I agree to the point we had a decent season and have some things to be proud of. We were on to next season before this game. Fumbles, poor snaps, failing to tackle. We lacked preparation and just purely didn’t come to play.

I personally want someone hungry for a different culture. I would plug my friend too if I was Dunham but in the long term the University needs new blood Hank may be fine gaining corporate sponsorships but I would like to see someone that has new ideas at the top.

I think marketing and the ability to get student involvement in athletics at a non P5 should be another avenue we look at.

I'll weigh in we have a court system I personally have had limited negative interactions with the police but I have had some. If you obey a lawful order and you don't pose a threat you don't get shot. If you disagree with an officer the place to disagree and show your disobedience isn't when he's in front of you initially it's in a courtroom yes sir and no ma'am can be amazingly beneficial when you encounter law enforcement.

Rudy understands this more than most. The number of officers dispatched or on scene at the time would not change the results. Suspect with a deadly weapon possibly under the influence of who knows what advancing with a deadly weapon after repeated commands. We would probably just have more officers on desk duty. As tragic as a 21 year old student getting shot is. We find people critical of the police officer not the individual with the hatchet... I bet if he wasn't walking around smashing cars with a hatchet the police wouldn't have to had even contacted him.

The video clearly shows the office make his presence known , he then verbalizes a command 6 or 7 times. Finally given the advancing suspect within effective range with his weapon the officer was forced to escalate to lethal force. Tragic situation but the officer showed poise under pressure and let his training take over.

Sending out some offers we don't have a chance on is good to get media mentions you don't want too many but on a top prospect especially when he tweets out how thankful he is for it.

I am going to bet he's never even charged and no mention of training. He followed his training to a T its a textbook protection of life shooting case and all on video..

He said in a podcast he did something "bad" he knows he's guilty. We traded 5 terrorists for him and many lives. I will admit I never served but I have friends and even my roommate from UNT that still does he's a bad ass and my hero. He should be convicted we need to send the message that desertion matters in my civilian opinion.

It was nice to hear him talk about the boosters and the alumni and how we are hungry. In the case of recruiting I kind of like a coach driving a luxury car and having that image. Let's face it every recruit views them self as being the next nfl star or Heisman trophy winner. He is in the image of what their dream would be he just went the coaching route. also I agree all of coaches underwear and beverages should be green

I will add based on social media.. Our college of music and art and design must have a heck of a program on force escalation and weapons tactics because we have a lot of "experts" from there.

The best argument I have ever seen to the need to use deadly force was also one of the simplest. 3 of us were sitting their myself the officer and the Mr. Expert giving the usual arguments over a beer. The officer asked all of us to take any pictures out of our wallets and we did. He then said if I show up in a given situation and its 50/50 the suspect hurts them or that you don't go home do you want me to be apprehensive with the use of force. He then pulled the picture of his kids out of his wallet put it down and said any chance I don't go home to them I'm pulling the trigger. The officer deserves the benefit of the doubt every time unless the facts contradict. This is a horrible tragedy possibly alcohol related but every officer has the right to go home to the people in the picture in his wallet.

His talked about Texas ties in the pressed I would guess either his OC or DC have these ties.

After watching the interview and reading the justification and after having to reclaim a Twitter account at work lately I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for a bit on this.

Not to be negative but my faith in our athletic director is limited although I hope the reports are true that Smastrek is leading the search and hiring I am stil on tip toes. I think most of us can agree if we screw this up as a university and don't hire Littrell or Meachum or someone similar pitchforks and torches aren't out of the question nevermind our MGC memberships.

This could be our first step towards being a powerhouse in the mid majors. Why not North Texas?

I just want a team that wins. That may not be enough for many but for me I would be in the seats at apogee. If we were winning I wouldn't mind traveling back for home games and cheering on the home team.

Although i'm always skeptical we may have all the pieces in place. A great stadium and facilities, a great academic institution with a convenient location in an expanding community and hopefully a solid coaching staff that can recruit. I'm excited to see what we can do not only this year but next year especially.
