  1. I think we need Shanbour this fall with the JC recruit being insurance if either he or Morris get injured or otherwise fail to produce. With this we get the best of both worlds, a quality back-up and competition for the following year.
  2. Kansas State did all right with the JC route when they were attempting to raise their program. For that matter, early on, Boise State had some success with that as well. Hope it works here.
  3. He belongs in the same place as former congressman Dennis Hastert, who was molesting young boys at the same time he was moralizing about Monica Lewinsky and wrapping himself in motherhood, apple pie and the flag. I'm fairly certain that Dante had a special level for people like that.
  4. Agreed. I like the SMU series and also the games with Army.
  5. I don't know. Maybe it would be better if Morris and Shanbour really step it up in Fall Camp and Fine shows so much potential that they decide to redshirt him so that we can have him for a full four years.
  6. Looks like a great pick-up.
  7. Thanks. Can't wait to see what Mason and Jason can do.
  8. Even if they are, depth will be a big problem. We need no injuries and we need English to be approved by the NCAA.
  9. I agree. Seems like a logical decision and a good change for all concerned.
  10. Ah yes. I remember well!
  11. "SMU transfer Keith Frazier has star potential and will join the Mean Green at the semester break."
  12. A lot of good that did us.
  13. In any case, if we relied on Smith at QB we were in trouble anyway.Far too erratic.
  14. Regardless of anything else, it was a good win last night and the team deserves credit for beating a good opponent.
  15. Dave Campbell's Texas Football is fun to read, but they predicted North Texas to finish ahead of Southern Miss. last year in the CUSA, Rice to finish 2nd in the West, and UTSA to finish in the middle of the pack. I wouldn't worry too much either way about their pre-season selections. Phil Steele on the other hand, picked UTSA last in the West and Marshall, WKU, Middle Tennessee and Louisiana Tech to be the top teams last year. I much prefer to see what Steele has to say.
  16. Actually what VideoEagle says makes perfect sense even if you do not like it.
  17. What century were you born in?
  18. DMac had trouble evaluating talent. It was't his rankings that bothered me, but the results from those he did recruit. I do not care what Littrell's class is ranked. I just want to see how they turn out on the field.
  19. Thanks. I think Littrell pushed a number of short-term chips to the table, because he feels his best chance of getting a good recruiting class next year is to show some concrete and positive progress this year. I agree with this strategy.
  20. You bet. Five parades last weekend, five more this weekend and the local favorite, the Fat Tuesday parade to finish out the season.
  21. OMG. Intoxicated in public. If they enforced that rule here during Mardi Gras, they would have to call out the National Guard.
  22. I have no problem with any recruit from any level IF the coaches have a real eye for hidden and potential talent. Time will tell if our new staff has this ability. I certainly hope so, especially this year, when a somewhat late start means we may have to find "hidden" gems.
  23. Sounds like he has the tools and motivation to do so. It is a gamble of sorts, but certainly one worth taking.
  24. I prefer to wait until signing day. In fact, I prefer to wait until this class shows what it can do on the field. Right now I have no way to really judge how well Littrell is at evaluating talent. The only way to know that for sure is to see how his signees turn out. It will take two recruiting classes and at least a couple of years for us to have any good information on that factor. As they say, "time will tell".
  25. I've heard that Mary Hardin-Baylor wants you.
