This is part of my pitch if I’m the American. “Hey guys I know y’all got royally screwed. Come merge/join our conference and we’ll give you a lower exit fee.” The hope is that a) tv gets increased to a point where they don’t have to leave or b) the conference is elevated to point where they won’t want leave. But then again, I’m not a smart man so I’m sure many others can poke holes in this. Even if they do end up leaving, you still had a couple years with Sanford, Cal, etc. Then maybe at that point you go grab SDSU and Boise?

I can’t imagine Stanford and Cal saying the conference needs school with history and academic pedigree, then agreeing to bring in UTSA.

If it is Earle, I really hope he balls out bc if not, the cry for Rogers is going to be LOUD.

For me, it’s because we have tangible evidence that Rogers can produce on gameday. Add in that he’s a “Morris guy”. I still expect whoever gets the job, we’ll still see some of Earle regardless.

There are so many different things this can be referencing.

If it’s close, Rogers going to get the nod. But I’ve also been a Ruder truther and Earle is intriguing so I’m genuinely okay with whatever plays out.
