USC didn't turn into one when he was there.
  8. AD Mack, that cafeteria at ESPN has been good to you lol
  9. I had the same idea of hiring Mack. I think it would be a costly hire as well, since he has wanted to get back into coaching(but he has been out of it for 2 years now, don't think its likely at his age he gets back plus he has ESPN to counter-bid UNT.) The Pros of Mack-- Most likely every player in the Nation knows his name, plus Mack was known as a great recruiter at UNC and UT. Not sure if Brown and Littrell have any type of connection via UNC since Brown was there so long ago. But Mack would help recruiting in Football and maybe in other sports but i doubt it. Mack also made UT into a money machine with its own network as well, so he seems like he is someone that can raise money and awareness for a program. Was looked at as a possible AD at UT when he left coaching. The Cons of Mack-- Never been an AD and how would this impact other sports, no track record of doing anything besides football My thoughts, Mack would a great hire just because of the name and how he would have UNT possibly overtake SMU and help compete with Patterson at TCU in terms of big-name coaches... but not really sure what else Mack could do.. But we need an AD that can make UNT a brand, and not a place that people go for 4 years and everyone says never heard of UNT...
  10. I'm not sure how this would go over, but it would be a huge name for UNT.. Mack Brown from UT... I know he has not been and AD before, but there was a time people at UT and around the country thought he would get promoted when he decided to stepped down/quit/ retired... I would like someone that has experience and a track record for turning around an entire AD, but not sure how much UNT is willing to pay and even if an AD that fits that profile would even come to UNT, but a big name like Mack could help us bring more attention and could help with recruiting for football as well since Mack is known as a great recruiter but I'm not sure how the other sports would feel.
  11. Would be great to pair English with Bain..
  12. No idea, but do we have any names of people we would "like" to see here or people we would like to target? lol
  13. Would still love to see us get that DT blain or Bain that was with our DL coach in FL, and prior to that LSU.. Hopefully you guys remember who I'm talking about, and possibly an update?
  14. Is he this class or next years class?
  15. True about those 2 programs, hopefully we wants to be closer to home
  16. Love the tape, maybe my favorite QB tape I've seen.. The kid can take a hit from what I can tell, and seems to be able to go through his progressions on some passes.. Really hope we can get him
  17. Getting JUCO players in is one of the better ways for a program like UNT to build, since it is hard to get kids out of HS to come here over the likes of bigger schools because they believe they can come in play Day 1... Bringing in JUCO guys now to patch holes is better because they have played at the college speed or a minor step below.. Also JUCO kids are looking for Playin time and scheme over Name of the school, since most HS kids go with biggest named school. I expect us to have a class or 2 maybe even 3 with more JUCOs then HS guys. While we build a rep and connect with area schools.. Our staff is having to do a complete rebuild with only 1 coach staying around from the previous staff and I believe all the new guys coming in from out of state. I do agree and think we need a bigger social media presence, but I'm not mad if they are out meeting face to face with kids and coaches.
  18. Honestly, yes Allen may have a few kids that would consider UNT, but i bet the staff is trying to get in good with certain coaches and schools with players that fit our scheme now and in the future the best... Also, I bet they think since there are so many other "bigger" programs out tryin to get Allen players, they would rather focus on other schools that same level players are getting less attention... While completely passing by Allen without any a stop is bad, I doubt they are just overlooking programs completely... The staff nailed down a pretty descent class for signing day in March in just a few weeks... I believe they know what to do
  19. I really hope that he plays some in blows out that hopefully we dish out.. Just so he sees some game action after this season since he will be at or near the top of the depth chart.
  20. Would love to add this guy, but don't think this is something Litrell wants to take on possibly or deal with problem players in his first stop, let alone first HC season.
  21. Looks good.. Could be an awesome slot guy it looks like
  22. That does make sense, I thought we could exceed the 25 so I was figuring we could sign both of these guys.. I'm doubting we could have one sign and it go on next years but they play this fall?
  23. Don't we have a few more open scholarship slots with guys leaving program since December? So we could go over the 25 per year
  24. That is cedar hill, and wonder if this kid is even considering us. Could but great here with Litrell
