Austin Ogunmakin enters the portal
Udomann replied to NorthTexasSportsNetwork's topic in Mean Green Football
Always seemed like he was just on the verge of breaking out too. Best of luck to him, hope he goes on to do great things! -
I would almost agree with that if the conference win was something to brag about. We are such a bad conference, and with the cash we are putting out, the recruits, and the facilities, consistent Conf wins should be bottom line for remaining employed.

Year 1 goal: win CUSA championship Year 2 goal: actually win a bowl, or let Seth walk
-
My goal is CUSA conference champ. We have the offense for it already. Let's bring the pain. Bowl win would be a cherry on top. Year after, that bowl is a win or walk for mumbles
-
How is staying a better choice? Straw man there. You can't turn an argument without giving a defense??
-
What kind of fan wishes hate on a former UNT player? He is choosing to better his options. You would have too. I bet you eye roll half the post here because it doesn't fit your old denton narrative...

Because the person is what matters. Siggers deserves to succeed and I don't know any of you who could guarantee that here. It's a smart choice, not an emotional one.

Good pickup for the staff. Definitely a step up. I don't think its going to instantly bring a winning season but it makes that next year of mumbles tenure much more bearable

Isn't this guy like 30 now??
-
So lets win cusa first then see
-
Let's just say that 9 wins in CUSA ain't what it used to be. It was a pickup, in the absolute, unanimous, hands down, worst conference in FBS. The stats quoted that we haven't beaten a winning team in a few years are more relevant. He can win against the worst of the worst. That's it. That's literally all he's done.

Possible Vs Probable my friend. It's possible we could win out and be here in a year complaining about how we missed out on the CFP because of being a g5. It's more probable though that we'll be here complaining about the same ol' crap again. I think everyone here is just seeing the writing on what is most likely going to happen. A stinker hire and a stinker year. I think we all want option A instead. But when your eating the steak at a Golden Corral it's best not to get your hopes up too high

Seth and critical decisions/games. Name a better duo. I'll start: Beer with cereal Yogurt and ritz crackers Siracha flavored milk Tofu based...well. anything. screw tofu. (edit: so I'm not ALL negatives, I do get that he fired the DC, so that's a plus. Second year in a row, double plus. Now please hire someone with a decent pedigree)

Need to hire someone who can fill the coaches seat when mumbles gets canned next year...

Risk is a logarithmic expression of a players possibility. A school takes risk to develop a player. That player builds up a schools reputation. But when a player achieves the NFL threshold they now have more to lose than gain by continued playing. Until NCAAF balances the players future potential with their current risk, I am all 100% on the players side to opt out. In this case (and in Dardens) one game could lose them millions. Its not a good risk.

Mason Fine to Saskatchewan Roughriders (CFL)
Udomann replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Football
Welp, now I have to watch canadian football. These are the guys who gave us Justin Bieber. To be fair, they also gave us Ryan Reynold. But also curling. Oh well, go Mason! -
Saw the name Bowden and thought Bowen and almost got excited. Now I have to change my pants and face my own disappointment.

Probably referring to my comment in another thread, but his stock keeps rising each award he gets, the marketing machine is definitely working for him. I would be happy to say I lowballed the guy. He's going to make UNT proud

Im not so sure I want to see a lot of WRs playing defense. I can almost hear the bones snapping...
-
He is still likely a late round choice. I would guess 6, but that's based solely on tangibles and school. In reality he will spend a year learning and then blow open some doors when he gets his chance (Note: this is based largely on the fact that this draft is and needs to be defense heavy. Lot of high scoring needs to be balanced)
