Typical for NT.....said in a earlier thread WB, SL, and gang have a ways to go. BUT....I'll give them a pass on this one considering all that was going on in Texas this weekend and the fact it was the first holiday of the new school year. I know its weak.......

Hit 500 wins!......a win over smu would be a huge confidence builder, no way around that. Don't win...well not the end of the season but puts temporary damper on things till we get another win.

I'm surprised it isn't more. I mean they are SMOOO (sarcasm here} . Until we beat them consecutively we're never going to be on top....especially a Ford Stadium......JUST WIN!

There are always excuses at North Texas. Crowd was decent I thought...but it took a while for the main crowd to get to their seats. Yep, we commented to each other about people leaving at the half and the flood gates opened beginning of 4th. Made it easy for me to head back to the house...no traffic for me...red lot. WB and the gang gotta along way to go.......win!

The Power 5 are semi pro leagues, everyone knows it. They pay their athletes, either straight up monetarily or thru benefits received by them or family members. There is a reason NTSU/UNT has never been on NCAA probation.....cause we barely paid coaches or their staff. This will IMHO never be addressed by the NCAA concerning the Power 5. Its all about the money..and in this case its true, " the Rich keep getting Richer!" It will take a state legislature and them pressing the Power 5 to get an outsider in. Look at UH, that talk has now been silenced....and how did Okie State get in years back!!! I hate it, but it is what it is......

The International House of Pancakes has been there many years....since the 70' s I know for sure.

I will assume we're talking about this year....not about the last 15/20 years. I'm always optimistic at the being of the year till the beat down begins. Hopefully that won't happen this year.

Forget NTSU years, I been around since the sixties and up until we returned to the big time North Texas was a commuter school. Not many people would come up from DFW for football games. Start with DD, I thought we were finally on our way.....stupid me! Then it was countless years of WTF....why do I buy season tickets. Throw in one good year then the bottom falls out. Yes BV we are distraught! A 5-8 team doesn't move my peg too far. Show me continued improvement SL and perhaps this attitude in the fan base will change.

I wonder how a professional FB team in SA will affect there attendance. They will eventually, and I see it having a impact on UTSA football attendance.

Whatever those young men need to be motivated....just WIN!

Hopefully, his stock will rise this year and keep his commitment to UNT.... Course we could have 5, 10, or more 3 and 4 star recruits and some would still have a problem with UNT recruiting. Until the big three programs get turned around and at least become solid 500 percent-ers recruiting is going to remain flat.

FYI.......Just talked to ticket office.....for those like me who were unable to attend Wednesday's events to pick up your season tickets, some will be mailed today (Aug 4) and some mailed Monday Aug 7th.

I'm glad he's in. That stretch of conference titles want be beat for a while....classless? Look no further than who his boss was. That final game..he knew the end was near and gave RV the finger.

Yep, he signed them that first class. The buck stops with him. But if you think he can cultivate recruits in one month...that's your opinion. Myself, I'll give him a pass but hold him totally responsible for this last class and those future classes that he signs. And the low expectations that I have, perhaps is a result of poor management by former NTSU/UNT school administrators and AD's. I feel we all expect 12-0 seasons today and in the future because UNT is cultivating a winning ideaogy in its athletic programs..win or pack your bags...IMHO.

Never thought about it but watched my brother play in 63 and 64 I think. I was eleven or so....remember going into athletic dorm and trash barrels were smoldering in hallway....different world back then. My personal best FB years Hayden Fry and Darrell Dickey regimes.

You can't count the first recruiting year for SL....comes in with a team that went 1-11 and had a month to do any kind of recruiting. But he owns it now!

I don't know if UTSA is a rival....but it pisses me off that they continue to give us a whippin when we play them and then recruit circles around UNT. I have hope that WB and SL can flip this one sided relationship.
