  1. Well, in my line of work, we always go with the only wrong decision is no decision. However, I think we can modify that for RV with the only wrong decision is the decision I make, besides resignation/early retirement.
  2. Would I love to see it? Yes. However, dude would lose his mind with the apathy and lack of local support. Coming from unlimited SEC resources and used to winning 10 games a year he would go bat$hit crazy here. Probably last 3 seasons before he said he's done.
  3. Ultimately, which one is going to make that fat fu#k throw a fit? I'm in favor of whichever one shows he doesn't have control of the program.
  4. What strength? He can't solicit donations very well, he doesn't seem to really like the idea of personal accountability, he doesn't really like to push the interests of NT very hard, so please, illuminate me with his strengths. I really would like to know why we should keep someone who is actively playing a fiddle while Apogee is on fire. What strength? 5. If it is in fact Meacham, then I'm sure some associated with TCU who are familiar with RV have warned him about his ineptitude. I hope he is the kind of person who will tell the president what he needs to succeed. I hope he explained in the interview process that he set some terms of his own. Perhaps as more and more associated within the athletic department (especially the most visible persons such as the HC of the football team) we will start to see the corner turned.
  6. It was the reaction. It's one thing to play with emotion, but this simply provided more gravitas towards his established pattern of behavior confirming he's got a $hitbag attitude. I didn't see the play, so I can't speak intelligently on it. However, his attitude, inability to adhere to social media blackouts, and his general lack of leadership as a senior on a team that desperately needed a leader make it difficult for those concerned with the football team to give him a break.
  7. Capitalizing on it is important. Hopefully the president gave RV an ultimatum. Fix it or else...
  8. The race card is always the first thing thrown out. He should have been benched for the twitter stuff. Although, it wouldn't have made a difference. His attitude was already formed and it's too late to change it.
  9. I do wear UCLA stuff when we are at a UCLA event. However, I immediately put on my Brelan Chancellor Jersey after the event is over. If both teams are playing, UCLA loses. I can't mismatch. It just doesn't seem right. I may not be Carlos Harris level of fashion, but I try to avoid looking like a stock car.
  10. Jon Gruden for UNT coach. Will that make everyone happy? If Jon Gruden isn't hired, I'll be very upset.
  11. I'm not 45. He may have balled out, but only for himself. He didn't have the slightest idea what selflessness or leadership is. He is a midgrade talent with a lottery pick mouth. If he was the Clydesdale we were supposed to hitch our wagons to, no wonder we went no where. Oh, and don't play the race card. An @‌$$hole has no race. It's just an @‌$$hole.
  12. Support of the new coach is a given. Until we get someone in the AD position that screams carnivore, we won't turn the corner. All I see when I look at RV is a vegetarian. He's weak and doesn't care. Wins will help somewhat with the perception of the program. But when RV enters the room, he personifies an ineptitude that is worthy of dictionary illustrations. This is why he can't win in the negotiating world. If I were dealing with him, I'd punch him, take his Jimmy John's money and shove him in a locker. Not because I know what he's done to my beloved university, but because I know I can get away with it. We need aggressiveness. He can't provide it. Get a new AD, we get a new athletic department.
  13. I think this is Meacham's job to lose.
  14. Eh, barely anyone was going to the game anyway.
  15. Piss makes a splash as it hits the water in a urinal. That's as close as we got to a splash hire with McCarney.
  16. But the hatred gives us strength. It gives us focus.
  17. It's bogus. Take a look at the Frenchy's logo on the front- the entire logo does not fit on the vehicle itself. Additionally, the panel with the number "2" covers a portion on the passenger side door, preventing it from being operated. If you look closely at the portion of the vinyl that reads "Rick Villareal", it actually does not have the tell-tale rise from the raised metal that goes across the right flank of the truck itself (which if it were actual, the pressure required to fix the lettering placard to the vehicle would be present against the sign itself). Also, the haphazard spacing and size differential of the lettering shows either 1) the letters used were not procured from the same source (a technique used in cut-and-paste letters preventing handwriting analysts from identifying culprits of crimes) or 2) the fabricator went to an unrealistic (and ultimately damning) effort to give the appearance that this was made with human hands. With the resources that a small business like Frenchy's has at it's disposal, and if it were truly a truck that was used with the intent to show solidarity with the athletic director, the effort would have a far more professional appearance than what we are looking at. It's a slow day, so I had our intel analysts look at this picture to give me their thoughts. They also asked who the hell is Rick Villareal.
  18. The discourse (be it civil or otherwise) shows that fans do care and support. The vocalization of displeasure or support of current management is, believe it or not, a positive sign. I believe that it's similar to the belief of relationship centered psychologists/therapists that arguments and bickering is actually a positive sign, that being communication with each other, evidence that there is a desire to move forward. It's when all parties go dark on communication that all hope is lost, as apathy has set in. What I see is a (albeit small) passionate fan base who ultimately want the same goal- a successful athletic department that forges a sense of community and pride in a school of which we are a part of. The parties are just going about it in two different ways- those who believe that the answer is currently in place and we just need to give him time to get him where we want and the other side is a group who believes that a new direction is necessary to get the program to the destination we feel is reachable.
  19. WHOA! 6 home games? What sort of voodoo witchcraft are you peddling here, heretic? Obviously, Tulsa and Tulane leaving have crippled our schedule for the next decade plus, so we're hamstrung in our ability to really schedule the games that we want.
  20. I only own the railroads because I went on a two week bender where all I did was drive around the block and kept getting $200. I blew most of the money registering for beauty contests and losing. Ultimately wound up in court, so I don't have enough left to even buy property on Marvin Gardens, let alone boardwalk.
  21. Pass. A monocle and top hat are required to fit in with that crowd. Even I don't think I can pull that one off.
  22. $225 is all I can do right now. Most of my funds are tied up in the railroads- I currently own reading, but I am going after B&O. I currently have 4 houses on Baltic Avenue, but I'm thinking about tearing those down and building a hotel. I do plan on giving more, once my Christmas gifts are bought. Have to go big, first time I'll see my kid open his presents on Christmas day.
  23. I highly doubt it was in reference to him trying to make the most of his career. If he's that miserable, he should just walk away. Or perhaps a hefty punishment should be levied to make an example of him. I don't care how talented you are, this is inexcusable. His attitude is caustic on a good day.
  24. You and your buddies became the wine and cheese crowd the minute that you said that the smaller donations didn't matter as much. Calling the donors like me piss ants because I can only donate as much as a humble military officer and teacher wife can afford (while still donating to her alma mater, UCLA, who is ecstatically grateful for all donations, not just the big ones). The ivory tower donations may be able to pay for the big ticket items and make RV feel like he's doing his job, but the fact that he is not interested in cultivating all donations shows a half-assed effort or completely apathetic attitude in the performance of his duties. Even if his job, from a fund raising standpoint, is to play golf with the pipehitters, the fact that he is not holding his minions accountable for their lack of effort is still a failure on his part. The "piss ants" (assuming that it's tongue-and-cheek) are the donations that truly matter and are the readily available ones. The fact that he has referred to the numerical and under-tapped/appreciated majority simply because we don't throw money at him hand-over-fist shows a complete detachment from reality. 17 donors are not able to financially sustain a program. If he instructed his staff to begin aggressively pursuing donations from the every man (like UCLA), we would not need bodybag games to finance our athletic department and we could actually have an appealing schedule with winnable games. I care about wins. I care about the program. I'm shocked that you guys are appalled by the rebellious financial minority getting fed up at not being listened to. 1000 of the minority actually engaged by the leadership will compliment the wine and cheese donors quite well (in my world, we call it main efforts and supporting efforts). I have no problem referring to the 6 figure donors as the main effort. But, the success of the main effort is only possible by paying AS MUCH ATTENTION TO THE SUPPORTING EFFORTS AS THE MAIN EFFORT!
  25. It's almost as if they have an AD who gives a damn.
