Out of the 200 or so scholarship athlete are we under serving. I would bet that with our higher than average graduation rate, most are getting jobs that the average non-athlete college student gets.

You said they could probably get those same jobs without a scholarship. But with that scholarship, they get get that job without school debt.

He was not a star by any means. He took advantage of the opportunity the he had fir free school...on his own efforts. you can lead a horse to water......

I have a friend from back in the day that played college basketball(not UNT), got his Finance degree. He worked in Finance for about 3 years and decided he didn’t want to do that any more. He opened a landscape company and did very well for himself.

I know fir a fact Alabama honors scholarships to players who had their career cut short by injury. Not buying it.

What is your basis for this. I have met many athletes that have graduated and moved on to post school careers

If I am not mistaking, I believe the UNT athletic programs have a pretty impressive graduation rate. It’s not the school, it the specific athlete. Most college athletes do pretty good in school.

What is the point? Is there something wrong with getting publicity for his actions? He is a small business man, not a public company that has cash to burn. This publicity allow him to grow his brand, make more money, provide more jobs, and help more people...and garner more attention.....repeat cycle....

This must really suck then for those that receive his help. Imagine receiving help from somebody that gets publicity out of it.

I agree. This is simply a form of free agency. No kids except the top few will get scholly’s out of HS. They will have to go to a lower school to prove themselves and work their way through the portal. just because you CAN do something, doesn’t mean you should.

The WING has iconic value and is used in a variety of logo designs for other UNT purposes. It is different and has true value in a marketing sense. My new political platform: KEEP THE WING!!!
