Abbott's 50% is not cut in stone..UT and ATM are not on board. This is Texas politics and with the Legislature packed with their Alumni I think the situation is very fluid.
-
We've been thru this before. At NT you win FOUR straight Conference Championships you get into NT HoF regardless of the circumstances.

It’s past time for radical change in Conference USA
RBP79 replied to meangreen11's topic in Mean Green Football
Regional competition has yet to help Appogee attendance. I've sat there across from the student/ visitor side (my season tickets go back to Fouts Field) and on occasion you'll see several hundred in the visitor section...but not packed. The closest is when playing a P5 and that doesn't happen often. Last year I went to several away games..USM one of them. Other than team member families, there weren't very many UNT fans who make these trips. You want change...immediate help would be new leadership in CUSA administration. My hope is in a new conference affiliation. -
Possible but would it interfere with College Baseball, for those schools lucky enough to have a BB team? And then basically turning right around for fall practice then starting play again. If we open at 50% of Appogee then who are the lucky 15000?

Clemson has 23 players test positive for the coronavirus

Think Texas colleges will play. But if no college football.... 2021 college FB landscape will possibly be different. -
Littrell ranked #104 coach in the nation
RBP79 replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
Kind of funny...highest rank for G5=#46 Josh Heupel...UCF. The university no one wants....#47 Hugh Freeze "Liberty U". Highest ranked CUSA.....#52 Bill Clark...UAB. The writers must of got bored after the first 25. Seth is better than #104. -
Think this season SL has got to improve from last season period. He's pretty much laid them on the chopping block since it appears he will personally manage the offense.

This whole statement can be viewed as racist.....LOL. But I forget....my existence is racist to some because of the color of my skin or period of my birth. You young'ns...just wish I was as smart as you think you are.

NATIONAL GUARD QUESTION
RBP79 replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
The Texas National Guard is under Gov. Abbott's control. When activated by the State Governor they are normally under Title 32 orders. Normally the Feds pay for this and the Governor retains control. If the POTUS wants control they are placed on Title 10 orders and are considered active duty and can be moved at his discretion to any location. The state can also pay out of pocket but this decreases the service members pay ( possibly down to minimum wage) and would kill recruiting. At this point any active duty units deployed (82n A/B Division Ready Brigade if given a mission) are mainly protecting federal property not engaging protesters unless they start trying to force there way on to federal property. POTUS has already provided funds for states to use for Title 32 orders. -
I'm sure that all the hype of last season and then falling on our ass, premature gloat, didn't help Mason also. I don't blame him though.

Reality is LaTech is #6 in enrollment numbers in La.... 1.LSU. 2. Delgado CC. 3.ULaLa. 4. SE La. 5. Tulane. 6. LaTech.....La.Monroe way down the list. Maybe LaTech needs to bring it down some From what I've read....NT is larger (enrollment wise) than any university in La.

Ahhh....the memories. It was great to be part of The Mean Green Nation that afternoon.

Guess it's cheaper to fly to the east coast than west coast.... But until Judy and CUSA figure out how to generate more money for member schools the conference will remain stagnated. I question if SUNBELT CONFERENCE.would even want to merge with all these schools that "dumped" them in there haste to move up the pecking order. SBC seems to be in a better place than CUSA right now. MWC might like a foot print in DFW...Big TV market and fertile recruiting ground. Neil Smatresk came from UNLV...perhaps he still has connections within the conference Just my opinions......

So once again CUSA is left at the alter when it comes to TV contracts. So this is the best Judy Macleod and staff could do?? I mean with Pac12/and some MWC schools appearing to not want to play this year I would of thought we could of got a better deal...assuming we play..there is a reason why the prestige of CUSA has disappeared and the buck stops in Irving.
-
1. Seldom does a opponents fan base impact significantly NT game day attendance..... 2. TV contracts?? Does NT or CUSA even have a real TV contract...one that doesn't require internet access. 3. Where is that forward thinking that the leadership of CUSA is suppose to be providing? MWC may not be the end all for NT conference affiliation/woes but you cannot deny its a BETTER conference right now than CUSA. We can sit around for the next 3-5 years waiting for our "Dream" conference invite but at this time if a invite is extended from the MWC I say jump on it.

Vaccinations?? Obviously, many here never have served in the military and deployed to a third world country.. I've been vaccinated for everything it seems..my favorite was a series of anthrax shots that with each shot the pain increased to the point it felt like getting hit with a baseball bat...lol

I'm impressed someone talked CBS Sports into airing some football games.
