  1. You can't count the first recruiting year for SL....comes in with a team that went 1-11 and had a month to do any kind of recruiting. But he owns it now!
  2. I don't know if UTSA is a rival....but it pisses me off that they continue to give us a whippin when we play them and then recruit circles around UNT. I have hope that WB and SL can flip this one sided relationship.
  3. I'll go with"anyone anytime". I use my season tickets and when we lose I've got bitchin rights! Besides some of these kids we're trying to recruit like knowing they're playing universities they've heard of.

  5. Agree with Travis...SMU will give us a look at where we stand and potential for rest of season.....
  6. I too would like to see a break down of expenses...when your paying for 2 coaches and a AD that were fired I'm sure it impacts the bottom line for several years. Recruiting will turn around if SL can start winning. Its nice to have all bells and whistles that potential recruits are looking for but top tier recruits want to be part of a "winning" program.
  7. It might classify ,if we beat Iowa, as the biggest win in 15 years.....biggest is beating a ranked Tenn. in front of their sold out Stadium in 78 (wasn't it)....SMU is beatable but acknowledge DMN is not a friend of NT.
  8. I feel our closest rivalry is probably SMU....but for it to blossom into a true rivalry we need to give them a beat down several years in a row not just once in a decade. I live off Interstate 30 and on the weekend we play MTSU in Denton its amazing the number of vehicles with the above mention school sticker on there back wind shield...may have something there for rivalry. UTsa has a way to go before its considered a rivalry..IMHO.
  9. Perhaps if Wilson wasn't demonstrating projectile vomit he would of felt better and ran for another 100yds and he'd be MVP.....since we're speculating....
  10. I would hope Morris had a higher QB rating since he had 4 more years of college FB experience. Fine should show improvement this year. If not next man up. I'm certain there's some great FB qualities in Fine. There were many Oklahoma HS players who would of liked to of been named Oklahoma player of the year just once, much less twice.

  12. Where I was at..even UT fans were laughing at the play. Everyone knew. If I remember Dale Hansen kept using that film clip for along time when talking about UT football. NTSU beat UT.....period.
  13. Fine on offense...gotta improve 100% English on defense...hope he proves to be the leader on defense
  14. UNT is lucky to be where they are after RV and Dan. Money seems to have loosened up for athletes but continued facilities improvement and winning is what it will take to keep moving up. After departure of CUSA schools to AAC the move to CUSA was just luke warm....course getting ripped by Portland St was a killer for the whole athletic dept. so guess better be happy with what we got now.
  15. Brett told me a year ago "that's college football"! I guess am too old cause I believe a commitment is just that.....just a reflection of our society I suppose. I don't believe the recruiting BS till there in class.
  16. I would think SL ego would take a beating going from HC to OC. Then have to always be looking over his shoulder at Riley to get a ok to call plays....I don't see it happening. WB and SL probably knew Bob was leaving thus new contract to keep SL focused on NT.
  17. I guess I should of said.... 1. Take CoD civil service exam for Fire Dept...make high enough your in.......last exam normally 1000 people sign up, last one only 400 2. There are normally several former college athletes taking exam 3. CoD runs their own training academy= TX FF certificate, parmedic school UTSW (Parkland)...regardless some cities make you attend their rookie school regardless of where you got you certificate. As I said pay is substandard but you can quit after 5 years, maybe less, get on else where, where pay and retirement is better....good luck! PS..IF YOU GO THIS ROUTE, YOU CAN TRUST YOUR FIRE DEPARTMENT BROTHER AND SISTERS BUT NEVER THE CITY!
  18. If you want to be a FF now...go to Dallas...they are hiring! They will get your Texas FF certificate and Texas Paramedic certificate and pay.you at the same time. Then work 5 years and transfer to the one of the out lying cities and give yourself a $20000 pay raise. Just watch your back cause the CoD may put a knife in it in those 5 years.
  19. Not sure of the pay raise but WB must of noticed something going on with SL and took action. Wouldn't count SL first recruiting season since he was hired in the middle of it and didn't have his staff on place. Its reality that it's hard to recruit to a school with NT record. The only way to recruit better is to win...that might take longer than most want..we'll see. Finally, this whole situation with contracts being re-negotiated is a "Damned if you do, damned if you don't".

  21. Well let's see how many student athletes are charged with robbery, assault, rape, and other crimes before kicking them down the ladder.
  22. Watch out WB and SL. There are a lot of people in the MG nation that know more and lead better than you. Can't wait to see who bumps them out of a job!

  24. This should be a reality check for SL and company. You gotta face the facts that a young man being recruited by several FBS schools is more likely to be more talented than one that has one FBS offer or none.
