  1. The funny part was there were some kids that were completely unbothered. They were trying to wrap the thing up and 2 kids were sitting mid court taking their sweet time tying up their shoes haha
  2. Sidebar on the Covid thing: I’ll forever be salty that our NCAA tourney win happened in the Covid year and I feel we didn’t get to properly “experience” it the way we should have.
  3. This is much! The game experience needs a complete overhaul. Do fun things on the Jumbotron (sing along, dancing competitions, etc), have the DJ play more relevant songs, display Jumbotron queues at APPROPRIATE times (last game they played a “get loud” clip as WE were walking out to shoot FTs. Play that when our opponent is about to shoot). Just so much that needs to be done on that side. Off court product needs to match the on court one.
  4. Our lack of front court size won’t be an issue vs Temple. They played one big at 6’10” and no other player over 6’5”
  5. Why didn’t he just.. go to OU last year lol unless he was trying to get that BU degree then head to Norman.
  6. To that, I think people and the university like to throw around TOTAL student numbers when they should be focused on engaging the ON CAMPUS students first and foremost. Absolutely agree that the university should and could be doing more to get student orgs involved. BUT this game isn’t one that I want to scream about student attendance. Lets see where we’re at once the Spring semester gets going.
  7. I don’t see Chubba as a must have, but a nice depth piece that can compete with the opportunity to surprise.
  8. Give me Chubba just so next NFL season we may get to hear “Brock’s brother is the QB for the University of North Texas” on broadcasts all year.
  9. Helps to be familiar with the system and being able to regularly meet with the coaches due to proximity.
  10. What a ref show in the 2nd half. Been calling every little thing since the AScott tech.
  11. Updating/building a venue is more than just catering to your current spectators. A more modern venue can provide a more entertaining product that entices people to return and serve as a selling point for recruits. If you go to an event and the place is electric and exciting, you have a better chance of getting those people to return.
  12. Dude you’re such a miserable fan. Never did I say you have to be jumping up and down going crazy the whole game. But there is important game moments that happen other than just the end of the game. Go watch literally any of the top programs and see how their gameday atmosphere compares to ours. Night and day difference. 1200 students dead center court is more than enough seats for our program. Which was my point from the beginning.
  13. Attitude like that is why the pit has no energy outside of maybe a possession or 2. If you don’t think it matters to the players energy, then I’m here to tell you it absolutely does.
  14. Bc there they only really affect one side of the court. If in the middle, they can set the tone for the whole arena. An arena that can be very apathetic, to put it nicely. Rather a student sit there free than a donor that pays and barely manages a golf clap. Build actual suites and stick those folks there.
  15. Sure.. let’s stick the students, usually the rowdiest group there, in a place where they offer no home court advantage. Great idea there.
  16. So many possibilities that I would be okay with but my one non-negotiable is that the student section needs to be moved to center court. I know some games are light on students (holiday break) but I’m okay with that over the boring, lifeless “loge”.
  17. Jackson Arnold flashed when made him a top recruit but also made some true freshman mistakes. Kid is gonna be good.
  18. I wouldn’t get too worked up over this. We have no idea the reasons behind Braxton going to Marshall. Maybe they guaranteed him the starting spot and we were going to make him compete? There’s also more accomplished QBs available right now so I’m not sweating.
  19. Bring me Diego or bring me death (or really just any QB with starting experience). I’m not picky.
  20. Ah yes you’re correct. 29-7 all-time. The page I was looking at was incorrect.
  21. Both quality and quantity matter. If the staff could be more selective and offer less players, no doubt the average would be higher. But with the amount of spots to fill, nothing wrong with taking some lower rated projects that ultimately bring the average down.
  22. I don’t care to argue for either of these schools but we have no historical sports connection to Texas State nor do we have anything beneficial to gain from playing them. Let them and UT-San Antonio have their fun.
  23. Same here. Year 3 and he’s not any better than he was freshman year. It’s time to get someone else a shot.
  24. Memphis and FAU are clearly in a tier of their own, but we should be in that next tier.
