  1. This article is being updated with each bowl game. http://www.newsday.com/sports/college/college-football/college-football-bowl-game-attendance-2016-17-1.12784796
  2. They say there's no such thing as bad publicity. http://ble.ac/2iBR6GM
  3. I keep saying with the current conference setup, a 6 team playoff would be the best scenario. The top 2 teams get an automatic bye and the bottom four play first round. Every conference champ gets in and then there's a wild conference slot. This year it would have been Ohio state, but the wildcard would give a G5 team an honest shot at the playoffs.
  4. There's locations in Keller and Richardson. Their Cajun club and kickin chicken sandwich are the s$?!
  5. You have to win and he didn't. It's as simple as that. But when the number one booster publicly called your hiring a "kick in the face", I think the cards were stacked against you to begin with. He definitely underperformed but he was just at the wrong school. I think he'll be successful at USF.

  7. If the point that you're trying to make is that winning rids the disagreements about the conditions at which we're going bowling, then yes I agree with you. Post a 10+ win season with a bowl in DFW then it wouldn't matter who we're playing, what day's the game, etc and that support from our 200k+ local alumni wouldn't be as much of a concern. Unfortunately we went 1-11 and not 11-1 last year, so I am more than ecstatic. I still don't think the casual fan will take into consideration our future schedules or that we've already played Army this year when deciding if they're going to go and support their school.
  8. I don't think the casual UNT fan/alum is keeping track of our 2021 schedule, or even 2017 for that matter. If someone that doesn't follow the team very closely sees we're in a bowl, I doubt they're to going to look up our future OOC opponents to ensure we're not playing them again.
  9. +1 for this affectionate display of unity among a normally divided and bickering fanbase. And to think, there are people who don't want us to go bowling when we are already seeing the positive effects of this team's success.
  10. http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/120116aac.html Congratulations Fred! We will miss you. A leader on and off the field. I hope we can send him off with another bowl win.
  11. All the Gen Xers profiting from these bowl expansions need to remember that the integrity of college football is more important than money. ETA. What's the average demographic for the CEO's of these corporate sponsors, or the school and NCAA administration? The people making money, I guarantee that the average is well above the age of 40. I dont know how you chalk this up to millenials when your generation was the one handing out participation trophies and celebrating elementary school graduations for mine.
  12. It's bad. Shaky camera, the PA is broadcasting over announcing, stream is glitchy, and now theres no sound.
  13. Watching from home. This CUSA stream is glitchy and looks like a high school broadcast.
  14. I don't think it's serious but I'm happy we finally have a HC who other teams would actually consider hiring.
  15. I feel the same. He as the head coach, is responsible for his staff and his players actions. As the leader and face of the football team, he should have owned up to what happened, apologized, and promised if given the opportunity, he would have done everything possible to prevent something like that from happening again. Instead he has tried to distance himself while claiming no responsibility and has even stated that, "I’ve never done anything illegal, immoral, unethical.” I'm sorry but that's just cowardly and not a trait that I want in my coach.
  16. We're now at 200k+ DFW alumni. We literally are THE University of North Texas. I agree, let's string some winning seasons together and there should be no reason not to fill Apogee and show up strong for a local bowl game.
  17. I agree with all this and not trying to make excuses but Tauaefa was recruited 2015 and redshirted last year. That strikes against the old staff.
  18. http://conferenceusa.com/news/2016/10/24/FB_1024165235.aspx Haven't seen this posted yet. Very deserving for Jenkins.
  19. Maybe not! I'm only getting audio for the other link. Disclaimer: I am on an airplane so I'm not sure if it's the Wi-Fi that can't keep up.
  20. Looks like they have a video stream that starts at 1045.
  21. Mean green - 24 Thundering turd - 21
  22. I was curious to when the last time we had a QB throw for over 300 yds so I looked it up. McNulty threw for 303 yards (2td, 1int) against Rice last year. It was the only time in his career he did that. Damarcus Smith never did. Dajon never did. Greer never did. Derek Thompson had three games over 300 his last year. I didn't attend the game but watching replays and reading the threads, there seems to be a lot disappointment. A true Freshman comes in his 4th game against probably the conference champ, and matches the best output that we've seen over the last 2 years. I'm not sure where our expectations are. Did he play great? Debatable. Did he go out and compete and show where this team is going, I think so. It's a synchronized solution. You have to fix the offensive scheme while dealing with poor receiving and o-line play. I still think Littrell and co will turn this thing around but it's obvious it will take some time.
  23. At 2:30, coach ekeler looked like he was ready to jump on that fumble lol
